Time to kill

To speak the truth, time neither froze and what Felix did didn't affect everyone in the world either.

Honestly, what Felix did when he poured almost a fourth of his Astral Force inside the Sword of Kronos Rune was that he slowed the speed of time in a small area around him.

And within this radius from him was the guard who wanted to scream and take revenge on Felix despite his imminent death.

In that moment when Felix slowed the speed of time by almost three times, he who was utterly unaffected by it used all his strength to move closer to the man and thrust his sword through the man's throat and killed him.

Once he did that, Felix immediately stopped his Astral Force from flowing into the Sword of Kronos Rune.

After all, by now he had already expended close to a half of his Astral Force due to slowing down the speed of time by so much.

Therefore, if he didn't stop now and kept on enforcing his control over time, his Astral Force would be sucked dry by the sword in a matter of seconds and leave him fainted on the ground.

[Sword of Kronos Rune

> Obtain the sword which lets you wield the power of Kronos, God of Time

Astral Ink - Phoenix heart, Gold Meteorite, Thunder Eagle's talons....

First Rune Augmentation -....

Second Rune Augmentation -.... ]

This was the Rune which Felix inscribed.

Even though the information it provided was quite less, Felix had long since decided to take a risk in order to inscribe the best Tier 9 Runes possible and become the world's strongest at all costs.

Therefore, even though before inscribing the Rune he didn't know how much control he would actually obtain over time, Felix had long since began collecting all the ingredients needed to create the Astral Ink since a few particular items related to the True Dragon's Rune were not easily found due to which he needed to post quests and wait for a lot of time before he finally found them.

To put it bluntly, Felix would be lying if he said that he didn't have doubts regarding how strong the Sword of Kronos would be before be used it.

However now that he had personally tested the Rune, he could honestly say that the white sword was even stronger than he had imagined it would be and that there was nothing which could change his decision even if he was allowed to travel to the past and given the opportunity to pick a different Rune for his second Nascent Soul.

Before he inscribed the Rune, Felix thought that maybe when he was wielding the sword he'd be able to control the flow of time within a small radius around him. And before he used the true power of it, he used to think that he would be satisfied as long as he could do that.

But now, Felix who wielded the real Sword of Kronos had to admit that he had grossly underestimated its power.

After all, with this plain white sword in his hand which was so sharp that everything was the same as paper in front of it, as long as Felix possessed enough Astral Force he could indeed freeze time for everyone other than himself inside the 9 Dimensions.

Unfortunately, that was only something that Felix would have to think about in the future.

For the current him, forget about the world, he couldn't even freeze time within a radius of ten metres around him without fainting instantly due to due to exhausting all the Astral Force inside him.

So, for the time being Felix could at not slow the speed of time and not freeze it. And that too only within a radius of few metres around him.

Also, he could only maintain his control over time for less than five seconds. Any longer, and Felix would end up using too much Astral Force and faint nevertheless.

Due to this, Felix after locking the door from the inside slipped away into the dark and pulled out one of the Low-Grade Astral Stones from inside his spatial ring and began absorbing the Astral Force inside it to recover his spent Astral Force.

Luckily, since he wasn't absorbing the Astral Force to increase his cultivation and rather to just replenish his exhausted Astral Force, Felix with his Dragon Soul needed less than a minute to recover the Astral Force he expended.

And as for the possibility of turning time back to the past, or forward to the future, such matters were best left not thought about for the time being.

...

After making a note of how his inexperience showed itself just now and almost ruined his plan, Felix took a few minutes to calm down so that he wouldn't do anything just as stupid again before continuing with his plan.

Having locked the gate from the outside, Felix pulled out the long rope which had a look on its end outside his spatial stone and used it to help him climb onto the wall.

This was because even though he could use his sword to easily cut a hole open in the wall, wouldn't that turn his efforts of locking the gates from the outside a waste?

With such thoughts, Felix climbed the wall and descended it in a location far away from where the gate was at because he didn't want to alert anyone right away.

As for why he was so sure that no one would grab the gates and climb over it, it was due to the number of arrays inscribed on it which would shock anyone to death if they did anything stupid like trying to climb it or destroy it.

Smirking proudly at his near smooth sailing experience until now, Felix didn't show any signs that someone who just killed a living being for the first time showed.

In a way, it could be said that Felix who lived in this dog eat dog world had the right mentality for someone that wanted to reach the apex.

After all, he could've just knocked out the guards if he wanted to. But since that would leave behind loose ends and various unpredictable scenarios, he steeled his heart and killed two living beings who had nothing to do with his revenge on the Asta Family.

From now on however, Felix was going to start killing everyone he found with a goal to take revenge as well as destroy any possibility of someone seeking him for revenge in the future.

With such thoughts in his mind, Felix's eyes shown with bloodthirst and soul-chilling coldness as he approached the courtyard which was closest to the portion of the wall he jumped down from.
