Chapter 30

Sarada had her hands in her pants pocket as she returned Yemma's stare. The air between them was cold and Kami stood aside after he had received a deadly glare from the ogre. He remained quiet as two of the strongest creatures he knew stared each other down. He has to pass through Yemma to get Sarada to king Kai. Sarada had already brought it to his notice that Yemma may not like her because of the fact that she was somehow reincarnated and the fact that she was a working saiyan. So bad karma was definitely there and he needed to clear the air if Sarada couldn't get herself out of this

"You" Yemma suddenly said. He sounded angry. Sarada said nothing and kept her blank stare. "You of all people. Kami, what in the world are you thinking making her your successor? She's not supposed to be here. I don't even know how she was born or where the hell she came from. She is the peek of oddities. And she's a saiyan no less. Do you know of the things she did? "

Kami sighed and glanced at Sarada. The last sentence seemed to have made her falter. She had looked to the ground in what Kami could read as shame. It's the first he had seen Sarada look guilty.

"I know all of that Yemma, but she's a pure soul. I can sense that. There's not a slither of evil in her heart" Kami defended the child. He could understand where Yemma was coming from but Sarada had told him everything. Well nothing about her past, but she did tell him why she could not go against her orders.

Yemma scoffed and eyed the quiet Sarada.

"Do you have anything to say for yourself? "

Sarada looked up at the giant. She sighed.

"I apologize for everything, but I didn't really have a choice. The only reason I was alive was because my parents promised my loyalty to the king. I was constantly being monitored by the bastard. I had no choice. If I had went against orders I could have been killed and there was no knowing what he would do to my family. I needed to stay alive so I could save my mother and younger brother. I didn't like the job I did and spared as many lives as I could." Sarada explained.

Yemma said nothing. His arms were folded. The child was genuine. He could feel her guilt. He sighed. It was unlike Saiyans to be so compassionate and emphatic . He was skeptical about her.

"What about your presence in this universe? " she was reincarnated and he did not know how. She was not from that realm. She was not a soul he managed. She shouldn't be there. To make things worse, she had memories of her former life. Reincarnated souls were not supposed to remember their former life.

Sarada sighed again. That was something she could not explain.

"Yeah I have no explaination for that. I don't even know how or why I was pushed into this universe and realm but I was and it wasn't something I asked for. This wasn't even my favorite realm"

"So you would have prefered another realm. Another life? "Yemma was starting to pull up his dislike for the child again. He did not like those who are ungrateful for another chance of life.

"At first, yes. I would have preferred another realm. In this universe you have to be strong or you die. It wasn't something I looked forward to, but that's not to say I was not grateful. I have a family now. Mom. Dad. Stupid Raditz. Adorable Kakarot. Panchy. The Doc. Tights, even though we don't see each other much and Bulma. I never had that before. I never had family. So I was grateful. This realm may not have been my most favorite but I have everything I ever wanted here and wouldn't trade it for anything" She really wouldn't. She loved how things turned out. She got to experience a mother's love. A father's pride. An elder brother's ignorance. A younger brother's adoration. She had a genuine friend in Bulma. Someone who loved practically everything she did. She had Panchy, the one person who absolutely loved to cook for her. She had the doc, who did anything he could to help her in her endeavors.

Yemma smiled, despite himself.

"You are not a normal saiyan"

"I was human once, you know"

Yemma hummed and continued to smile. He figured he could cut the kid some slack. She was pure even though she did some questionable things in her life. Kami chose her so he would have to trust him.

"Fine, you've proven yourself. I'll grant you access to snake way"

Kami sighed in relief. Yemma saw what he saw within her. He wouldn't have to fight for her.

"Thank you" Sarada smiled gratefully.

"Get going before I change my mind and watch out for the snake princess"

Sarada nodded as she stood next to Kami. She already had her fingers to her forehead and was searching for king Kai's ki. It should be the highest in the area.

"Have you ever been to king Kai's planet? " she asked Kami.

The namekian shook his head no." The gravity on his planet is too high for me to handle. I've only had conversations with him"

Sarada nodded she had located what she was hoping was his ki. Luckily the Kai possess both forms of ki so she could sense him.

"I'll be back "

~~~~~~~
Sarada smiled in victory when she appeared on a tiny planet with gravity she was used to. She was amused when it came to the small planet. It felt like something a rich person would do. Buy a whole planet. Maybe she would get herself a tiny planet for the fun of it.
"Hello there"
Sarada directed her attention to the familiar short and chubby blue Kai. In front of her stood king Kai, or North Kai. He was smiling as if he knew some great secret. Sarada knew he wanted to tell a joke.
"Did you hear about the awful jungle party? " King Kai asked while he struggled to withhold his laughter.
Of course it had to be a monkey joke. Sarada sighed and decided to humor him.
"No I did not, feel free to inform me"
Kai continued to giggle like a little girl as he struggled to get the words out.
"Somebody forgot to bring the chimps and dip"
Sarada actually snickered as she watched the Kai burst into a fit of uncontrollable laughter. The joke sucked in her opinion, but the Kai was amusing to watch.
Soon enough the Kai had composed himself and stood up straight. He had his hands behind his back and cleared his throat. He suddenly adopted a serious look.
"Sarada" he started as he looked at the fifteen year old. "You're an interesting case"
"I've noticed " Sarada mused as she sat in the grass. She spotted Bubbles in the near tree.
"Kami wants you to take his place. I have no problem with that. The earth needs a guardian that is pure of heart and possess godly ki. You have both of those requirements" Kai informed. "What bothers me is your existence "
"I've been getting that a lot lately"
King Kai himself couldn't understand how she came to be. Usually any soul that is reincarnated is done so by Yemma. That wasn't the case with Sarada. What diety gave her a second chance of life? With her memories no less.
But those memories make her a suitable guardian. It's a good thing she's a pure soul. It would be deadly to have her as an enemy. She was incredibly strong and very knowledgeable.
"You'll be in trouble when the big guy wakes up"
Sarada chuckled nervously." Oh yeah I know. He'll come after me. I need to be stronger by that time"
The Kai hummed. "I'll give you my permission to be the guardian if you make me laugh"
"You already said you have no problem with me"
"Okay, I'll throw in a bonus. You make me laugh and I'll teach you some useful techniques"
Sarada didn't even need to think about it. She nodded. She just needed to tell a bad joke. The guy would laugh at anything.
"What did the monkey say. When he slide down the flag pole?"
"I don't know, what? "
"Goodness gracious great balls of fire"
Sarada was satisfied when the Kai bursted out into a fit of laughter. He gripping his stomach all the while demanding another joke.
A sigh.
"How many Kaios does it take to replace a light bulb?" Sarada asked. She was going to make it a bit personal.
"I don't know? "King Kai was trying to calm his laughter.
"All four. One to train a warrior to do it, and the other three to brag that their warriors can do it better."
Kai started laughing again until he realized that Sarada was poking fun at him. She was mocking him.
"Hey! "
Sarada laughed quietly. "What? It was a good joke and you laughed"
The Kai sighed. Sarada had a good sense of humor. That earned his respect.
"Fair enough. I'll teach some of my techniques"
~~~~~~~~~

Bulma opened her eyes to her bedroom ceiling. She furrowed her brows in confusion. When did she get home in her room? When had she fallen asleep? She sat up in bed and rubbed her temples. Last she remembered she was with Sarada and Kakarot. They had gathered all the dragon balls and Sarada had made a wish.

Bulma blinked as she suddenly remembered what the wish was.

She looked down at herself. She looked the same. She felt the same, although she was very hungry. She needed some food. She felt as if she hadn't eaten for weeks.

She slipped out of bed and did a quick stretch. She felt stiff. Very stiff.

She sighed and looked at herself in the mirror. Her hair stayed the same. Everything was the same except for the fact that she had an actual tail. She raised an eyebrow as she eyed the new appendage. Could she move it around at will? She tried. She could. It felt natural. As is had the tail since the day she was born. She took it in her hand and squeezed. She winced in pain and her knees almost buckled. It hurt. She would have to train her tail like Sarada, Kakarot and Gine.

"I'm a saiyan? "

Saiyan. A saiyan has zenkai boost. A saiyan ages differently. A saiyan can become immensely strong.

Maybe she'd catch up to Sarada with enough training.

~~~~~~~
Sarada was stuffing her face full of food. She had spent an entire two weeks training with the Kai. He taught her how to create the spirit bomb and kaioken. Useful techniques she was grateful for. She came home as soon as she finished. Even if she hadn't learned both techniques she would have returned home in two weeks. She wanted to be there when Bulma awoke. She was very curious as to what the girl would do when she woke up. She had a feeling she would be very hungry.
Sarada glanced at the kitchen door when she heard footsteps heading towards it. Bulma was soon standing there, staring at her. She stared back and swallowed the food in her mouth.
"Hungry? " Sarada asked as she motioned to the feast on the table.
Bulma eyed the food. She was. Very much so. She could feel her stomach grumble. She felt as if she could eat as much as Sarada.
Sarada smiled when Bulma sat down and immediately started to put food in her mouth. She noted the tail twitching behind her and brightened even more. She was a full blooded saiyan. She had the appetite to go with it. Sarada couldn't stop smiling as she continued to eat.
Gine and Panchy were watching the two curiously. Bulma was actually a saiyan. If they needed proof of the dragon ball's power it was right there.
Sarada was laughing when Bulma eyed her bowl of noodles hungrily. It was the last bowl of food. The two had emptied the table and apparently Bulma could still eat. Panchy jumped at the opportunity. She could cook more.
"You want my noodles?"
Bulma nodded. Sarada chuckled and gathered some with her chopsticks. She held it in front of Bulma with her cheery smile.
Bulma was more than happy to accept the offered food. She let Sarada feed her the noodles and washed it down with some cold juice. She sighed in content. She was starting to get the saiyan hunger.
"You understand what it's like now? "
"Yeah I do. I'll never complain about your eating habits again" Bulma said.
Sarada laughed, amused as she played with the ice in her glass.
"You were out for a month"
Bulma widened her eyes in shock. A month! She slept for a full month?
"You're kidding"
"Nope, one month"
"Huh"
Sarada hummed as she fished for a cube of ice in her cup.
"Did you miss me? "
Sarada didn't look at her when she nodded yes.
"Are you embarrassed to admit it?" Bulma asked. That's a first. Normally Sarada wouldn't care and openly admit it. Why the sudden change.
"I am not"
"Then why'd you look away"
"Because I felt like it"
"You're a liar"
Sarada grumbled and munched on her ice. She still refused to look at Bulma. She was sure to find a proud smile on her face.
"Admit it"
"There's nothing to admit"
"You're embarrassed "
"Am not"
"Are too"
"Am not"
"Yes you are! "
"I am not! "
"Idiot" Bulma folded her arms in annoyance.
Sarada scoffed, but said nothing.
The two glanced at each other out the corner of their eyes and smiled. Soon they laughed.
"You really called me an idiot"
"You weren't being honest".
"That's a lie. I nodded, didn't I? "
"You didn't verbally admit it"
"What's the difference? "
"There's a big difference"
"I don't believe that"
Maybe there was no difference, but Bulma wanted to hear Sarada admit to missing her. Sarada apparently didn't plan on doing that.
Sarada could feel Bulma staring at her and caught her eye. Why was she staring at her like that? She was looking at her with pleading eyes that Sarada actually found to be very adorable.
She sighed. She saw her game.
"Not gonna work"
Bulma groaned. "Damn it just say it! "
"No"
"I hate you"
"No you don't "
Bulma refused to look at her now. Sarada found their argument to be very childish, but amusing.
"I missed you"
Bulma immediately smiled. "Did you say something? "
"You know what? No I didn't. You must've heard wrong"
Bulma giggled. "Okay I'm sorry. Please don't take it back"
"I won't"
"Yay" Bulma exclaimed and hugged the smiling Sarada. She chuckled as she let the girl embrace her
"Did you miss me more than Kakarot "
"Oddly enough, yes"
