"Yu! What are you doing? Are you doing this to piss me off?" 

What happened?

Everyone turned their heads to follow the girl's eyes. Those who were streaming also turned their cameras to a middle-aged man who was running toward the girl as he spoke.

"Stop right there!"

The middle-aged man was stopped by Quan Jin's slender arm.

She blocked the girl's father from getting any closer. Quan Jin turned her head to check on the panicked and terrified girl, calming her down. She then looked back at the man.

"Can't you see her hatred for you in her eyes? If you get any closer, not only will you not save her, you will trigger her to really take her own life!"

The middle-aged man became even more anxious and glared at Quan Jin furiously. He told her off with an abrasive tone, "I am trying to save my daughter here. What does it have to do with you!?"

Quan Jin was irritated. She tried to calm herself down, but she found it really difficult. The man was so rude!

The girl named Yu suddenly stepped closer to the edge of the building, half of her body leaning over. 

She yelled at the man hysterically, "If you come any closer, I will jump down! You have always been like this! You think you can force me to do things that you want me to do with no regard for my feelings, just because you are my father. Have you ever tried to understand what I want and what I actually love to do? No! Not once!"

"Even after falling asleep at night, I could only dream of how you had scolded me for not being able to achieve what you wanted from me. All those tutoring classes that you signed me up were like nightmares to me! Father, I am just exhausted."

Immediately after expressing her feelings, she felt relieved. It had seemed that only death could have brought her such permanent relief.

The man had never imagined that her obedient girl could commit suicide. Her actions grieved him.

"So was that how you have been thinking of me?" he said. "Have you ever thought about why I did all those? It's all for your own good in the future–"

Quan Jin scorned when she heard the man's emotional speech.

She stood on the spot indolently with a cynical look on her face. She must have been raised in a noble family to portray such elegance and refinement.

"But what you have done is leading her to kill herself!" Quan Jin's words pierced the man's heart like a dagger.

He was enraged, "You! That is bullshit!" 

Yu was still floundering. Quan Jin walked closer to her father with a kind smile, forcing the man to step back. 

"Don't try to find excuses for your selfishness! A lot of authoritative parents like you always defend themselves with the same excuses. But when your child is depressed, do you ever show any concern? Do you know how many youngsters kill themselves before an exam? She is already standing here on the rooftop. Is this not a warning to you?"

"Is living up to your expectations the only way for them to please you? Do you know how hard they study day and night and how many hours they get to sleep? And how anxious they are when it comes to exams? When she was too afraid to come home because of a piece of paper, did you ever think about how you caused it?"

"You are not perfect, yet you still force your kids to be. Do you want to ignore all their dreams and make them live a meaningless life?"

The crowd was astounded. Every single one of her words echoed for everyone at the scene to hear.

On the rooftop, a deadly silence lingered.

The livestream chat on people's phones quieted down for nearly ten seconds.

Then...

The number of comments began to increase exponentially, reaching millions of views within the minute.

Quan Jin's astonishing words had attracted everyone's attention, brutally tearing down the wall of the middle-aged man.

He tried to retort subconsciously, but he soon realised that Qian Jin had not left him any room for that.

"Do you know why they start to hide their thoughts and keep everything to themselves? Do you know why they are getting less talkative and distancing themselves from you? Do you know why they smile less and less?"
