Chapter 1023: Never Received Roses

Grandfather Santos was getting on in years and enjoyed the feeling of having his grandchildren around him.

Both grandsons were good to him, and his daughter-in-law had a pleasant temper, which brought him particular comfort.

He just liked to talk with them, have meals together, and didn't ask for anything more.

Zachary Santos peeled a shrimp and handed it to Grandfather Santos.

"Grandfather, this garlic shrimp was made by Ann, please have a taste," Zachary said.

"Ann's cooking isn't bad either, I know," praised Grandfather Santos. "Ann is also very filial. Your brother doesn't keep me company much, but Ann often comes to visit me. She's truly respectful."

"Grandfather, it's only right," Ann Nolan said, embarrassed by the praise.

She felt a touch of sorrow in her heart, thinking that if she were to leave the Santos family and Landon, she might never see Grandfather Santos again.

She felt a little guilty toward the elderly man.

He had always been kind to her.
