A mysterious stranger?

The head bartender laughed and the staff began to serve a free drink to everyone as the crowd cheered for Chen.

"How about one more competition?" a deep voice rung out just as Yu Chen stood up from her stool.

Chen turned and her green eyes met deep black ones. Chen was taken aback as she stared at the person who had spoken. It was a man with long black hair which were tied in a ponytail, wearing a black windbreaker and staring lazily at her.

Yu Chen rubbed her eyes and smiled, "Really sorry Mister. But I don't think I have it in me for another competition."

The man stood up and walked to Chen, "Are you chickening out now?"

Yu Chen narrowed her eyes and was about to agree before a voice rung from behind her, "I'll complete on her behalf."

The man looked behind Yu Chen at Xi Hua, barely drunk and very composed. "But I wanted to have a competition with Miss..." his voice trailed off.

Yu Chen raised her eyebrows, "Don't worry. She's my friend and as difficult as me to beat. You know what, if you do beat her, you can come join me on the dance floor."

"What about if I lose?" the man chuckled.

Yu Chen smirked, "Then you can pay for everyone's drinks here."

The man gave Yu Chen a half smirk before ordering shots from the bartender.

Yu Chen walked off to the dance floor as the drinking competition started.

Yu Chen was truly letting loose to the music when she was joined by the man and a very tipsy Xi Hua half an hour later.

"So, who won?" Chen asked, swaying to the music.

"Your friend here." The man answered, steadying Xi Hua who had lost her footing as she exclaimed happily.

"Why do I get the feeling that you let her win on purpose?" Yu Chen asked, as Xi Hua shrieked, "Chen?!!!!!!!" and jumped in her arms.

The man laughed as Xi Hua whispered in Chen's ear, "You know, I really was at my limit. I'm lucky he admitted defeat!!!!"

"So, I've asked the manager to put all the drinks on my account tonight, as I promised. Will you offer me a dance, to assuage the heart of this poor loser." the man asked with an amused face as Yu Chen steadied Hua.

Yu Chen laughed, "I'm tired. But I will have a drink with you for going easy on my friend. A drink, not a competition."

The man also laughed and helped Chen carry Xi Hua back to the bar, where she ordered a glass of wine and fell asleep after finishing half of it.

Yu Chen stared at Xi Hua and sighed worriedly, "Great!! Who's gonna drive me home now."

"I can do that." the man instantly offered.

Yu Chen laughed, "Thanks but I'm not used to getting lift from strangers. I'll call a cab."

The man leaned closer to Chen, "But you will have a few drinks before you leave right? I've not enjoyed your company enough yet."

Yu Chen leaned away awkwardly. She avoided looking into the man's eyes, they reminded her too much of a certain someone.

Chen laughed awkwardly and took a sip to hide her embarrassment. "Maybe I'll stay for a few drinks." she said.
