The only reply she got was a "hmm" from Chen as she took off her coat and shoes.
"You didn't redecorate? What about my room? Did you not redecorate it too?" Hua persisted, hoping to get a response from Chen, but the only thing she got was another "hmm" as Chen went in the bathroom.
Xi Hua plopped on the couch with her face in her hands. She had no idea what to do now. She hated it when Chen turned off her emotions and went into robot mode. Hua would have liked it better if Yu Chen had screamed, punched, kicked, wailed or cried, anything other than the blank, expressionless face she was giving right now. It reminded her too much of the time when Xia and Chen had fought, and this had been Chen''s exact reaction.
Remembering the consequences of that time and fearing that this time would be the same, Hua did the only thing she could think off. She pulled out her mobile and dialed a number.
On the other side of the city. . . .
Si Xia sat in a private room of a restaurant with a grave expression. He was at the head of the table, and one of the men said something, but Xia's mind was half the city away, in a bar where he knew Chen had gone with Hua.
He knew he was over-reacting and that Chen would be safe, but that didn't stop him from worrying. Si Xia had wanted to send at least one bodyguard with the girls when Chen had said that she wanted to go with Hua alone, but being the stubborn brat she was, she had even rejected that idea.
"It's just a bar Xia!!! I'm not a little kid, I'll be fine. You don't see Zenghai preparing an army for Hua." had been her exact words, and that had made him shut-up. He did not want to seem controlling.
Si Xia realised that he had been zoning out upon the voice of the man who had been talking calling out to him. "Mr. Si? Mr. Si!?!?" he called out, looking at his peers in confusion.
Xia looked up with an annoyed expression, "I've told you numerous times not to call me that." The man gulped and immediately corrected himself, "I'm sorry. Can we call you boss, or viper?"
"Call me whatever you want except by my name. Now, shoot." Si Xia said and the man immediately began.
"As you had asked us Mr. . . . Boss, we looked into the activities of the Hawkeye. He really is in the city. I had my men follow him but. . . . . ." his voice trailed off as Xia raised a hand to stop him.
The man wondered if he was in trouble, and heaved a sigh of relief when Si Xia whipped out his mobile and stared at it. The phone was vibrating, probably a call, and as would have been expected by their cold boss, he rejected it.
But the men were very surprised when a warm smile came upon their ice cold boss's face as he began to type something on his phone.
All of them looked on with their jaws on the floor as Si Xia even chuckled once or twice as he continued to chat. But they all had reigned in their surprises by the time he looked up, put his mobile away and asked them to continue.
