Racing through the city

Si Xia was definitely very unimpressed by his subordinates and was yelling at them, "You mean to tell me that the shadow has been in the city for over two months now?!?!?!!? And I am getting to know about this now?! NOW????!!!!"

His subordinates hung their heads and Xia was about to go off again when his phone rang again. Irritated, Si Xia looked at it and was surprised to see a call from Xi Hua. He would have cut the call and texted that he was busy if it was Chen, as she would have called him because she was missing him. But Xi Hua? She would never call him to gossip. Not when Chen would already have told her that he was in a meeting. Had something happened?

Xia had already picked up the call before he came to the conclusion that it was probably something related to Yu Chen. "Xia you need to come back right now!!" Hua exclaimed as soon as the line connected.

"Where are you?" was his first question, as Si Xia got up, grabbed his coat and walked out. He did not even cast a glance at his bewildered subordinates, who looked at each other as soon as their boss walked out, wondering what had happened.

"We're back at the apartment. . . . . . " Xi Hua spoke and Xia immediately heaved a sigh of relief. Both of them were safely back, it meant that they were not in any danger. But his mind started churning once again.

They were safe, but something terrible had probably happened which had shaken the girls very much. "Do you want me to pick up Zenghai too?" Xia asked, being considerate. Hua's voice was hesitant as it came, "No. Nothing happened to me, it's. . . . . . . ."

"Is she hurt?" Si Xia asked, using all his effort to keep his voice even. He had almost broken the button of the elevator trying to reach the parking quickly by now. He heard Hua exhale as she said, "Not really no. It's. . . . . She . . . . . . " her voice trailed off again.

"Was it Mian?" Xia asked, hoping against hope that the answer would be no. He knew how much Chen loved her little sister and how much she had been looking forward to this meeting. "Umm . . . . . she . . . . . it was. . . . . . . " Xi Hua began, but stopped abruptly. Si Xia was running out of patience and was about to yell at her when she spoke again, her voice very urgent, "Chen's back from the bathroom. I'll be going. Just come quick."

And the line went dead. Xia groaned in frustration as he rushed from the lift towards his black car. He desperately wished he had brought his brown Ferrari, but he couldn't risk being recognized.

Si Xia got out of the parking and floored the accelerator. If he really had been recognized racing through the streets of the city, President Si would definitely have made the headlines. But luckily, no one recognized him and he was just another crazy asshole driving too fast.

"Chen! You sure you don't want anything? We barely had any food back at the bar, or I could make you something to help with the hangover." Xi Hua called out from the kitchen. She cursed herself for not knowing how to handle Yu Chen whenever she shut off.
