"He might be with Jean right now, I shouldn't be waiting for him." As Sam sighed

Sam went to school alone riding in her skateboard because her Father went early for work. She went to her locker to get her notes for the first subject, get some biscuits as usual and put some clothes. Dragged by her bare foot, she went to the Science Building, room 34 (it's Bernadette's classroom.) She cannot find her there and upon secretly searching for Bern's face, she bumped into someone.

It's Stephen.

"Oh! Sam, you are just finally here! We'll be having a meeting for the preparation of the school's sport final event! What are you doing here?" asked Stephen

"Shhhhhh…" she drag Stephen away and went to their meeting place.

Everybody is there, including Zaldy and Bernadette. Sam got surprised not because of Zaldy (for he will be representing for Gymnastics event) but for Bernadette's presence. Sam found herself anxious. Bern wave her Hello and so both Stephen and Sam waved back. Sam went to the only vacant seat near Bern while Stephen as the President go in front to start.

"And because we are all here, let's start the meeting." Stephen said

A member open up by a prayer.

"Where do you think you are strolling?" Bern asked Sam through writing in the back portion of her writing pad.

"Restoom." Sam respond

"Liar! Hahaha!" Bern replied

Stephen noticed the two and still managed to go on his agendas.

"Huh? Then where would I be?" Sam denied

"I know, just tell the truth, where did Stephen saw you? Hahaha!" Bern playfully smirk

"In your room I was searching for your face." Sam answered straight

"HAHAHA! You! Silly Bitch! Hahaha! Don't you know I'm already here? Or don't you know I'm part of this?" Bern replied

"Maybe both." Sam replied

"Stop it, we might get caught." She added while hiding her unexplained feelings

"No! Don't worry about it! Are you free?" Bern asked

"Yeah! I AM YOUNG AND WILD AND FREE!" Sam jokily replied

"Hahaha! I am asking if you're free after class around 4 pm?" Bern requested

"Yeah! What's up?" Sam replied

"Let's watch the Baseball game! 4pm at the Baseball field. I'll be staying on the benches." Bern said

"Sure. I'll be there." Sam replied

She is controlling the feeling of having that weird conversation with Bernadette.

Bernadette is smiling while listening to the agendas.

**Woahhhhhhh! I can't believe it! Can someone slap, tap, drop, wrap, flap, rock me now?! I am going insane! Did I really do that? Hey! Bern! Everything's real!** Bern thought

Seems like she's got an intrapersonal conversation with herself.

Sam is a long time crush saw on her skateboard most of the days. Always sending her letters for admiration but always seen together with a guy joining the gymnastics competition.

"THEY'RE JUST FRIENDS", that's what others see but it's a different thing if Bern were to be ask so she better have her ways to get Sam's heart.

Meanwhile, Bernadette is a gorgeous girl who spent years in New Bataan, Province of Davao de Oro. She joined a lot of beauty pageant and gone through modelling. She also strives hard on becoming a senior officer of the student's advancement training or S.A.T in their school for her dream to become an army officer in the future. She really is a determined girl willing to take the risk to achieve her dreams. But the question is … is Bernadette also willing to fight for the person she loves against the disapproving eyes of the crowd?

***FLASHBACK***

"Why did you cut off your hair like that? Are you a boy? I guess not!" Stephen exclaimed

Bernadette bowed her head

"How many times do I need to tell you that I won't like it?" Stephen added

"I cut it for a purpose!" Bern reacted

"Shhh…Okay, I don't care with that purpose, that's fine, just … let it grow again and don't cut it, never again, Okay?" He said

"No, not just because I will cut it whenever and whatever I want but also because I am breaking up with you! Stephen! " Bern yelled and run away

"Bernadette! Bernadette!" Stephen bawled

***END FLASHBACK***

After class, Sam went to her locker to change her clothes and then to the field. She saw Bernadette on the Softball field with the cool outfit being an umpire. Wet by her sweat, Bernadette looks so attractive. And there she goes again. Sam filled with mixed emotions when Bern is running towards her.

"Hey! Let's go?" Bern said while getting her sports bag.

And while Sam is still amazed, she is not able to respond.

Bern pointed her cheeks and Sam get awakened.

"Wh-why d-did you d-do that?" Sam asked.

"Then why are you so blank?" Bern asked as a reply

"Huh? Uhhm-mm.. We better go to the Baseball field." Sam said and they started to walk.

"So, how's your day?" Bern asked

"I should be the one asking that to you. Hahaha! How is your day?" Sam replied with some awkwardness in her face.

"Hahaha! It was great. Especially that we are here! Together. I felt good! How about your day? " She asked

"Woah!? What a silent field? Anybody here?" Sam asked

"No, it is just the two of us. You are trapped." Bern played with her scary yet sweet face.

"HAHAHA! I thought we were watching their game. Are you kidding? They must be having an intense training today." Sam replied

"No, I listened to their meeting dear. You are so cute. Hahaha! The Baseball team is receiving their jerseys and the ladies' will be on tomorrow. So today, they're busy organizing for their bats and balls and gloves and everything. Isn't it the perfect timing dear? HAHAHAHA!" Bern joke around

"But honestly, I would like to spend this moment with you Sam." She added

Bernadette started to become serious

"I liked you. Ever since the day 1. When I'm receiving your letters, I felt different. And I'm not afraid of social critics, I am ready for it." Bern added

"Seriously?" Sam replied

��You are stupid! Hahaha!" Bern spanked Sam's head and they both laughed.

"Actually Bern-n-nadette, at first I got scared of writing to you because I might get rejected. I saw how you work hard. I know, schooling is so difficult, your course and you as a senior officer. I might be wasting my time and get hurt if you will ignore me, I have no idea how you will react." Sam is now serious.

"But, still, I would like to have you as my Girlfriend." Sam added

Bernadette smiled.

"Boyfriend maybe? Because I have a short hair! HAHAHA!" Bern joke around

"Is that a Yes?" Sam asked

"Maybe that's a NO?! Hahaha! That's a Yes! Yes! Yes!" Bern replied

"We are crazy! Hahahaha!" said Sam

Bern introduced Sam to her Aunt Fely only as her friend. Aunt Fely is an old maiden who's nearly living on that school they attended.

"Do you have a boyfriend?" asked Aunt Fely while having dinner

Bern took a big gulp while drinking water.

"Ahmmm.. N-no Aunt Fely, I have no Boyfriend." Sam hesitates

Zamira and Bernadette is getting closer and each moment in every day is very … very … special.

Until one day …

"Hey?" Sam held Bernadette's wrist

Bern is ignoring her.

"Hey? What's the matter Binibini? Hey? Why are you doing this to me?" Sam beg

"Just let me leave." Bern is lonely

"Huh? What's the problem?" Sam asked

"Leave me alone Zamira! Just leave!" Bern replied while crying

"Bernadette? Why are you doing all of this to me?! Tell me, what's wrong?" Sam has a teary eyes seeing Bernadette in pain

"I need to leave, Sam." Bern replied

"There's a chance waiting for me where I could go into the military training for 2 years. In Dagupan. That's an opportunity!" Bern said

"I guess." Bern added without looking at her

"Huh!? In Pangasinan? That's far! Bernadette!" Sam cried

"That's it Sam! That's it! It's too far! But I need to do it!" Bern replied

"You don't need to go that far! There's a lot of choices! Just don't leave me!" Sam cried

"If reaching my dreams could mean leaving you, I would still do it. It's for my dream, Sam!" Bern explained

"But we are each other's dream! Right? You said that to me … before Bernadette!" Sam weakly sighed

"But my dream is not just about you Sam." Bern bowed her head

"And so, I would be left behind? That's no fair!" Sam bowed her head

"I can't handle a long distance relationship Sam. I can't." Bern replied

"Me too! That's why I can't let you go! And do this!" Sam cried

"And you told me we'll stay until we reach our dreams! Bernadette! Please don't do it!" Sam begged

"But I never promised. I never did! So let me leave! Can't you hear me?!!" Bern looked away

That was the most hurting words Bernadette have to say.

"How could you be so self-centered Bernadette? I never thought we'll end up like this. You are so selfish! I hate you!" Sam cried

"I'm not selfish Sam. It's you! So leave me alone and forget about me!" Bern yelled

That was the most unwanted words which Sam heard but enough for her to leave.

"Fine! I'm letting you go but remember this, I will never come back to my Exes! I'll be glad for letting you find your happiness even if it … no longer include me. Goodbye Bernadette. You're right, I'M SO SELFISH. I'm sorry." Sam leave

Bernadette trying to hold her tears stared Sam walking away from her.

Sam didn't looked back even once.

Until she's out of sight.

She's gone.

**Beep Beep**

Sam turned her alarm clock off as if she had her sleep. Tears are dropping again and again. Moments are remembered and Bern's smell lingered. Sweet memories are reminisced.

The competition is gently approaching and everybody is preparing and very excited.

"Where you at?" Bern gently asked Sam on the phone.

"At the back portion of where you are standing Haha!" As Sam said while laughing

Bern drop the call seeing Sam on the rain.

"Why didn't you told me you were there? Where's your umbrella? You might get sick you Bitch! Why are you so careless? Damn! Come here! Grab this bag and let's change your clothes, I have extra clothes here. Let's go." As Bern held Sam's wrist

"But the supermarket is closing soon." Sam said

"No. You need to change your clothes first. We'll look for another supermarket then." Bern answered

"But it's the only supermarket who sells chess mats. Bern, you have to listen to me." Sam requested

"No Binibining Sam, It's you who will listen to me. Get your clothes off and change." Bern insisted

"We're here!" Bern claimed

All the supermarket is closed and the rain is unstopping. They are trapped and helpless

"I got to call Aunt Fely." Sam said

"Okay, tell her I'll be staying in your house until the rain stop." Bernadette instructed Sam

"Okay." Sam replied

***ON THE PHONE**

"Hello Aunt Fely?" Sam said

"Hello?" Aunt Fely responded

"Yes Aunt Fely, its Sam, Bernadette's girlfriend, I mean a friend, Bernadette's friend. Ahmm.. We've been trapped by the rain but we are going home right now and she'll be staying there until the rain will stop. Would that be fine Aunt Fely?" Sam said

"Oh. Dear. I am also trapped in here but soon I'll be going home too, just waiting for a taxi. Just take care of yourselves and I'll be reaching you when I'm home, Okay?" Aunt Fely responded

"Okay Aunt Fely. Take care." Sam responded

"Okay. Be careful! The two of you Dear, Bye." Aunt Fely ended the call

"Okay she already knows where you at." Sam said

They went home together.

Pouring rain makes Bernadette stayed late at night in Sam's room. Aunt Fely instructed her to stay safe and better stay at Sam's place.

That started many shared nights between THEM.

"Ipagpatawad mo, Aking kapangahasan. Binibini ko. Sana'y maintindihan." Bernadette sings in sweet voice

"Haaahhh Minahal Kita agad. Ipagpatawad mo…" Sam sing with Bernadette

"SAMMMM!!!" Mom cried from downstairs

"Mommmm??" Zamira answered

"Get up and prepare! Here's Bernadette already, Come on fast!" Mom yelled

Sam is shocked but still remained inside.

"Tssskk! This young lady's sick again. I'll just go upstairs Bernadette." Mom said

"Uhm-mm , maybe she wants me to go first Tita. I will just go. Uhh-mmm can you please give this to her Tita?" Bern handed a letter for Sam

"Oh. Okay Uhh-mm. No problem Dear." Mom said

And Bernadette leave.

"Saaaaaammmm!! What took you so long inside your room at this time!?" Mom went upstairs

"I don't want to go to school Mom!" Sam shouted

"Why?!" Mom asked

"I'm tired Mom. I'm so tired!" Sam cried

"Tsk. I don't have time for dramas Zamira. Here's a letter from Bernadette. Get up and prepare for school." Mom said

Sam stared at the letter that Mom trickled in by the door. She looked away and glanced on it again. Sam started reading it

To: Sam, My Binibini

I LOVE YOU BUT I NEED TO DO IT. TODAY IS MY FLIGHT. 9 O' CLOCK IN THE MORNING.

BYE.

From: Bernadette

**Ring Ring**

"Hello?" a guy answered

"Z-zald?" Sam replied

"Sam?" Zaldy had no idea

Sam remained silent and sobbed like a child on the phone

"Hey? Where are you now? I'm coming to you" said Zaldy

***Call ended***

"Hey?" Zaldy is doubtful while studying Sam's face

"What happened? Why are you here? " he added

"She left me." Sam sobbingly hugged Zaldy

"Shhhh.. Take it easy. I'm here for you." Zaldy took his hankie and wipe Sam's tears

"She left." Sam cried

"Shhhh… stop crying. Your eyes are now tired." Zaldy comforts Sam

Zaldy never leave just like how he promised to remain by Sam's side in the Airport. He really loved her and promised to never let anyone hurt her.

Never again.

"Hey! Look Sam. The sun is smiling to us." Zaldy said

Sam remembered Bernadette again with those lines … "Look at the sunset! The sun is smiling!��

"I want to go home." Sam whispered

"Oh. No problem." said Zaldy

Zaldy take her home and waved Goodbye to Alex

"Oh? It's a long time I've seen you with Zaldy again. So how's school?" Alex asked

"It's alright." Sam coldly replied

"Mom and Dad are going home soon from grocery and takes Arron to his husband's place. There's a food inside the fridge." Alex said

"Yeah, but they're not yet married, so there's no husband-wife thingy. I'm not hungry." Sam said and walked upstairs

Alex wonder what's with Sam's action. She hurriedly went to her room and followed Sam

***FLASHBACK***

"Oh! Yes Dear, I'm coming after this, Okay? Bye for now, Binibini!" Sam said on the phone

Bernadette ended the call and decided to come over to surprise Sam

"Okay Stephen, So, what's in here? Why did you call for a meeting … here? Am I alone? Where are the other chess players? " Sam asked

"Are you dating with Zaldy?" Stephen asked

"NO! We were childhood friends. Hey! What's with you?! " Sam exclaimed

"Then what's his problem with me?" Stephen asked again

"I don't know and I don't care." Sam boringly responded

"We're not even in good terms." she added

Stephen came closer to Sam to place her back against the wall

Bernadette saw Stephen inside the sports meeting place and got curious seeing his new girlfriend leaning on the wall.

And realized it was …

"Damn!" Bern shouted

"B-bern!" Sam yelled

"W-what are you d-doing.. h-here?" Stephen asked

Bernadette ran away

"Bern! W-wait!" Sam yelled as she run after Bernadette

"Hey! Hey? Please listen to me! Bernadette!" Sam got Bernadette and crossed her arms over her

"You're a liar!! You told me you have a chess meeting! Is that how you move to deceive me? Huh! Shit!" Bern is losing her temper

"Hey, I'm so sorry." Sam tried to explain

"No! Swallow your sorry! You know what? Stephen's my Ex-boyfriend…��

Sam got shocked

"…I can give you to him if you want! I'm so proud of him for choosing MY girlfriend as his NEW girlfriend! He had a good taste! And you? You're a two-timer! Now tell me who's your number one? Huh?! Bitch!" Bern is full of anger

Sam let Bern go from her arms and sigh

"I can't imagine that's how small you think of me." Sam weakly said

"How could you be so blind?" Sam added

Bernadette slapped her hard

"Bitch! Blind?! I even saw you kissing…." Bern said

Sam closed her eyes in too much pain

"I'm sorry... I did not mean to…"

"Enough." Sam said

"I just don't want to see you with someone else." Bern lowered her voice

"I said enough. I love you, I don't know and I don't care about your past with that guy! I never thought he has that fuckin' plan! Bernadette, I'll never be cheating you." Sam explicated

"Sorry." Bern hugged Sam

"Yeah, But you slapped my face really hard. It needs an emergency lip medicine." Sam touched her aching face

"Promise me, you'll stay faithful to me huh? We'll be staying no matter what." Bern whispered

***END FLASHBACK***

"ARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!" shouted Sam

"Hey! Sam? Sisssyy? Open the door!! Sam!" screamed Alex

Alex trying to find the key is frightened. She opened the door hurriedly worrying what might be happening inside. She saw Sam blubbering

"I hate her! I hate her!! I hate her!!" Sam howled out

"Huh?" Alex asked

"I'm trapped Alex, since we are in the Baseball field up until now!!" Sam yelled

"No! You're in our house!!" Alex tried to comfort her

"No! You don't understand!!!!" Sam shouted

"Shhhhh… I'm here! You're not trapped any longer. Shhhhhhh.." Alex whispered
