Not Suitable

"Where are we going Beth?" I asked clumsily as Bethany pulled me through the front door.

I had put on my casual clothes.

Apparently, I had nothing "suitable" for the outing.

I wore black denim shorts, a black leather jacket and a white singlet. These were accompanied by white sneakers.

"Grace, let's just go okay?" She stopped and said as she let go of my arm.

I stared her down as I stood akimbo.

She was obviously in no mood for that as she rolled her eyes and turned towards her car.

She then stopped abruptly and began rampaging her purse for her keys and when she found them, she used the remote to unlock the doors.

"Why are you stiff like a statue? Get in!" He words thundered slightly in a commanding tone.

Bethany has been known to be slightly bossy and impatient. Throwing a silent fit if things didn't go her way.

One time, she actually almost got Mr. Dean sacked because, and I quote, "He was droning on!".

How can she get him sacked?

Well, with Bethany, ANYTHING is possible.

That's why I wasn't surprised she appeared at my house this afternoon.

I waved my thoughts aside and walked towards the car. I stretched my hand forward to open the door, when I remembered that I hadn't locked the door.

I trotted back to the front door.

"Hey!" Bethany shouted as she poked her head out of the car and looked in my direction.

"Where you going?!" She asked, with a slight look of anger on her face.

"Hold on BT. I gotta lock up. I love my house okay?" I spoke loudly.

I turned toward the door again, with the assurance that Bethany had a small smile plastered across her face.

She loved it when I called her BT. It was like a sedative for calming her down when she gets all pissed off.

I turned the knob and pushed the door open. I then walked in briskly to the dining table, where I picked up the spare house key from within the vase.

I had no time to search for the main ones.

The sedative given to the tiger would soon wear off.

I turned towards the door and just as I approached it to turn the knob, I noticed the keys hanging from the key hole.

I face palmed myself and heaved a heavy sigh, as I walked back to the center table and dropped the spare.

I then took out the main keys and walked out of the house, locking it at same pace.

"Finally! Grandma Grace!" Bethany said as she threw her hands up and walked back to her side of the car.

I smiled to myself as I got into the car and placed the key into the cup holder by my side.

Bethany looked at me and started the car.

She then revised with full speed and drove out of the driveway like someone who just robbed a bank.

"OMG! You need to slow down and drive carefully Beth!" I exclaimed in panic as I watched Bethany's face scrunch up.

She then started laughing aloud.

"Hey and keep your eyes on the road!" I said as I spotted a truck ahead.

"Chill Grandma G. Look, life is worthless, YOLO and we gotta enjoy it ma dude!"

"Enjoy it yourself. Don't involve me please." I said as I relaxed a little. She was now driving at 100.

For her, that's slow.

Like really slow.

I'm surprised she hasn't crashed her car yet.

Who knows if she has? Her parents are filthy rich. Hm...and her car always looks flashy. Why haven't I thought of that?

"Yeah so, why'd you put your...um keys...into the um...cup holder? She asked with a look of dissatisfaction and curiosity.

"Well..." I said as I looked at the cup holder.

My eyes widened as I came to the shocking realisation.

The cup holder wasn't empty.

The cup wasn't empty either.

"Sh*t! I hollered at the top of my voice as I frantically picked up the smoothie cup and slowly dipped two of my fingers into the cup and retrieved my keys.

I then picked up a yellow rag lying on the dashboard and wiped my hands alongside my keys, while placing the cup back into the cup holder.

"Oh Grace! By the way, are you gonna drink that?" She asked as she pulled up in front of Next Shopping Mall.

"Ew no. I don't wash my keys." I said as I chuckled.

"Wait what are we doing here? This place is-"

"Super expensive, I know. But we can't go where we're going with these clothes.

Come on." She said as she undid her seat belt and stepped out of the car.

I almost undid mine. When I realized...

It was never on in the first place.

We got out and stood in front of the massive posh building which had tinted glass walls.

Wonder how the foundation was made.

"Earth to Grace!" I snapped back to reality as Beth called my name.

"Huh? Oh, let's get going then." I replied wearily as I thought of how expensive this place was.

Why did Beth drag me out here?

She looked so excited too. What was so important that we can't go with these clothes?

Well, hopefully, these questions tugging at my sleeves would be answered soon enough.
