Don't Bet On Grace.

The Doctor looked at Grace as she approached the bed. He noticed her pale face and her teary eyes. He could tell she was not ok, but there was no need to use the tranquilizer on her. She seemed calm at the moment.

Ann could tell the Doctor was observing her closely. She had no idea what to do. She couldn't pretend to be Grace, and there was absolutely no way she could get away with it.

She could never carry herself the way Grace did, and neither could she be as arrogant as Grace was. The whole thought of it was making her head to ache. She sat on the bed and closed her eyes.

"Miss Grace, do you really not remember anything?" The doctor asked her.

"Doctor, what do you mean by that? What's wrong with my princess?" Chairman Jiang asked the moment he entered the room with his wife and Zoe.

Zoe and Mrs. Jiang rushed over to Grace's bedside, hugging her tightly. Ann closed her eyes. She couldn't do this. There was no way she could act or pretend to these people.

"I'm not Grace! I have no idea what happened to her, but I'm not Grace. My name is Ann!" Ann blurted out.

"Shhhh, stay still, my darling. You'll be fine," Mrs. Jiang whispered as she patted her head.

"Doctor, what exactly is the problem? Is she suffering Amnesia?" Mr. Jiang asked again, all eyes on Grace.

"I'm not exactly sure what it is yet, but this can't be a case of amnesia since she is still insisting she is Ann and not Grace. I think a part of her brain has been affected; I'll have to call in a neurosurgeon specialized in such cases. But I'm very sure she'll be alright," The doctor said, trying to reassure them.

Ann sat still, not knowing what to say or do but grateful she had reduced the burden from her mind by telling them the truth, believing it was up to them.

"Doctor, when can she go home? Do we have to wait until the neurosurgeon comes in?" Mrs. Jiang asked.

"She didn't really sustain any physical injury, and I'm surprised she is having an identity disorder. I'll place a call to the neurosurgeon and let you know when you can bring her in but for now, you can take her home," The doctor said.

Home? Ann thought to herself, how was she supposed to live with these people? She glanced at Chairman Jiang and his wife; they were a formidable team, and never in her life had she dreamt of standing so close to them.

"Sorry, I'm just coming. I was very busy. How're you?" Tae-Joon said as he stepped into the room and crossed over to meet Grace.

Ann looked at him with wide eyes as her heartbeat changed its rhythm... How could she have ever forgotten that Grace's fiance was her own, Mr. Tae-joon? She couldn't take her eyes off him; her mouth suddenly felt dry.

Zoe looked at her older sister in amusement. This accident must have really messed up her head for her to be looking at CEO Tae-Joon in such a manner. She jabbed her slightly with her elbow so she could compose herself and not make an utter fool of herself.

"I'm ok," She said quietly in a voice very much unlike hers.

Tae-Joon looked at her. He wasn't familiar with this meekness of hers, and he wondered why she had seemed so surprised and shaken to see him. Well, maybe she didn't expect he'd visit her, given her rudeness at the restaurant.

"You came right on time. We were just about taking her home," Chairman Jiang said with a warm smile, grateful Tae-Joon had made an effort to come to the hospital.

"Can he come with us?" Ann asked to the amazement of everybody. Tae-Joon turned to look at her, and they all turned to look at him.

'This little accident must really have messed up her head for her to be making such requests,' Tae-Joon said to himself. "Sure, I can take you home in my car. We'll follow you in my car, sir. You can lead the way," Tae-Joon said to Chairman Jiang.

"Thank you," Ann said, shocking everyone once again.

Grace woke up to see herself lying on the hospital bed, and she remembered she had fainted in the bathroom. She noticed someone dozing off at her bedside. She sat up to see a chubby young lady who was supposed to be looking after her sleeping.

The chubby lady was dressed in fake designers. She didn't need to sell clothes to know fake. She had no idea who the lady was, but neither did she have any idea about her own identity at the moment.

She rushed to the bathroom to look at her face again. Nothing had changed. She still looked like a stranger to herself.

What about my body? Did I die and return like this? What about my parents? Could they be looking for me? Grace asked herself. Well, she would get all the answers she needed after waking up the sleeping lady.

She kicked the lady gently to rouse her from her sleep. Sara opened her eyes. "Ann! Thank God you're awake. Why did you scream that way and faint in the bathroom? I was just coming in when I heard you fall," Sara said, looking at Ann with curiosity.

Grace narrowed her eyes. Ann? Was this some sort of joke or nightmare? How was this possible? Barely 24 hours ago, she was at the entrance of the clubhouse as Grace, and now she was someone else?

This wasn't normal, it wasn't ok, and she had to do something about it, maybe getting to know who Ann was would help her unlock everything.

"Who are you? I don't remember anything," She said, holding her head. She remembered it always happened that way in movies, and if she played her cards right, she'd uncover everything in a very short time and go back to being herself.

"Ann, are you ok? You really don't remember anything? I need to call the doctor," Sara said, getting up in a hurry.

"Wait!" Grace commanded. She needed to talk to Sara, not a Doctor. "You can't call the doctor... yet. I need to talk with you first. what happened?" Grace asked.

"Ann, I really should call the doctor. He asked me to call him immediately after you regain consciousness," Sara said, wanting to leave.

"Are you stupid or deaf? I said I need to speak with you first," Grace said angrily, shocking Sara.

"Ann, you're really not ok. You have never insulted me in this manner. I'm going to call the doctor immediately," Sara said and left before Grace could hold her back.

"Such a chubby stupid girl!" Grace said with a hiss.

The Deity laughed as he watched them all. "Humans are nothing but pawns, very entertaining pawns," He said as he laughed again, making the thunders rumble.

"You never interfered in the affairs of humans; why do you now interfere in the affairs of these ones?" The goddess asked in displeasure.

"There is always a first time. And this is going to be very interesting. I want to see just how much they can do about their current situations," The Deity said.

"Grace will sort things out. She's a smart one," The goddess said.

"Don't bet on Grace. I'm loyal to my loyal servant Ann," The Deity said.

"If you support Ann, then I will back Grace up," The goddess said, challenging the deity.
