Chapter 20: Keep Going!

The next day all I felt empty, but at the same time there was a need or should I say hunger to win. If I could win maybe that would give more meaning to the death of my sister. I honestly don't know what I'm thinking anymore. I went to my group and got ready to fight in the second to last round.

"Hey Vicente did your eyes always have cracks of black in them. Your red eyes have like a crack of black in them now." George said to me with a worried look.

"What are you talking about George?" I asked him. Sophia and Chloe came over with worried looks. I think that it might have something to do with the corruption from using that skill.

"He's right, there's something wrong with your eyes." Sophia said.

"Are you alright, from what we saw from yesterday you killed your sister. You don't just get over that." Chloe told me. I was kinda worried about my eyes, but I had to keep going.

"I'll be fine. I can do this alone. We'll win this no matter what right?" I said. George and Sophia seemed partially inspired I think.

"WILL YOU SHUT UP!" Chloe yelled as she hit me.

"What the heck was that for." I said.

"Vicente it's ok to feel horrible and to cry or something. You can learn on someone's shoulder!" Chloe expressed to me.

"I-I just want my sister's death to mean something. If we can win maybe it'll give meaning to it." I said. Everyone looked at me worried even Shiro despite being cynical most of the time. They tried their best to console me and we got ready to fight. Cruz was up first to go against us and asked me,"Hey, can you use lucky dice and be okay with me borrowing the buffed stats."

"When are you going to do that?" I asked him. He gave me a weird look and turned.

"Just be ready and don't be surprised." Cruz says while waving his hand as he walks away.

     "Use skill: Lucky Dice

     Agility and Strength

     ×2

Rebound = ×3 power given." Well this isn't very good for me. Cruz's opponent didn't seem amazingly strong, but this was Cruz so. In an instant, Cruz was beaten before he could borrow anything from me. Dean was up next and I hoped that things would be different and quick because in 6 minutes I would receive the rebound and this would mess me up for a bit. The battle seemed to be going differently seeing as Dean wasn't sent flying and utterly destroyed instead her opponent seemed slower than her. I think Dean's opponent was a tank. She was very versatile in combat. A scary combination of basic reinforcement and projectile magic, archery, speed, and use of daggers. She could switch between everything in her arsenal in an instant. She must have trained a lot to be able to do this. I felt some bloodlust my way.

"So I see you're staring at Dean a lot as she's fighting." Chloe said, glaring at me. She was the one with bloodlust. Sometimes I forget that she was raised by an alchemist and assassin. I should ask her how that happened.

"I'm just watching the match, what's the big deal with all that bloodlust." I asked not really knowing the problem.

"The only person you should look at is me." She said.

"I mean if that's what you want then." I said as I stared at her with a smirk. I felt that I probably looked a little weird or creepy. Chloe started to laugh.

"If only your past self could see you now. You would find it hard to believe that you were like that. Those lessons I gave you must be working well." Chloe proclaimed.

"Yeah I really appreciate you for helping me. I think Dean is winning." I said turning to the match. Dean had caught her opponent off guard and won by a forfeit since I'm guessing no one wants to die. I still had rebound in 2 minutes left. It's my turn now so I hope that I can end this quickly. My opponent seemed huge and heavily armed. He had a sheath with multiple weapons and it sort of made me laugh. I think he thought I was being disrespectful, which I was. He came at me throwing all the weapons around the battlefield. They were thrown at an incredible neck break speed. He soon had no weapons left and lunged at me. I could dodge, but I couldn't find a weak spot or way of beating him quickly. He used his weapons as puppets as he pulled them all to protect and attack along with limiting where I could move. This was getting annoying, but soon he brought all his weapons together and fired them at me. I couldn't deflect all of them in time. Cuts and wounds were spread across my body.

"Use skill: Power Storage Release." I got more strength and regained any mana I had restricted. This stores my power while restricting it to be released all at once. It also has the capability to give me more power from attacks I've received, but this side of the skill is dangerous. I had it since the Lair of the Devil dungeon when I met Judge, but I only wanted to do it in these instances where I can't win any other way. I was hurt still and the attacks didn't stop as more and more of his weapons were shot at me.

"Use skill: Gale storm. Use skill: Flash Flare. Use skill: Plasma Chain." I used my magic to stop as many weapons as possible. My mana was running extremely low so this wasn't the best strategy to use. I had to break his remaining weapons and beat him. I can only put everything in one hit.

"Use skill: Conqueror style- Corte cósmico." I was facing a whole lot of weapons at once along with him seemingly perfectly ok. Next thing I know I wake up on the ground with the ref healing me and my opponent.

"Who won?" I asked him. The ref seemed shocked that I was awake now, but seemed to regain his composure.

"It was a tie that one move you did broke his weapons and knocked him out, but he got hits on you at the same time with a club that was hidden." I tied so the last match was everything. Whoever was fighting needed to win for our team to continue.
