Chapter 26: Best Night

I went straight home to get some more training to find Dante eating without me. I get that I was gone for a while, but it was noon or afternoon. I don't have a watch on me right now. I hear there are watches that become shields. Which also tells time, but Dante was just stuffing his face.

"I thought you said you couldn't cook very well." I said. He stops eating and stands up finishing up the food he made. He walks outside into the backyard.

"I'll make it up to you. First, give me your sword that isn't the one with the demon." I gave him the sword that I only used to dual-wield with. I stopped once I learned Conqueror style.

"I'll teach you the last move of the first stage of Conqueror style. It's called 'Conquista de Ilusiones'. I'll attack you with it, you should be able to take it. Block if you can. Use skill: Conqueror style- Conquista de Ilusiones." He slashed at me which seemed to be a vertical slash. Once my blade was about to block his blade, it disappeared and I got hit by a slash that I didn't see coming.

"That skill makes your body move without any conscious thought. No mind-reading can stop this move. The slash is at random and the first slash is an illusion. Conqueror style is supposed to be good for most occasions. It was originally used by a fool who after losing his loved one went to kill gods. Although they weren't permanently killed. As long as people pray and believe in them, they live. The fool tried his best to kill them and created Conqueror style to do so. He fought many different gods with different powers and in the end he died completely alone. He was a fool who lost the person he loved and went on a rampage." He said. I never heard of someone who fought against gods and goddesses and killed some or all of them temporarily. Gods and goddesses were made out to be unbeatable with little to no weaknesses. They had kids who were strong heroes and villains although they always seemed to die kinda tragically from what I've heard. It seemed that he wasn't lying seeing the look in his eyes which looked incredibly sad.

"How do you know this?" I asked him as he turned and walked to our house. He looked out of it all of a sudden.

"It'll take you about 2 and ½ months to learn stage 2. It will be hand to hand combat. They make you someone who can slash without a sword. You'll learn skills and how to fight without skills. Conqueror style skilless and Conqueror style hand to hand combat. I need to rest so better be ready for some more hellish training. You should eat and rest early." I ran straight out the house. I could have taken his advice or I could go on a date with Chloe which would technically be the first date we have ever had. She gave me a book which can be used to communicate from far distances. It notifies her when I write in it and vice versa. She was free too so we decided to go eat somewhere. We arrived surprisingly at the same time.

"Looks like someone really wanted to go on a date with me, huh?" She said as she saw me. I was used to her teasing, but she was not used to mine. She was wearing glasses which I was surprised she even had.

"Yeah of course I wanted to go on a date with you. We haven't had any alone time at all. Hey can you come over here for a bit." She became red, but still came closer to where I was. I brought out a necklace, I bought from a jeweler after stealing from some rich assholes, from my inventory and wrapped it around her neck. I got Shiro to put some spells that would heal and protect her. He said that the spells were very potent and that he was an amazing mage for being able to use them with ease. I didn't really pay attention to what he was saying because he insults me a lot. He did what I asked him to do for a cost and I was on my merry way. I honestly don't want anything to happen to her, but I believe in her and her strength.

"Wear this wherever you go and never take it off. This will keep you safe. I really care and love you so I want to do whatever I can to protect you." I told her with a smile.

"I do too, which is why I learned something from my book. Use skill: Alchemist protection- Aura of Protection. This way you'll be protected whenever and as long as you don't sustain too much damage you'll be fine." She went close to my ear and whispered,"I love you too Cente." She smiled and we walked into the  restaurant where we got a table and had a candlelit dinner.

"So what do you plan to do if or when we get to the point for we have to go to the next step?" Chloe said. Aren't the next step marriage and moving in together. I would like that.

"Yeah I would want to marry you and settle down somewhere. Although I am a little worried about what could happen to Dante." I said as she smiled.

"We can all live together or he could not want to be something between us. That could make certain things awkward. Who knows, but from what I can tell he seems extremely kind." She says. I was thinking about how someone could be as perfect as she is. Although we can argue on a couple things.

"We can protect each other against anything and if we ever can't we have friends who can help us. We can plan out dates and have fun." I said which made her smile. We had an amazing date or at least I thought we did which was reaffirmed when she told me we did after while I walked her home.

"Vicente, thanks for such an amazing night. Love you goodnight." She said as she started to walk to the door. I grabbed her hand before she could open the door.

"Can I have a goodbye k...kiss?" I was honestly really nervous to say it. I was about to start rambling until she kissed me. It was amazing and I felt great.

"I was hoping you would ask. I was wondering the whole time on the walk back if you would ask." The kiss was both my first and best ever. I felt like there was an explosion in my heart. So many feelings were being felt by me at once.

"I want to go on a million more dates. No more than that. I want to stay with you forever. I know it might be weird since we barely started dating, but uh yeah." I said looking into her eyes.

"Well we can try our best to do that, but it might take awhile. I don't hate that idea. By the time we get married we will probably be somewhere around that number. " She said as she walked into her place. It was faint, but I heard the most silent happy scream ever. I was humming on my way home.
