Chapter 34: New Problem

I was walking with Chloe as we were called to meet some people. Well it was only supposed to be me, but Chloe wouldn't let go of my arm so we went together to see what was happening. We entered the Guild Master's office as a man in a white robe ran towards me as he tackle hugged me. I was confused as there were two other people wearing the exact same white robe, both were female, but one looked the same age as the man who tackled me.

"Who are you? Also can you get off of me?!" I lifted myself up as the man didn't let go of me as I only turned to the Guild Master to see if this guy was important as he nodded.

"Sorry about my husband. My name is Amy and this is my husband Clint. This is someone from our village who wanted to accompany us, her name is Katherine. We have come here to return you to where you belong." Amy said. I wasn't quite sure what she meant by, "return me to where I belong" was she gonna give me a new house or something?

"What exactly do you mean by returning him to where he belongs?" Chloe asked as she put her hands up making air quotes.

"Oh sorry he is our grandson and we are going to take him back to the Weapon Eyes Clan. This young lady here is his wife to be so we'll take him to marry her and have him stay in our hidden clan village." She explained, as Katherine avoided my gaze as Chloe looked at me while a strange murderous radiated off of her. It took me a while to process the information that was just given as soon I realized what she said completely.

"Wait what!? I can't marry her, I'm dating Chloe. Also what gives you the right to come back after all this time and order me to marry anyone or go anywhere!" I argued. I didn't want to go with people who didn't even bother trying to see my mother after her death or even before.

"You have to or else they'll get what they want to perform the ritual! You want the world to end or what? Why do you think we stay hidden from the whole world? It's because people hunt us and seek our power! We stay hidden to protect the world!" Clint explained, loudly as if we weren't 2 feet apart.

"Well that's you, I'm only half from your clan so piss off! I would rather die than go with you rats! You want to keep the world safe fine, but don't mix me up with you! I'm more than strong enough to protect myself and anyone I care about so leave me alone!" I clenched my fist as this argument was getting heated by the second. I suddenly felt my body lose all feeling as I couldn't move, but was still conscious.

"This is a skill that I learned from copying it. I'm sorry, but you can't stay out here and marrying will help you adjust to life as you'll see." Clint said, about to pick my body up.

"Use skill: Aura. Use skill: Demonic Shroud. Use skill: Lucky Dice x2

     Strength, Speed, Defense, Magic Resistance

     4x

Rebound= 0" I felt the feeling in my body as I stood up and pushed Clint away and turned to face my grandparents and the person they wanted me to marry.

"I'm sorry Katherine, you probably aren't horrible like they are, but I can't marry someone I don't love. As for you two, like I said you two can fuck off because I'm not going to your village. You can go hide or do whatever while I pretend you two don't exist. How does that sound?" I questioned. My grandparents seemed ok enough, but I could help but feel angry by the fact that they didn't visit or try to do this when I was an orphan. They may be my blood, but they aren't my family as far as I was concerned.

"We will keep trying and we won't give up until you come with us. At least, come see the village and decide afterwards. Will you do this for us?" They asked.

"Like I said no. If you don't mind I have some things to do today so we're done here." I walked out of the room as Chloe followed shortly after.

"You really laid into them, but from what you've told me from your past they didn't help at all so they kinda deserved it. So where do you want to go, I mean we can at least check the place out?" She asked. I didn't want to go, but if they would keep annoying me to go eventually we would relent right? They said that they would keep trying to convince me so I wasn't sure what to do and it kept giving me a headache as I thought on what to do. I would eventually have to go once I got annoyed enough wouldn't I? I decided to keep thinking about my answer as Chloe and I went on a date to get my mind off of things. I still needed to ask them questions about what happened between them and my mother and about why they didn't take care of me when I was younger. Our date went well, but all these questions kept invading my mind as I lost focus a lot during it so I wasn't sure on what to do. That night someone broke into my house as I readied myself to fight off the intruder to find my grandparents while another figure, who I assumed was Katherine, stood outside my house.

"I thought I said to leave me alone and what the hell you broke into my house?!" I scolded them.

"We still have much to talk about and we can't let you stay out in this place without letting you see our village before you make your final choice." Clint's eyes seemed to shine.

"You know what? Fine, I'll go to your dumbass village just to spit on the ground and leave." I reluctantly started to pack my things as we would go two days from now.
