Chapter 61: Meeting with the Devil

[Vicente's POV]

"This was absolutely perfect." We said at the same time before hitting the hay. I'm not sure what else would make me happy, but of course life doesn't always go my way.

"Why hello there, Mr. And Mrs. Cortez." A horned red-skinned stranger came into our bedroom with a smile.

"Who the hell are you?" We were both already completely prepared for a fight. I had my swords at his neck and Chloe had already trapped the stranger with earth. It messed up the room a bit, but this person was way more important at the moment.

"Easy up, I'm only here to inform you of a meeting and of your precious little sister's soul being destroyed completely. Well it's not yet destroyed, but according to the person who took it, 'This is one of the final pieces. Tell Vicente that I'm thankful for what he did.' This will take you to the Underworld, so you can join the meeting. Bring only your most trusted." The man left in a spiral of flames. We just stood there with the business card that had the man's name on it.

"Lucifer," Chloe read the card outloud and seemed to sigh. I picked her up bridal style before taking her to bed.

"Tomorrow, we'll worry about it. Today, all I'm focusing on is you." We stayed up all night with no one being able to interrupt what was going on inside.

"Today was the absolute best." Chloe finally said, while her breath became audible. We fell asleep without a care in the world, at least for today. The next day, we informed everyone about the strange meeting and about the card.

"Well it looks like we have our next adventure all set up. Can't wait to see how hot it is in the Underworld and if I can get a tan over there." George made jokes about it before getting serious and deciding to only bring some of us, in case this was a distraction. We needed to be smarter and I was all for it. We still needed to figure out the ritual that would apparently bring the end to the world. We looked at the card before tapping the glowing mark on it in the shape of a flame. A door appeared in front of us that was charred and looked to be made partially of fire. We opened it and were welcomed by an impossibly high temperature and a giant castle. We sat there amazed before a butler came and escorted us into the castle. He didn't speak much and just gave the occasional responses to our questions. After a few minutes, we just stopped asking and decided to follow him in silence. He opened the door and we were greeted with Lucifer and another similar looking person, who looked like a more human version of Lucifer. Lucifer had a cool pose on his throne, as he greeted us, "Welcome to Hell or the Underworld! My personal home!"
