Chapter 62: Annoyance

[Vicente's POV]

"Uh...hey?" There was an air of awkwardness in the room after there was little to no positive reaction to his grand greeting.

"Was the greeting not grand enough?" He asked his son, who just glared at us, "Their low intelligence is probably why they don't understand greetings." I already don't like this pompous asshole. George seemed to want to laugh at the greeting before, but now he's all serious.

"Anyways, let's go have a feast to honor our guests. Our butler will take you to the dining hall, so that we may feast for your arrival has brought much to talk about." He seemed more malicious back when he was inviting us, but now he seems more like a king that's having his fellow kings over. We followed the butler in awkward silence and eventually reached the dining hall, which was pretty amazing. George wanted to see if he could touch the chandelier, but seeing as we're in Lucifer's house….that doesn't seem like the best idea.

"Wow this food looks great." George and I both tried to eat, only for the food to appear in Lucifer's son's hands.

"It's customary for the house owner to eat and make a toast before the other guests eat." Part of me wanted to slice him in and half and the other part of me was stopping George from doing the same thing that I was thinking of.

"To our guests!" At least, we can eat now. That didn't stop us from glaring at Lucifer's son. He doesn't seem to like us for some reason. We haven't even formally met him, his father didn't even say his name. Now he's throwing a bit of a fit over us even breathing.

"Hey, why are you being such an asshole" Chloe asked out of nowhere. I laughed a bit when she asked this and soon Lucifer's son stood up.

"My name is Mammon and I challenge you to a duel!" He pointed at me of all people.

"What the hell is your problem, man!? You ignored my wife, and you've been rude to us this whole time. If you wanted to fight, then you should have just said so!" I grit my teeth, as I followed him towards the arena. I suddenly blocked an attack solely on instincts. This was the arena, fine.

"Use skill: Weapon Eyes. Use skill: Hell Laser x4." Another Hell Laser came and clashed with mine before dispersing. Silent Chanting is a bitch.

"Use skill: Conqueror Style- Doble Conquista del Infierno." Mammon fought me with a spear and shield.

"You almost pose a challenge!" This asshole is seriously irritating.

"Why are you acting like this?" Did I insult your mother by accident or something?

"Devils are supposed to be like this. My father is a poor example of a true devil! We are evil beings and that will never change! I can never change for the better! That's not an option for a race looked down on by the gods! Someone who's seen like a devil no matter what! I don't have the luxuries that you've had!" He dropped his weapons and punched me. I sheathed my swords before sending a punch right back.

     "Use skill: Lucky Dice

Strength, Speed, Defense, Magic Resistance, Intelligence, Critical, Wisdom

     3x

Rebound= 0x." I sent him flying away with the next punch, only to see him in front of me. I dodged to the side and tried to kick, only for it to be caught. He kicked my shoulder and I headbutted him.

"You little bitch!" He kneed my gut, while I kicked his side.

"You complain about not being able to change, but you're trying your hardest aren't you? You want to change! That's why you look so human! You want to prove to others that you can change, but how can you convince people if you can't even convince yourself! I was the biggest douchebag in my guild, I hurt people, I fucked people over, I insulted people, I barely didn't cross the line of killing one of my guild members! If I can change, then what's stopping you!" I sent a hard punch to his gut and kicked his face.

"What do you know about the life I've lived! You don't know anything!" I caught his fist and looked straight into his eyes, "If I'm so wrong, then why are your attacks becoming weaker? You want to believe that you can prove everyone wrong about you, but at the same time you're questioning if that's possible." He slumped and sent a punch to my face, as I countered. We both crashed to different sides and were about to end this fight with a final powerful blow, when neither attacks hit. We were stopped and the battle ended in a draw. We sat down and ate while trying to have conversations. Mammon didn't bother us for the rest of the feast.
