Chapter 10(15): Dragged away by a Mad Hatter Part 1

"May I ask you something?" I ask.

"Go ahead." Edward says still writing.

"Are you always a scary jerk?" I ask, his pen paused as his lips twitched.

"Are you always so blunt?" He asked in turn.

"Yep. So I take that as a yes. Which section of the library contains information that would be used in the written test?" I ask standing up.

"You want something that would help you? There are several books you are going to be questioned on, unfortunately all of which are to big to read through or summarise in the next two hours. So would you rather do something else that would be more productive towards the tests?" Edward asks now having sat his pen down and folded his arms in front of him, a stomach dropping smile on his face, and not in a good way. Ah, I know that look, how I have missed and dreaded it. As much as I like it, I very much hate it because of its meaning. I frowned in suspicion.

" I'm not sure, what do you have in mind,Edward?" I ask uncertainly. Last time he had that smile I nearly died and the time before that, the time before that and the countless other times before that one. Well actually the last time he had that smile I really did die, well not because of him, more because a certain person named after a flower decided to go all demoness on us. He stood up and came over towards me, placing both his hands on my shoulder, that smile still on his face along with a mischievous glint in his eyes that reminded me of a fox. I stood just bellow his jaw line so I had to strain my neck a little to look up at the distance between us, usually I wouldn't allow something like this but I'm way to used to him being the king and him doing absolutely everything he pleases to move away.

"Simple actually, all you have to do is stay alive for two hours and return with that time limit or you will receive a proper punishment. And trust me I can bring you back from the dead if you fail to return due to death." Edward said in a single breath. My eyes widened in horror but before I could react he pushed me and I fell through a portal that he had made. Oh shit! I sprung to my feet and lunged towards the portal but I rebounded as if it was made of a mana barrier.

"Ah and be weary of the creatures and the sun,it will set soon in this dimension and it would get terribly cold so I suggest you return quickly, Asher. Enjoy." He waved as the portal closed.

"You Bloody Mad Hatter! Madder than Lily,I tell you!" I shout since the portal had closed.

'Thats simply impossible, you said so yourself, remember?' Lily says indignantly.

"I remember and I mean it,it's just with this guy.....ugh. He can be a perfect jackass whenever the opportunity presents itself for his mischievous side to show up, at least it's much better than having to deal with his intimidating aura. But bloody hell, did he have to throw me in to another fudging dimension to practice my Space elements?" I crumble as Lily appeared in mana form next to me. We stood in ruins of an old city, made from steel and stone, shattered glass scattered around us and smoke billowed up in the distance as if the city was recently destroyed, but the decaying walls and floors told me otherwise. There was carriage like objects on the sides of the pavement path, like cars from the scientific world's. I blinked,he must've sent me to a scientific world....than how come it's destroyed like this? Please don't tell me that there are other creatures in this world similar to that of demons?

'I believe so,Asher,I feel several presences and each of them reeking off death and resurrection. But there is a medical scent attached to them so I assume it isn't necromancy or other mystical properties that had caused this,it's simply human idiocy. ' Lily says as she hovered next to me. I hummed in acknowledgement before unsheething my sword.

"Than you agree that they are not demons, therefore I can take care of them? I want to practice my other elements on them after all." I say as a single person came from the wreckage of ruins. It had almost completely decayed, all that was left was it's rotten meat, eye balls and it's measly cloth meant to hide it's private parts which it no longer had.

" Grrrrghrr...." It growled stumbling over its own feet, one of its bones in its arms was popped out of place and hanging limply on a tether on its side.

"Disgusting, almost like a blood wraith, it just doesn't have any skin that is as pale as snow or even the tell tale skinniness that they usually had,or the bloody claws painted black with their own kins matter,or the ability to fly and move quicker than a dragon. I cut through its chest but it continued to wriggle toward me even in its bloody state.

"Hai? It seems that it needs to be cut another way to die. But how?" I pondered, shrugging I stabbed it through its heart but it only wriggled closer it's stinking mouth agape, I saw some brain tissue in between its teeth and recoiled in disgust. Brain? I pulled the sword out and struck at its head, it fell like a rag doll,no longer moving. Blinking I leaned down in surprise.

"That was.... quick. Ah well the next one will be used to practice my elements before I try to jump through space. Oh potatoes! How am I supposed to get a feeling for space magic in empty air?!" I whined loudly.

' You know the 'empty air' your talking about is space right?' Lily asks me in a duh voice. I sighed.

"Yeah....but I don't feel it as vividly as I did in the teleportation station. Ah another has arrived. Do you think the entire human race was wiped from these sluggish dead ones?" I ask her as I stood up before lighting my sword up with a soft green fire and touching the corpse of the already laying one, setting it ablaze.

' Probably,I don't sense any human souls within a million kilometre radius from here. And that my dear friend is saying something.' Lily says.

" Hai, I don't care if Edward is the future king,I'm ripping him to shreds when I see him again! Bringing me here for training! Gah!" I grumbled before jamming my sword in to the earth, in between a jagged hole in the pavement floor.

An array of brown and red curled around me and then spread to the whole of the city.

' You forgot. He could have done much worse. Like I don't know, throwing you in to the world of the demons? Than you would truly suffer. This is more like entertainment.' Lily reminded me. I twitched as I remembered that one time when he had actually done exactly that. Edward has five elements, one is telekinesis, mind reading, water, sound and space. And he loves playing around with space especially when he punishes someone. The ground began to shake as the currents of air began to heat up gradually.

'Are you seriously considering incinerating everything?Instead of playing around like you said you will?' Lily asks.

"Nope, just gonna collapse about five buildings in on themselves to see how it feels, you know, experience? I'll set them alight with fire and increase the temperature for testing to see which fire has the most heat. Ice fire or Hell fire." I say grinning.

'You already have an answer to that question,Asher.' Lily tells me. Err, yeah, it's kind of obvious isn't it? The ground beneath more than a few buildings gave way, the structures falling in on themselves, the walls crumbling quickly on impact, shaking the ground as it did so. Okay that felt terrible, yet awesome, still never gonna do that again, though. The array slowly turned blue. The buildings that had fallen rapidly melting, under the assualt of the hell fire,I shifted the sword a little and the fires turned a cold brilliant blue, the melting buildings turned in to frozen falls, creating a horrific sight. It wasn't as simple as I made it out to be though. To shift the temperature of a fire bellow what was reasonable was like trying to fly without wings, without air magic, fire or sound, or in science without any air currents to provide lift or oil to ignite the fire that would give the plane it's boast. Why is it like this? Because you need to know what fire is meant for,to be able to shift the temperature to such a low degree. Fire is life, not literally, but it needs oxygen or rather gasses and depending on what gas you give it....its temperature will either rapidly increase or decrease. In this case I gave the array a little bit of air magic's sub element, helium and frost hydrogen. Adding the wrong amount would usually cause the array to backfire on you along with the factor of earth magic, collapse having been used, if I had done one thing wrong, even something as simple as creating the ruins, visualisating their effects and inserting the right amount of mana in each of them, I would probably have gone.....boom. This is what magic practitioners usually call tire 6 magic. And I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to be able to do that just yet,but with my traveling the different bridges and learning different things over the years, this was basically child's play,in a sense. But also a very great burden on my body at the moment.....I think I overdid it... a little. Black spots swam in my vision, the world spun as my legs gave way,I stumbled and fall against a barely standing car. Darkness took over for a few minutes as I gathered more mana.

'You didn't just over do it, Asher. You could have died with such a high out put of magical energy at your level,be happy you have me, otherwise you'd have to re-cross the Hell fire bridge and do the past few days all over again.' Lily says smugly in my mind.

' Fudge off,I was experimenting.' I mumbled.

' You mean to have said trying to commit suicide. Actually,if I remember correctly,Edward said he has a way to bring you back, do you think that's true?' Lily asks genuinely curious.

"Nope. Not possible. Don't you remember how many people have died in our first life because of these punishments Edward always gave out? No one can be resurrected unless you use necromancy, which no one ever would unless it's in times of emergencies." I say gaining my bearings again, along with a splitting headache. Damn, that hurts. Standing up shakily I looked around to find the dead ones walking slowly towards the still ablaze buildings, some still freezing while the rest were turning in to molten metal. Oi...I didn't mean for the spell to go on for so long,I pulled the sword out of the ground and the array vanished along with the flames, yet the beasties still moved towards the buildings. Ah well, might as well move about. I turned on my heels and began to marsh in the opposite direction.
