I curse you both with unhappiness!

After the question escaped his lips, he realised what he had just done and cringed in embarrassment.

Lisa stared blankly at him. The look she gave him could probably pass for her 'surprised face'.

Did it concern him whether she slept in someone else's house or not? So why was he asking all of a sudden?

"It's not like I'm being curious or something." He quickly explained to her in a loud and awkward voice.

"So if you don't want to answer it, then it's fine."

He waited patiently for a few seconds, and when Lisa continued to look at him like that without saying anything, he turned to leave.

He only succeeded in taking two steps forward before he turned to face her again.

"So....?" He tilted his head to the side slightly as he asked.

"So?" She asked back in her natural tone.

Tom sighed in frustration. Was she dumb or was she pretending to be dumb?

He began to scratch the back of his neck awkwardly as he asked again.

"Did you sleep at his place?"

He was very sure he would be restless the entire day if he didn't know the answer.

"Is that supposed to concern you? That should be my private life right?" She asked back in a calm voice.

Tom nodded almost immediately. "It concerns me."

Lisa could not understand him one bit.

She didn't know what to say to him right now. And, she was already tired of the conversation.

She had told him she was going to spend the day with her 'boyfriend' so there was a possibility she had spent the night with him since she had no family right?

She thought it wouldn't make much sense to tell him that she had spent the night in her deserted and lonely apartment with her dog, Spike.

"We spent the night together" She answered flatly.

His eyes bulged out immediately.

"What!? You slept in a man's house?" He asked in a tone of utter disbelief.

"I did" She replied.

"What?" He raised his voice again.

Lisa began to wonder what the hell was wrong with him.

"Is there a problem Mr Hwang?"

"Hell yea there's a problem! How could you sleep over at a man's house?" He scolded while pointing an accusing finger at her.

"He is my boyfriend." She replied through fritted teeth as she tried her best to contain her temper.

"That doesn't mean he is a good guy. Look Germany—" He moved closer to where she was standing.

He had wanted to say..

'You deserve a better guy. That guy is not a good person'

But he decided against it.

But he was really disappointed in her— For having a boyfriend.

He looked at her with pursed lips before nodding and turning to return to his room.

"Is he okay?'' Lisa looked at his back in confusion.

How did it concern him if she slept in a man's house or not? And why was he overreacting?

She sighed and decided to push out those thoughts from her mind. She congratulated herself for not hitting him for raising his voice at her.

As she was about leaving the kitchen, she opened the fridge to check for the chocolate she would feast on tonight.

She realised she didn't really like the ones she kept at her house anymore.

As much as she hated to admit it, Tom's choice of chocolate was far better and sweeter than hers.

After opening the fridge, a tiny smile appeared on her face as she pointed at the three chocolates she would be having fun with later that night.

But for now, she had to go get dressed since they both had to go out.

***************

Tom slumped on his bed immediately he entered inside his room.

He didn't know why he felt betrayed.

But how could she sleep in another man's house when she was also sleeping at his?

"I curse you both with unhappiness!" He said angrily.

His phone began to ring and he checked uninterestedly to see who the caller was.

It was unexpectedly Amanda Park— A very nice distraction.

"Hey" He heard her sweet voice immediately he answered the call and sat up.

"Hey. Good morning."

After exchanging pleasantries, she went on to ask,

"You going to be free today?"

"Hmm.. No. There's an event being organised by my father. I have to be there soon." He explained.

"Oh. I heard about it from my Mother. Never knew you went to places like that. I mean, they're old people who are almost at the verge of their deaths" Amanda began to giggle.

Tom didn't think there was anything funny in that statement.

They were going to a nursing home to go spend time with the 'patients' there. He hadn't wanted to go because he knew his father wouldn't have gone there if he wasn't contesting for the election.

But it was also the same reason why he had to go.

He had made a deal with his father and the deal could only function if he behaved himself until after the election; and that included supporting his father in all his hypocritical movements.

"Hello? You still here? Why are you so quiet?" Amanda asked when she heard nothing from his side.

"I'm still here, sorry. Are you going?"

"Do you want me to?" From the way she sounded, he could tell she was smiling.

Remembering how pretty she looked whenever she smiled, he smiled also.

"Sure. You could come around if you're free."

"Since you're begging, I guess I'd have to agree. Mother always said not to make it difficult for guys; especially the ones who—" She let her words trail off and began to giggle.

"Who what?" He asked inquisitively.

"Nothing. I'll see you there. But remember you still owe me a date." She reminded him.

When the call ended, he stared into space blankly.

His mind was black. He wasn't thinking anything. Or maybe he was, but he didn't know what he was thinking about.

Amanda had asked for him to pick her up because she wanted them to go there together.

He didn't think much of it and agreed to do so. He would just ask Germany to drop by Amanda's house first so they could all go together.

He remembered Anna's words, telling him to stop bothering Germany and focus on Amanda instead.

Maybe he had been so bored and that was the reason he had been so curious about Germany.

Since Amanda was here now, he believed he would finally stop bothering himself with whoever his bodyguard was dating.

Anyways, it was time to go get ready, so he stood up and went through his bathroom's door.
