Lee Nana And Mi Cha

"So, have you decided on the kind of house you would want to get or the area you would love to get the house?" Tan asked Mi Cha the next day morning as they drove to Seoul.

"Not exactly, but I don't want anything big for now. I want to lie low until I get my major break. Why do you like driving yourself?" Mi Cha asked, turning to look at him.

"I don't think everything should be done for me simply because I can afford it. I just like to have my own freedom," Tan said with a shrug as he kept driving.

"I see we have a lot in common; that's a very good thing, you know?" Mi Cha said, giving him a big smile.

"So what's the plan? How do you intend to find her? And what can I help you with?" Mi Cha asked, looking at him with interest.

"I'll have to stop at the 'Hire A Girlfriend' office; I have to talk to her boss, whoever he is... For now, that's all I can do. You can go about your business; if or when I need your help, I'll let you know... Thanks a lot," He said as an afterthought.

"By the way, do you know your way around? How do you intend to go around Seoul without a car, looking for a realtor?" He asked, casting a worried glance her way.

It was either he was beginning to get the hang of the big brother thing, or maybe he was caring and would have done so for a total stranger too.

"You don't have to worry about me. I'll be living in Seoul soon, so I'll have to learn how to get around independently. Besides, I could get a cab that would take me around all day. That shouldn't be too difficult to do," She said with a smile.

"You're sure you'll be fine by yourself? You have my number; you have to call me if you so much as find out you took a wrong turn," Tan said, fixing his gaze on her until she was forced to promise to call.

Tan dropped her off by the roadside, where she could quickly get a cab before driving off.

A few minutes later, she stopped a cab and got into it. Mr. Lee turned to her, "Where are you going?" He asked her pleasantly.

"I'm not very familiar with the environment. Please take me to any good real estate agency around; I need the services of a realtor. I'll like you to take me around," She said as he started driving.

"That's fine. I will take you over to my daughter's workplace. She's a good realtor," She said with a proud smile.

"I guess I'm in luck then," She said, turning to look outside the window as he drove.

"My daughter's name is Nana; she's wonderful and smart," Mr. Lee said.

"She sounds amazing."

"Oh! Yes, she is. She is all I have, my precious daughter with a heart of gold. I have no idea what I would do without her."

Mi Cha just listened to him without saying a word. She knew how it went; proud parents always wanted to tell anyone that cared to hear about their kids. Her mother was fond of it, so she couldn't fault the man.

Soon Mr. Lee pulled up the car in front of Nana's office, "You can go inside. When you get there, ask for Miss Lee Nana... I won't mind if you tell her her father sent her a client," He said, smiling in a way that made the corner of his eyes crinkle.

She could tell he was a cheerful person. "I'll surely tell her that. Please, you'll have to wait to carry me when I'm done," She said with a smile as she got out of the car.

Mi Cha walked inside the building; everywhere was abuzz with activity, and everyone was either going somewhere or doing something. It almost felt like a crime to interrupt anyone to ask a question.

"Excuse me, I'm searching for Miss Lee Nana," She said to the first person she felt she could approach.

"Why are you searching for her? Do you need a house, or do you want to sell one? I could help you; you don't need to see her," The man said with a sly smile.

"That won't be necessary; I came specifically to see her. If you don't mind, can you point me in her direction?" Mi Cha said with a straight face. She didn't like him one bit; he smiled like a thief.

"Who are you looking for?" Nana, passing by Mr. Sly's table, asked when she overheard Mi Cha's question.

Mi Cha turned to look at her; the lady had a pleasant countenance. "Please, I'm here to meet Miss Lee Nana. Can you take me to her?" She asked with a small smile on her face.

"Well, you're just in luck. I'm the one you seek. What was he telling you?" She asked cocking her head in Mr. Sly's direction. After Mi Cha told her what he had said, she turned to him.

"One of these days, I'm going to give you a well-deserved punch. Just keep trying to steal my clients," She said to him as she walked away, with Mi Cha following closely behind her.

Mi Cha liked her already. She knew her stuff, and she obviously wasn't one of those women who were easily intimidated by men. Mi Cha hoped they could be friends. She could do with a friend like this when she eventually moved over.

"So, what can I do for you?" Nana asked with a broad smile as she offered Mi Cha a seat.

"Well, I needed a realtor, and your father brought me here. I need a house here in Seoul, and I don't know my way around here," She said.

"What kind of house do you want?" Nana asked as she opened her books to go through the list of available homes that were up for sale.
