The next day while having a stroll around the city a man with a scar running across his face stopped and blocked Richards way forward.
"Hey there kid, why don't you come along with big brother and I'll buy you some meat skewers." The man said while trying to give a kind mile which just made his face look scary.
Stumped at the man trying to lure him away from the crowded street, Richard wondered if even a three year old would want to follow him.
Another man with a great beard stepped forward and looking at Richards face he started laughing which prompted an angry glare from the scar faced man.
"Hahaha, I told you he wouldn't wanna follow your ugly face anywhere. Should have just left me do the talking."
Seemingly angered at his partners words he stepped forward and strongly gripped Richards left arm and started pulling him towards an alley, almost lifting him of the ground as he pulled him along.
"You should have just given me some face and come along when I asked, now I am gonna have to give you some pain to teach you a lesson!"
Shocked at the turn of events Richard had missed his opportunity to run away. He was pretty sure he could outrun them but with him already caught and with the strength of a ten year old child he had no way to escape. Contemplating if he should use one of his few scrolls or wait for a chance to run he decided to ask the obvious question.
"Why are you doing this and where are you taking me?"
The bearded man grinned and seemed all to happy to explain what was happening.
"We've been following you around for the last week, clothes while a bit torn fancier then even the city owner, no guards or protection of any kind and a baby face. Your either a runaway from a rich house from which we can probably extort a good ransom from, and even if your not or you refuse to tell us who to ask the ransom from. We can make a good amount of taels simply selling you as a slave or sell you to the red district where they can teach you how to work for a living servicing old ladies."
He seemed mighty proud of what they were doing as his grin just grew larger and larger as he prattled on.
"Yeah, an untouched baby face like this. Is probably worth at least a few hundred taels of silver! We'll be able to live good for at least a few months from this." The man with the scar stated.
"It sounds to this great aunt as if you two don't have any feelings of goodwill towards this boy." A smooth voice said as the sound of a sword being drawn followed her statement.
Turning around the three of them found themselves staring at a woman dressed in a purple robe standing there with a sword drawn and pointing it towards them.
With cascading black hair that framed in a face with smooth facial features, small nose and full lips. Her cute face coupled with a half sneer plastered across it made her look almost adorable. From her bronzed colored skin it could be assumed that she was and outdoor kind of person. Her body seemed a bit mismatched with her face however as she looked as tall as the men who had captured him, making her out to be around six feet tall.
With broad shoulders she lacked the delicate look coupled with her great ravine and protruding hips she even looked chubby except that looking at her ankles and arms that could be seen were both smooth but also had clear muscular outlines from what could only be guessed having come from hours of sword practice which made the parts where every once of fat on her body seemed to be gathering all the more eye catching.
"Haha, look at this idiot daddy is gonna make both money and get to have some fun for free tonight." The bearded man said leacherly while licking his lips.
The woman on the other hand ignored his remark and upon looking at Richard gave a smile as sweet as sugar but with a hint of something indescribable in her eyes.
Richard could feel goose bumps running across his arms as his heart filled with a great deal of dread he had never ever felt before, as if a great predator was eyeing him.
"Don't you worry this will be over before you know it and then we'll go and get some meat skewers together!" The woman stated assuredly.
Hearing the all to similar words again Richard could only bemoan that he had gotten out of the frying pan and into the fire.
Angered at being ignored the two men drew out short daggers from their sleeves and threateningly pointed them at her.
"Heh, listen here you little bi-"
Before the scar faced man could finish his sentence the woman had stabbed her swords towards him. Small static charges seemed to gather along the blades length before being shot out of the blades tip at great speed forming a phantom sword made up of blueish lightning that flew forward and within the blink of an eye penetrated through the mans throat leaving behind a hole almost the size of a small fist with burn marks around it's edge. Blood flooded out as only gurgling sounds could be heard as he tried to finish his sentence while collapsing.
Shocked at his companion being killed the bearded man seemed confused on what to do before horror filled his face and he fell to his knees.
"Pl-please honorable immortal spare this little insignificant person I sw-" Moving forward the woman simply swung her sword and this time seemed to use a bit more of her peculiar powers as the whole sword looked like a lightning bolt which she used to decapitate the man cutting his pleading short. This time no blood came out as the mans now headless neck and the end of the head parts seemed to have been burned shut so no blood could spill out.
Giving a condescending smile the woman suddenly grew a bit nervous as she realized that Richard might grow scared of her because of the cruel scene she had just shown him. Turning around she gave a sigh of relief that he seemed to watch her with great interest instead of fear.
Richard on the other hand was struggling to not use up his scroll of true sight this very moment to get a look at her inner workings. He was also hesitant to barrage her with the vast amount of question stuck in his throat.
A clapping sound entered their ears as a few youngsters stepped into the alley wearing the same kind of purple robe as the woman which made it clear that they were one group.
"Good job senior sister being the hero to save the damsel in distress err I mean being the great heroine who saves the flower boy." Said the one who looked to be the leader of the group mockingly.
"Yes, thank you very much fairy maiden for saving my life" Richard said while bowing and cupping his hands towards her while calling her what the inn patrons said that female immortals were supposed to be called.
Silence filled the alley as the woman seemed shocked at his words. The group of youngster who had just arrived started to laugh hysterically at his words upon which the woman face turned beet red.
"Hahaha, kid yo-you hahaha, you'd call that tyrannosaurus a fairy maiden?" One of the other youngster asked him.
Ignoring their words and laughter her face seemed to twitch a bit as she tried to kindly smile towards him. Moving closer she started to stroke his head.
"There, there little brother this big au- I mean big sister only did what is right, come call me big sister and I'll take care of you."
"Bwhaha, big sister? Lei Eu-meh who are you trying to fool your more then old enough to be his mo-" Apparently angered at his words the woman flashed before Richards eye quickly delivering a punch that sent the leader flying before flashing back as if nothing had happened to stroke his head, she quickly glared at the other youngsters as if to warn them.
Trying to stifle their laughter, their bodies shacked constantly leading to the swords at their waists clatter as if the swords were laughing instead of their owners. The leader not caring a wit for her glare simply rolled around laughing on the ground while periodically wincing while holding his stomach.
