Chapter 31 - A Cultivation Skill

Tian Longmeng eyed the procession but his attention became fixed on a girl decked in black and purple robes. She gave the impression of a sheltered noble princess; however, Tian Longmeng could easily see that she was far from the ordinary.

"She almost as strong as *Snowfield. She is definitely the strongest one here." Tian Longmeng inwardly thought. This girl was Qin Qingtian who was slated to go next.

"Wow, what a beauty." Many people could not help but blurt out as she calmly walked on the stage. They were immediately reprimanded by their friends. "Are you dumb? That is Qin Qingtian. Do you want to be killed?"

Qin Qingtian scanned the boulder for a while before turning to Instructor Cheng with a slight tilt of her head. "Do I have to punch it?"

Instructor Cheng, who was taken aback by her serenity, sprang back to life. "Oh no, you do not have to. However, you are not allowed to use external weapons."

Qin Qingtian seemed pleased with that response and replied, "Oh that will be fine," while adjusting herself towards the boulder once more. She did not do any exaggerated motions but simply stood and removed her glove from her right hand.

Everyone gazed in awe at her simple movements. Tian Longmeng apparently did not receive the memo of how to fawn at people though.

Qin Qingtian closed her eyes and then traced a circle in the center of the boulder. After which she replaced the glove on her hand and proceeded to walk away from the boulder. "That is it. I do not need another attempt." She said to Instructor Cheng.

Confusion was everywhere; she did not even do anything to the boulder until, "Bam!"

A loud explosive sound resounded from the boulder and almost deafened the crowd. Many were on the ground holding their heads in pain and some were dizzily swaying around. No one understood what happened. All Qin Qingtian did was to draw her finger along the boulder so nothing should have happened.

"A cultivation skill! Qin Qingtian used a cultivation skill!" One of the more knowledgeable applicants shouted after closer inspection.

"Wow, that is amazing. Qin Qingtian already knows a cultivation skill."

"Well, that is a genius for you." People gradually picked up conversation as soon as their headache subsided. Qin Qingtian knowing a cultivation skill at her age could be considered monstrous. This was because cultivation skills can only be learned through a lot of effort and strength.

It would take any of these applicants almost 2 years to learn a simple cultivation skill. Even worse, they would have to be at the Mortal Apprentice Realm before they could even attempt learning one.

On the other hand, Qin Qingtian already knew a cultivation skill despite being only 13 years of age. It was as if Zhou Wei's performance never happened to begin with.

One keen applicant caught on to something. "Wait, was not Qin Qingtian's strength on the level of a Mortal Apprentice as well? Probably even a Mid Mortal Apprentice."

"That would mean that she is the most talented genius to enter the opening examinations." Heated discussions were had all over the place to the point that it became the norm.

However, that fact was true. The most talented genius to enter Tang Fei Martial Academy was a girl with an Early Mortal Apprentice Realm cultivation 3 years ago. If Qin Qingtian was a Mid Mortal Apprentice like what everyone is suspecting then she would set the record for the most talented.

In the midst of all the ramblings, Instructor Cheng cleared his throat and read the score. "Qin Qingtian, 1274 jins."

"What!!!" The whole training ground shook under the unison of everyone's exclamation. That would mean that Qin Qingtian broke another record in one go. The original strength record was 924 jins, so Qin Qingtian's amazing feat shattered that record.

Under this stupor, Zhou Wei was over at a reasonably secluded spot where the other nobles stood, with a contorted face. Just when he had put in all his blood and sweat to stomp the Qin and Lu families, Qin Qingtian came around and utterly crushed him in both cultivation and talent.

"Damn you Qin, watch how I will put you under my feet." Zhou Wei gritted his teeth as he glared at Qin Qingtian who was calmly descending from the platform. Zhou Wei probably would be regretting this statement if he knew what would happen to him in the future.

"Next." Instructor Cheng continued with the list; however, no one came up or even declared their resignation. Instructor Cheng awkwardly repeated, "Uhh, Next. Tian Longmeng?"

*Snowfield is the nickname for Si Xuexi
