Chapter 32 - 1956 jins

"Huh." Tian Longmeng was too busy rejoicing inwardly that someone could actually hit over 1200 jins that he forgot his place in the line. He quickly jumped onstage while trying to cover up his newfound joy. He, however, could not hide his fidgeting which easily became misunderstood as fear.

Instructor Qin had been observing Tian Longmeng for a while so he adjusted himself to see what this child would do. The other instructors saw Tian Longmeng and just concluded that he was an unfortunate child who had to go after Qin Qingtian.

Tian Longmeng gleefully turned his head towards Instructor Cheng and gave his greetings. "Humble greetings. I noticed that other people did not have to make three attempts. Is that something everyone can do or is it just for nobles?"

Everyone was completely caught off-guard by the ridiculous question proposed by this child. The applicants thought to themselves that this child was overstepping his place, while the instructors thought that Tian Longmeng had gone crazy after seeing Zhou Wei and Qin Qingtian.

Even Instructor Qin was trumped as to Tian Longmeng's intentions. Instructor Cheng could barely utter a yes while his mind was wandering, "who let this crazy child in here?"

Before anyone could begin Tian Longmeng's crucifixion, he already got into the zone and released all of his energy at once. A large gust of wind instantly silenced anyone who was about to raise a point.

"Then this should do it." Tian Longmeng shouted in excitement before thrusting with so much power that the boulder had a web of cracks.

"Rumble." The whole ground literally shook and everyone lost balance due to the sudden tremors and sheer wind pressure of the punch.

"What the hell was that? It was like a storm went past us." The applicants and instructors became disheveled and thought that what transpired was some kind of freak illusion. Adversely, Instructor Qin was completely blown out of his wits.

"How can this child lash out such powerful strength? He is only a Mid Mortal Practitioner!" Instructor Qin felt that he was no longer looking at someone human but some anomaly. There should have been no way a Mortal Practitioner commoner could upstage a Mortal Apprentice who was from the four great noble families; however, it happened right before Instructor Qin's eyes.

Other instructors were similarly baffled at the facts laid before them. One is a noble prodigy who had been cultivating all her life and had reached the Mid Mortal Apprentice Realm. Another is a commoner child who could not possibly have more resources than Qin Qingtian, and he was also significantly younger than her.

Not to mention the fact that he is a whole realm lower than she is!

There should be no way Tian Longmeng could be stronger, yet that was not the reality before them.

Instructor Cheng was dumbfounded and could not respond for a while until a disciple tapped his shoulder with a paper. Instructor Cheng jolted back to reality once more and began to read the score on the paper in utter astonishment.

"One thou- 1956 jins!!!" Instructor Cheng almost choked on air from gasping too hard.

Nobody could blame him though, because everyone else was similarly going through a mental overload. Screams and outbursts were so strong that the guards by the city gates could hear them faintly.

Tian Longmeng, who was now covering his ears, realized that he might have gone excessively overboard. Originally, he planned to restrict his strength to just under 800 jins, but it seems that when Qin Qingtian amassed 1274 jins, he completely lost his composure and accidentally punched with his full force.

In hindsight, apart from the ear-splitting screams, Tian Longmeng did not regret this decision. That was because in the heat of the moment, Tian Longmeng crammed a massive amount of essence straight into his body and managed to burst into the Peak Bone Forging Stage.

Tian Longmeng ran off the field bashfully and tried to remain as inconspicuous as before, which failed miserably.

Lu Yan took the initiative to walk up and punch a conservative 940 jins before calmly walking back to Qin Qingtian's side. Now with the majority of the rest just quitting, the first test was swiftly finished.

*1 jin is equivalent to 1 pound or 500 grams. To contextualize, 2000 jins is 1 tonne.
