Handsome stranger

They reached the restaurant and because the front parking lot was full, they drove to the underground parking lot. When they were about to step outside of the car, Chris called her. She picked up and put it on speaker.

"Mam, I need your help here. There's something wrong with this man. He drove here and found a tall guy and started beating him. I don't think of something that I can do.", he said in one breath.

They both were shocked. Jonathan took out his phone and traced Chris's location.

" He's here somewhere.", he said.

"Okay Chris, listen. No need to get afraid. We are also in the parking lot you just need to stop the fight.", Crystal said.

" Okay mam", Chris replied.

He took a deep breath and came out from where he was hiding. He placed his phone near his ear pretending to attend a call and slammed his hand on the bonet of the car as if he was furious upon something.

"Why are you girls always like this ? Not accepting their mistakes, what do you think? Am I a fool??", he yelled as if having a fight with his girlfriend.

Mr. Nicholas stopped beating the man and turned around to see who was there. Chris seemed like he haven't saw them yet so Mr. Nicholas waited for him to go.

" Sorry sir, I haven't disturbed you; have I?", Chris said putting his phone in his pocket.

"No no, not at all. We both are friends and met each other after 10 years so we went to have a drink but this friend drank more than his capacity... haha", he tried to explain the situation.

" Let us escort your friend home, sir.", Jonathan spoke as he and Crystal walked towards them.

Seeing both of them, Mr. Nicholas broke out in a cold sweat. "I'm afraid I've to turn your offer down. I don't want to waste your time."

While they were busy talking, Crystal looked at the man lying on the car bonet. His perfectly toned arm muscles were visible from outside his shirt. Because of his breathing, his chest was moving up and down which meant he was alive.

"Seeing his physique, it is impossible for Nicholas to out-strength him.", she thought and went to him to check any sort of injury.

Seeing her going towards the man, Nicholas tried to stop her but soon Chris came and dragged him away from the man. Jonathan also helped Chris to keep Nicholas away for a moment.

When Crystal touched his neck to check his pulse, his body temperature was less than normal and his breathing also became slow. Seeing him in that stage, she yelled," We need to get him to hospital now. He isn't drunk."

As soon as they heard it, Chris handcuffed Nicholas and took him to his car and snatched his phone and checked for any other possible weapons.

Jonathan rushed towards her and helped her carry that man to an open place.

They placed him under a tree and Crystal called for an ambulance.

Soon the ambulance arrived and he was sent to hospital.

Jonathan tried to send Crystal to the hospital with that man saying he don't want to involve her with Ryan.

"I'll be going to meet Sergeant Thomas. You stay at the hospital. We've to take his statement when he comes to his sense."

"But I have to go to meet him. Atleast I have to go today. Let Chris come to hospital. Besides I can't run from him all my life.", she said frowning.

Jonathan nodded and Crystal called Chris to tell him go stay with that man at the hospital.

At evening when they went to Thomas's house, they saw a black car already parked infront of the house. They parked behind it and went inside.

Ryan was already inside talking with Thomas.

"You two are quite punctual", Thomas said seeing his wrist watch.

" It's rare to get a compliment from you, sir." ,Jonathan said smiling.

Both Ryan and Crystal saw each other and she averted her gaze. Ryan smirked as he checked her out from head to toe.

"I've asked you all to come here to work as a team.", Thomas said.

" You are working on the cases which are connected with each other. So its better to help each other." ,he continued.

Crystal's eyes widened when she heard this.

"I'll be more than happy to help my colleagues.", Ryan said.

" But..", Jonathan couldn't even complete when Crystal interrupted, "We agree with the suggestion, sir."

Jonathan looked at her with disbelief and frowned. On the other hand, Ryan's eyes twinkled. "Great, then lets meet somewhere to enhance our bonding. It'll help in the case also"

"Sorry to disappoint you, but I would like to keep it professional, sir. And I don't think we must be increasing our bond when people are disappearing like this.", she said.

" I like the way you are dedicated to your duties. So let's exchange the information then" Thomas said and they exchanged the case files.

Jonathan told them each and every details leaving the information about the man they rescued from Nicholas. When Crystal was about to speak, she pressed her hand telling her not to say anything about that incident.

Later, when they departed from Thomas's house, Crystal asked him the reason why he left out that particular incident and he answered," First of all I don't trust Ryan with all the information and second thing is that we have to protect that man no matter what. What was Nicholas going to do to him?"

"By the way, why do you agreed to work with that psycho?", Jonathan asked her.

" I want to face him and besides it's my duty to find out those people no matter what", she replied.

"You sure are something", he winked

"Okay, so I'll go to the hospital to check upon his state.", she said.

" Hmm. Don't stay out late and call me if anything happens.", Jonathan tossed his car keys towards her.

"What? How will you go home then?", she asked catching the keys.

" I'll call a cab. And your safety is always the first priority ", he said smiling.

When she reached the hospital, she went to the doctor before going to that man's room.

The doctor told her that he was kept starving from 2 days and they found a drug that is responsible for hallucinations and memory loss, in his blood.

" He is fine now but he won't regain consciousness until 3-4 days. The drug given to him was very powerful and drained all his energy besides he had not eaten anything too. So to make him recover faster, we have purposely put him in sleep for some days. And we are giving him antibiotics too.", the doctor explained.

She went to the room where he was kept and saw Chris yawning. Clearing her throat, she entered the room. Chris immediately sat straight when he saw her coming.

"Thank you for your help Chris, you may go now. Have some rest. I'll stay here for some time.", she said with a gentle smile.

" Okay mam, please let me know if there is anything", and he left.
