Awakening (2 in 1)

When he woke up, Roderick made himself a ham sandwich and orange juice for breakfast. Then he headed to where he left the cauldron with the blood and stored it all in a single bottle. If what was written in the book was real, then the contents of this bottle could not just release his body's potential as it may help him regain his right hand. You could even say this bottle could upgrade his genes. Others would not know, but with his dad as an explorer, he knew things others could not know, like how the humans of the past nearly mastered the power of manipulating genetics to make them more powerful or attractive with a single injection. Some of them lasted until the present as the higher ups has some of injections the explorers collected in a secret vault. Without wasting time, he covered the windows. Rose the bottle to his mouth and drunk all of it.

"Kukjdjhjfsda!" The thick blood went down his throat like lava before the heat spread out. Pain devoured his entire body in a matter of seconds. His flesh and bones shook as he could see nothing but red. A thin layer of red stone appeared on his skin and spread over his entire body turning him into a blood red statue. A few minutes later the layer of red stone fell down with his old skin leaving a shiny and lustrous skin in its place, but for his unlucky there was still an arm missing. After recovering from the pain, Roderick ran to the bathroom to stare at the mirror only to see he was the same, but with better skin, it looks like a bronze statue that you would find in ancient Greece with a piece or other missing like his right arm.

"Arg!" Breaking the mirror. Roderick could not handle another failure again as he didn't notice a faint blue light that lit his eyes for a split second before it was gone. Suddenly, he felt the sensation of death coming closer when he immediately bends down just to escape a bright green bullet that vanished after breaking a hole in his wall.

"You fucker! I will have to pay for this shit!" Then another three shots followed the first and many holes appeared on his wall but soon they vanished. Realizing those people were him to kill him, he could not see them so he ran out the apartment as he felt a dozen shadows following him from above. From the way they moved, they were all elemental masters.

"Shit! Who would send elemental masters to kill me. It must be a joke." He could not believe somebody could be wasteful enough to have elemental masters kill. With the money they have been paid even himself would take the money and commit suicide. Soon, he realized the streets were too empty for this hour of the day. People should be leaving for work now, but no one other than him could be seen in the neighborhood.

"A formation." It seems those killers were prepared enough to set up a formation just for him what made no sense. Reaching the docks, he stopped as he hit a dead end and stared at the shadows behind him.

"Why are you doing this?" He tried to ask just before he felt hit him in the knee making him fall on the ground.

"We are the envoys that serve the beasts, the true overlords of this era. We had to disguise ourselves as assassins working under the Blaze family in order to kill you. I'm sorry kid, but you should blame yourself for having been born with the power to threaten the beast gods and our present society." A man walked out the shadows, it was a priest in red robes holding a deep red fireball in his hand as he slowly walked toward Roderick.

"Power? Threaten? How can you say something like this when I can't even walk. My life turned into a complete hell just because I was born incompatible with elemental power so how can you say I can threaten gods? I'm just a cripple." Without hearing him, the man walked closer and was about to burn him into ashes when a light green arrow came out of nowhere and hit him in the head before his body turned into smoke and a dozen bodies just like he appeared. In front of Roderick, his mind stopped working as the most beautiful woman he had seen in his life appeared before his eyes.

Holding her bow, a blue-haired female wearing an ivory mask stared at the priest with a valiant and noble air. Shooting another couple of arrows, she engaged in close combat as his body shone with a light green light. Her every move was graceful and fluid in a way he couldn't explain.

"What are you doing here aiming at innocent people. It seems your church has grown more and more arrogant to make an assassination attempt in daylight." She shot another arrow, but this time a bullet was shot from the shadows and broke the arrow in half as wind blades came from behind just before she jumped in time to escape having her left cut out.

"Artemis, you may be one of Eden's biggest talents but you are still a baby compared to us. Step back and let my people finish what we came to do, we just want that boy. We know you can't defeat all of us." Turning her eyes to the boy, she saw how much he was bleeding and knew if she fought those people, he would die before help arrived. They may have given a way out for her, but she not even stopped to consider it. As a guardian of Eden, she would never let down it's people trust. She only thought of how she could save him and this made Roderick happy, but he gathered all his strengths to say something he never would in another situation.

"I'm happy that someone tried to help me, but i'm okay. There is no way I can escape them with so much third stage elemental masters wanting my death. Even if you save me now, one day they would still kill me, so go away and let them finish what they started."It was never so hard to say something as he said now. Feeling his body, even weaker, he knew he would soon die so it was better to let the person who tried to save him live if he would die either way.

Artemis felt a pain in her heart as she saw the boy she never met before had already given up life as she took small crystal and smashed it. It truth, she spent all her power on the last arrows and could not shoot anymore. She would really die if she fought them this way, so she smashed the only crystal she was given in order to call her seniors.

While she awaited for them, Roderick saw how many strikes she took as she defended him even if it takes her life. She was not protected because she found him cute or liked him, she was simply helping because he was one of the people she swore to protect, even if she dies in the process.

Cursing himself for being such a trash, he watch Artemis breath grow weaker when weaker when he felt a pang hit him in the head and his vision blurred. In a world surrounded by darkness, a thin ball of light-blue light floated far away overflowing with gentleness. A red and fiery light gathered into the shape of fire while a brown and green light appeared beside the other two. With the four lights far, far away.

A spark of sky-blue light with the size of a fingernail appeared right before him. Different from the gentle light-blue, this was the deepest shade of blue he had seen and radiated a otherworldly arrogance and grandeur as it thought any other light in that place was worthless before it.

Feeling a connection with this light, Roderick felt like he was staring at a reflection of himself before the light expanded.

The mask on Artemis wore had broken in the fight revealing a face that could topple kingdoms with its beauty even if it was drenched with blood as it was in the moment. Knowing she had chosen death in battle, she could not even move as a green bullet was shot at her head just before a burst of deep blue light coming from behind as the bullet vanished.

The priests stared in horror at the source of blue light, the figure of a young man with one arm bathed in blue light, while sparks of lightning flowed throughout his body as he stared at his enemies with his radiant blue eyes emanating constant energy. Artemis stared at behind the figure behind her and could not believe what she saw, it was as if a war god had descended among mortals.

In his hand, he was holding the bullet shot at her head before he smashed it with any effort. Looking at the priest with contempt, a scary and beastly howl invaded their heads as the human form beast clad in lightning rushed like faster than anything they ever saw and kicked the only third stage and an elemental master of fire in the head.

The entire docks was silent as the sound of a skull breaking rang in their ears before the red-robed priest's lifeless body fell together with the other two wind-element elemental masters before all the lightning and light around him retracted inside his body or more specifically that dark space before his consciousness turned off and he fell like a machine out of the plug.
