Arriving in the Death Zone

Having explained about the heavily armed force heading toward one of the death zones, Roderick's small crew was in deep thought.

Mystic was the first to step forward, asking. "I understand what you said, but aren't we forgetting something?"

Roderick stood still for a few seconds before he realized something, he slapped himself. "Oh... Right, we have to move the prisoners first. Mystic will take the prisoners to the installation in the mountain and have the droids clean the scene, then Lisa and Cassius can take my flying bike to Eden and warn them that a the church mobilized a dozen kings and an unknown figure to head to the Amazon Death Continent. Only Sharon will drive the ship with the help of the droid. And I don't want others out of this room to know what we found down there, understood?"

"Yes, sir!" Hearing his orders, they all agreed. Truth be told, they all wanted to head to the death zone with Roderick and investigate what was happening, but they knew what he said right now was the best. Even Mystic who trained him had a look of admiration in her eyes. But they knew he only did this, Roderick didn't want the guardians or the figure behind the guardians to know he did find the serum or had this ancient starship. He also wanted Cassius and Lisa to go because those two won't say more than needed.

"Well said, it looks like that boy weeping in front of the mirror, because he lost his arm has finally acquired leadership skills. Even if the foundation of Eden is not that simple, we can't refuse help even if it comes from a future enemy."(Old Voice)

"I know,"Roderick agreed. "However, I think all of it is because of your influence. I'm too weak to head into danger alone, any elemental king could kill me within a blink, not to mention Sky and those above kings. But in the end all those immeasurable beings I saw in the pieces of memories. You said so, that no one here was even close to the realm of a true god, at most a demigod."

He knew from the small phrases of the old voice would say from time to time he knew none of those beings here could compare to what he saw. With this he could understand how weak and small was his vision. "In order to fight those powerful people I must use anything I have. If strength isn't enough, then I will beat by betting my life, not of the others."

After agreeing with Roderick, they did as he said. Mystic injected something to put them to sleep and moved the prisoners of the flame union in an old cell to the building in the mountain. Cassius and Lisa ride Roderick's bike above the sea, with the former using his elemental art to too hide them from the beasts.

Seating on the captain chair in the command bridge, the old droids walked to the consoles in the right and left.

"Sharon, prepare to take off. Our destination is the Amazon Death Zone, and remember to fly within the clouds so our enemies won't see us so fast. We could also find another route, one where we can reach it faster and wait their arrival." Roderick said while putting the information in the console in his chair. He could see a route where they could reach the continent fifteen minutes faster than those people, they would only have to fly a little bit faster. He sent the route he calculated to Sharon who was activating the systems of the ship.

Srrrrrrrr! With the brute and loud sounds, the several engines inside the ship finally came to life. Soon, the ship went up to the sky in a flash and vanished in the blink of an eye. Sharon set course following Roderick's route.

Endless mass of water passed by his field of vision as well as numerous little islands. However, it didn't take look for him to see the beautiful beach in front of him, the crystal clear water and the tropical aura in the air made it nearly unbelievable that this place was one of the most dangerous places in the world.

Jumping out of the ship, Roderick landed on the soft sand in a graceful way, leaving arcs of lightning behind him.

"Sharon, find a safe place in a nearby island to land. I will activate my obelisk device if it is necessary." Seeing the ship in the distance, leaving the shore and fly the towards the islands in the sea, Roderick turned around and headed into the deep forest in front of him. He was scared to see any of the trees here were as tall as a mountain and he couldn't see the sky very well.

"Oh shit..." Shining green leaves fell from the top of the trees and the vision distracted him for a moment. He was just about to step forward when he saw a small red snake leap from the ground in a second and assault him. The poison in its teeth mixture with a purple vapor coming from its mouth and a wave of purple-colored flames came flying him.

Overflow! Intense lightning burst forth and his surroundings slowed down. He could see clearly the purple flames coming closer and he step to the side and send his palm towards the snake. A spark of light in Roderick's palm collided with the snake sending it a few meters away, on the shining green leaf in the air. The second the snake touched the leaf, its body turned into dust before Roderick's stunned eyes. Only now he realized he nearly met death two times in a short span of time and sucked in a mouthful of cold air.

"Now I know why the meaning of the words Death Zone. I can't rest even for a second."

Only exact fifteen minutes after having survived a lot of nearly death experiences did the sounds of a dozen ships resounded in the distance. High up in the sky, there were the flying figures as well as the ships approaching from afar and heading toward the south from above.

"As I thought, they won't send any group this strong in this direction with their destination being another place. I will follow them in silence, it seems even beasts find it hard to live in this place so it must mean something."
