The Deathstalker [7]

Deathstalker walked back and forth in weary. He kept checking his phone while pacing on a roof top. A short vibration finally appeared from his phone. He opened the short message almost like an instant. "It's clear. You can come in now."

With a sigh of relieved Deathstalker approached a corner of the roof top. That corner was the side of the building that faced a garden. The garden was usually used for patients of the hospital to sunbath or just having a fresh air. But at that moment, no one was seen in the garden as the time was past 9 PM.

Deathstalker fixed an iron hook on the railing of the fence that surrounded the corner of the rooftop. He then threw the rope down before started to climb it down. The red bricks wall was making him easier to do the job as his feet could grip in between the bricks as footling.

Quickly but not carelessly, he went to a window on the second floor, third from the corner of the building. The window was opened. With a little jump, Deathstalker passed the window to entered a room.

First thing he saw was his father, sleeping soundly on the couch. Well.. he was being put to sleep by a substance that was put inside his coffee by his beloved future daughter in law, Viper. She had left the room once she opened the window and messaged him. She knew he wanted his private time right now.

Deathstalker stared at the old man he whole heartily called father. He had to put him to sleep like this. As the man was obviously by his beloved woman all the time as she was hospitalized, Deathstalker wouldn't have a chance to see his mother without revealing his.. their lies to him.

Since he decide to join his mother's soldier, instead joining army, he and his mother made a plan to make his father believed he was joining the army. They enrolled his name to the army recruitment. However, she sent one of her low subordinate to replace him in the army. And now, he was assigned into a war in country I. Thus, obviously he shouldn't be here right now.

Deathstalker shifted his gaze to the center of the room where the bed was. His heart clenched when he saw his mother laid on it. The woman slept with frowns and painful expression on her face. Her hands were bandaged while her right leg was lifted a feet high from the bed.

His mother had an accident this morning. Her driver didn't make it while she was in a unconscious state with some broken bones. Her car was crushed by a trailer after it was dragged dozens feet. The trailer didn't even stop. So it was obviously not just a simple accident.

Deathstalker approached the bed. He put his hand on top of the back of her palm, her only bare skin on her body at the moment. He gently and ever so softly stroked his hand.

This woman was the only woman he knew as a mother to him. She was not the kindest mother. She loved him with discipline and hard taught. And he appreciated them all. He was grateful to be brought to this country by her, became her son, and to have his broken but seemingly perfect family.

Deathstalker's eyes shifted toward his mother's face when he heard a painful sigh from her lips. Her eyes were opened a slight. "Hey, Mom," he whispered, tried to give her a smile.

"Quint.." His mother whispered back to him. In trouble, she moved her hand so she could grab his hand.

"How are you feeling, Mom ?" he asked. Noticing his mother's intention, he grabbed her hand first.

"She.. she tried to kill me," she whispered with a terrorize sight in her eyes.

"She "Who ??"

"Mila.."

"That's impossible !" he hissed. "You are hallucinating."

"My phone.." She said, trying to wake her body just to fail. "My phone.." she pleaded.

Deathstalker straightened up his body. His eyes searched the bed side to see the phone. Once he saw it, he took it

"Message.." His mother softly whispered.

Deathstalker opened the message folder. He saw Mila's name was on the list. He opened the message from Mila.

"I will destroy you, Mom"

"You can only try. That doesn't mean you will succeed." That's his mother's reply.

"You just wait and see. Meanwhile, be careful while you are out there."

"Is that a threat ?"

"It's a warning, dearly Mommy."

Deathstalker looked back to his mother. "That doesn't prove that it was her doing.."

"She called me.. Right before the accident," His mother whispered with struggled breath.

Deathstalker checked her calling log. Mila's name was also there. Her last call was 5:29 AM today.

"She said goodbye," His mother continued her whisper as a tear dropped from her swollen eye.

---------

The night was dark. It was also gloomy as snow had been falling since morning, leaving a thin surface of ice every where on earth. Two men inside a bar were talking while once in a while gulping their beers and smocking cigarette that lingered in between their fingers.

A sound of bell on the front door rang made the two men turned their heads simultaneously on the door.

"Hey, man.. we're close," the man behind the bar said to the one who opened the door.

Either the one who opened the door didn't hear him or didn't care of what he was saying, he instead stepped into the bar.

The man that sat on the bar stool stood up. "Hey.. are you idiot or something ? Can't you read the sign on the door that saying that we are ..."

That man couldn't finished his words as the 'guest' who once still more that ten steps from him was suddenly stood in front of him and twisted his neck.

The man behind the bar immediately grabbed his gun that was under his bar. He pointed the gun onto the guest. "Who are you ? What do you want ?" he asked while cocking his gun.

"I want to meet your boss," the guest said.

"I am the boss.." His words was stopped when the gun he was holding was lost from his grip and flied toward the guest. The guest then took it and pointed it to the bartender.

"Mila Rauss," he said. "Tell her that her brother is visiting."

In staggered the bartender grabbed the phone that secretly hidden inside a drawer. "Miss, we got intruder. He said he is your brother." He then hung up the phone.

"She.. she said you could come in," he said to the guest which none other than Deathstalker.

"Show me the way," Deathstalker said.

With both hands on the air, the bartender walked out from the bar and went deeper into the room. He then shifted one of framed painting on the wall to show a secret button. He pushed the button. The wall in front of him suddenly splat in two and soon morphed into an elevator door.

"She.. she is in the basement," he said still with his hands on the air.

Deathstalker walked into the elevator. There were two buttons on its wall, Up and Down. He pushed the Down button.

Right when the door started to close, the bartender suddenly pressed the wall near where he stood, and an alarm started to ring. Without any hesitant, Deathstalker pulled the trigger on the gun in his hand. The bullet went straight into the man's left chest right before the elevator door was completely closed.

The elevator went down. It made a ding voice when it was about to open its door. When the door was opened, a rain of fires were targeted to the man inside it from six men that stood by in front of the elevator once they heard the alarm.

But the man, Deathstalker who was standing still in the middle of the elevator didn't flinch. None of the bullets hit him. Actually, the bullets froze in the mid air, few inches in front of him.

Some of the men who fired the bullets dropped their jaws to see it. Deathstalker smirked. He then stretched his arm a little. When he rotated his wrist, all the bullets turned 180 degree, pointing their sharp surfaces against him. He waved his hand forward to make all the bullets flied with the same forced and speed as they were coming, this time toward the six men.

In instance the narrow aisle in front of him was full with screams. Blood splatters were all over the wall of each sides while the six men dropped their bodies lifelessly one by on onto the floor.

Deathstalker walked out of the elevator. He carefully put his steps in between the bodies on the floor, made sure he didn't step on them. He when forward, reaching the other end of the aisle where there was a three-way junction. With no hesitation, Deathstalker went to the right.

When he stepped his feet on another aisle, he heard the door behind him was opened. Deathstalker turned his body around. without stopping, he fired up his gun to a group of men that just appeared from the door. Another chorus of screams was echoing in the air.

Two doors on the right and left of the aisle were opened. Again, a group of men appeared while firing their guns onto him. Deathstalker jumped and stepped his feet on the wall. While walking on the wall he fired back his gun onto both groups. He only stepped his feet back on the floor when he passed pile of bodies he just created.

Only with a few steps, Deathstalker already reached knob of the door at the end of this aisle. Once he opened the door, as he expected, a dozen men were standing pointing their guns on him.

"Don't move or we'll shoot !" A man shouted a warning to him.

"Quint !" A woman, her sister, behind them exclaimed. "No! Put your guns down !!"

"No, you shouldn't" Deathstalker replied smirked. "So I could have a reason to kill you all."

Instead listening to the warning, he stepped forward. Immediately all guns that were pointing to him blasted bullets.

"Quiiiint !!" Mila screamed again. This time she covered her eyes with her hands, couldn't dare to see her little brother being brutally murdered by her own men. She heard screams of pain were blurted out. They had different voices.

Before Mila could understood what was going on, she could feel a hand was grabbing her neck. She put away her hands to see Deathstalker was already in front of her. His hand was one grabbed her neck.

"Quint !" She shouted in between relieved and disbelief. She was too stunned to realize that her body was being pushed away by Deathstalker. The realization only hit her when she felt her back roughly slammed against the wall.

"So.. she finally sent you," Mila said with a smirk. "She knows you are my weak.. Argh !!"

Mila choked to feel the hand on her neck clenched tighter.

"Are you going to kill me, bro ?" She asked with a winced.

"You leave me no choice, sis," Deathstalker replied her. He heard many steps were about to barge in the room. Without releasing his gaze from his sister, he waved his other hand to close and lock the door. He then waved one more time to move the bookshelf, cupboard, and desk that were in the room to stack against the door.

"You attempted to kill Mom," Deathstalker hissed back to his sister. He pressed both his thumb and index finger harder onto her neck to make her hard to breathe.

"I.. I.. didn't," Mila denied it staggeredly. The stagger was either from fear or the choked throat.

"You lied !!"

"I don't !! I'm not lying !! Argh !!" Mila groaned in pain, "Quint.. please.. I've never planned to harm mother physically.."

"Bullshit !! You messaged her, threatening to destroy her"

"To destroy her organization, her mission. Not her!!"

"You called her right before she had accident !!"

Mila winced as she tried to remember something. "That's.. that's because she called me night before it. I was.. I was.. already asleep back .. back then. Thus.. I called her back when I noticed her miscalls."

"I. Don't. Believe. You !" Deathstalker said as he tightened his squeeze onto her neck. There were a vivid red mark on her neck now, print of five fingers.

"Argh !! Quint.. please..." Mila started to plead. Her face turned red and her eyes were already bulged. "I'm not lying.. I have never lied ... never.. lied to you.. Neve,,,"

Mila opened her mouth in hope to have more air coming to her lung. "Please, Quint.. don't kill me.. You said.. you wanted to protect me, remember..."

"Stop bending my mind !!" Deathstalker shouted in anger.

"I'm not.. not bending..."

"I am going to kill you !!"

"Quint.. I'm your sister.."

"You want to kill our mother !!"

"I'm not !!"

"You lied!!'

"I never lied to you.. never !!"

"You never lied but you bent my mind !!"

"No!! Quint.. no.."

"Yes, you are !! You are now..." Deathstalker shouted. There was an urge in his mind for not killing his sister. He was sure it was his sister trying to bend his mind.

"Quint.. I'm not bending your mind. I can't bend your mind !!" It took Mila all her power to be able to whisper now. Her hands had been trying to pull Deathstalker's hand off from her neck in futile.

"Liar !" Deathstalker hissed. He seared as he saw Mila's painful face yearning for air.

"Damn it ! If I could bend you, you wouldn't have to take a brain surgery to erase your trauma when you were five !!" Mila screamed in frustration as it was her last fight.

Somehow, her words affected Deathstalker to stun. "The surgery.. mom said it was because I had .."

"Mom lied to you !! You had to go through the surgery because I failed erasing the traumatic memories you had before you were adopted," Mila explained. She could breathe a-little since Deathstalker's hand, despite still on her neck didn't squeeze her too hard.

Trembling, Mila released her hands from his hand and instead put them on his cheeks. "I can't bend your mind, Quint. I can't even read your mind. If I could, you wouldn't be a killer weapon as you are now. You would have been with me, not against me.."

"I can't bend you, Quint.. And I'm not the one who tried to kill mom.." Mila whispered, looking through Deathstalker's eyes as she tried to put her words into his heart to have his mercy.

Deathstalker stared back at her. His hand that was on her neck moved onto her back of head. He then enclosed the gap between their faces and sealed it with a kiss. A very passionate one.
