Rudolfs skill tree

*Authors note* Right now the level system feels kinda weird. The characters can just learn all of their abilities whenever they want. I will use a "Cube World" similar levelling mechanic, where you have to increase your current skill to a certain extent before the next one is up for grabs. The change starts this chapter.

"666, 667, 668, 669, 670", " 695, 696, 697, 698, 699", "998, 999, 1000" Rudolf counted as he did his pushups. Theoretically, he could keep on going until his energy went out because essentially workouts were the muscles getting worn out and then grow back stronger. His phoenix-like healing would automatically heal him back to peak form, which would unknowingly make this entire workout completely useless.

At one thousand pushups, he decided to quit it and do something else. The pushups were equally hard every single time he would do them, they did not get harder or easier which in Rudolf's books meant he had not actually grown and instead was stuck.

If Rudolf could not get a stronger or faster body then what would he do when he versed people that were faster and stronger. He had to have something up his sleeve, "fire, what is special properties does fire have??? Fire...."

Rudolf decided to open up his skill tree, he looked over his skill tree, there was one skill route he had not bothered going because of its not being comparable to the others

The salamander skill route did not seem nearly as good as the phoenix skill route, therefore Rudolf did not bother investing in it. Now, with the next Pheonix skill still being locked, Rudolf decided to take the salamander skill.

When he activated it his body started feeling weird. First, he had a heavy feeling in his heart, almost as if it was being sucked in. Then his veins felt slow and painful as if something large was going through them. He felt extremely tired, almost as if his brain was going to shut down. Then he felt a scorching pain in him. it made him pass out.

"bump", Rudolf's body made the sound as it hit the floor they were standing on. It woke Jake up from his deep meditation when he saw his friend in front of him he was a bit confused. First, he looked around to see if somebody had attacked him. He saw nobody, he got a bit confused. He walked over to his friend to check his pulse. His heart was still beating, and he was still breathing. Jake decided to wait.

Three minutes after, Rudolf woke up. He felt fresher than ever, the kind of feeling you get after a good night sleep. It felt as if his muscles were warmed up. He stood up and looked at Jake, Jake rolled his eyes in response.

A few hours passed, Jake returned to meditating and Rudolf was testing his new skill. His skin had become a bit harder, his muscles felt fresher almost as if they were in peak condition. Then they saw the boats returning, they walked up to the beach and waited for them.

A fishing boat eventually reached the beach. Jake and Rudolf greeted the men inside, they were all middle-aged men, with worn-out hands and grey hair. It took quite a long time haggling them for their boat, they really did not want to sell it. It felt like they had almost grown an emotional connection to it. Eventually Jake and Rudolf got the boat, however, it cost them a staggering 20 silvers. It felt as if they had been scammed, 20 silvers for a worn-out small wooden boat, but this was their entry ticket into Blue City. There they could start making big money.

It was almost night time, soon it would be so dark that you would not be able to see the difference between the sea and the sky. That's when they would set sail, it was the perfect time to sneak into the harbours.

3 hours later they started sailing.
