Mia continued her training with much more precision. The reason she was so confident in her bet with Huntress was that she felt something awakening within her body. Her mental strength was growing at a very fast pace. Huntress wasn't aware of it since she never tested it.
Mia was known for her absurd attitude towards training alone without the observation of someone. She was aiming to become a disciple of a very powerful mental energy user, who was known to be one of the top-ranked hunters within the country. That was the reason she was using the reference materials and skill books, yet training on her own.
She aimed at vowing the whole world during her next assessment. She had already managed to break previous records of upgrading ranks. Now her sole aim was to become the fastest hunter to reach the A-rank energy levels within the whole world. Only such an achievement could attract the attention of that guy and help her in pursuit of her motive.
"Move your legs a little bit farther apart. Huntress shouted to break Mia out of her trance. Mia jolted out and looked at Huntress with apologetic eyes.
"I am sorry." She responded and proceeded to follow Huntress's instruction.
"You are the most talented hunter I have ever seen in my life. Yet your talent is not the thing that amazes me. It is your concentration and devotion towards achieving your goals. But you need to pace yourself properly and notice the small things in life like this training. It is crucial."
"But I can't stop pursuing the dream. I have something I need to take care of, and strength is the only way to achieve it." She said.
"I know about David's situation. You couldn't do much with your current power. Nor will it be helpful if you burn out even before being capable enough of taking care of the situation. Your parents wouldn't want that for you." Huntress commented.
"I have a single-family member remaining in the world, and his safety and opinion are the most valuable for me. I don't care about the ideas and suggestions of the dead."
"Presumed dead." Huntress tried to correct Mia's words, yet was met with a glare from her.
"If they are still alive and yet we are left in this situation, I would no longer consider them as a parent, no matter the situation. I will say it for the last time, stop comparing me with them. I am not only more talented, but I am human enough to take care of my family. They couldn't compare in either strength or real life." Mia's opinion of her parents had taken a low turn.
"What if they mingled in a situation they couldn't get out of." Huntress wanted to console the pitiful child in front of her.
"It just means that they are too weak to even handle the pressure of the real world. Such worthless pieces of shit are not worthy of being called as my parents."
"Yet your brother's future is taking a turn in the same direction."
"It is because I was the one who snatched it from him that I will make sure to pay the price." Mia had always blamed herself for David's condition. His extreme weakness could only mean that the distribution of power within her generation was towards her. She leeched out the power which was supposed to be his.
"Blaming yourself for a matter you aren't responsible for isn't going to salvage the situation. You need to be a proper sister to him and be there for him."
"I tried yet yesterday I realized that I wasn't able to," Mia said in a voice filled with bloodlust.
"Han. Might seem like a bad guy in the situation, but I promise to you that he and your father were incredibly tight. Much more than you could ever hope for. He and your mother were the two people in the world he trusts the most, and if asked who is his top choice, he would still pick Han. That is how deep their friendship runs."
"If he said that Xiao asked him to ingest those potions into David's bo9dy, then he is telling the truth. There might be something which only he knows about."
"You are saying that my parents hid something about my brother from the two of us."
"Xiao was the best researcher within the Kaiser guild, and even within the whole world. I feel like he must have tried to enhance his children's condition before too. Hence he must have realized David's condition. There is no way someone like him would let go of the situation. He must have tried to do something about it."
"So you are saying the potion was my father's attempt to make my bo0rther's condition right."
"Yes. They must be."
"So I had a set of parents who were weak and incompetent."
Huntress decided to shut her mouth up for the moment and concentrate on the training itself.
"Your task from now on will be divided into two parts. Since I am in charge of your physical training, we will be concentrating on improving your physique." Huntress then threw a small bag towards Mia. As soon as it hit the ground, a loud bang was heard, and the floor caved in.
"What is this?" Mia was shocked at the scene. Just what was within those bags.
"Your mother along with me was a top physical type hunter. She too had the wild dream of forging her whole physique, and to my shock, she was quite close to it. But there is a catch. She didn't walk the path of complete strengthening from the beginning. She concentrated on the individual parts of her body."
"It was only when she finally decided to walk on the path, that she tried to design training equipment which could help the future hunters as well as herself. We began to research how top results could be achieved and found out a very comical thing."
"The best way to reach the top is to train your whole body from the beginning." Mia guessed.
"Exactly. Whenever a hunter decides to concentrate on a particular part of his body to develop on, he begins to neglect the other parts which eventually leads to a variation in overall composition and brings disp[arity within the body."
"The disparity has the potential to become an anomaly or a disconnection of previously perfect coordination stage. Sadly once the path was walked on, you could achieve the top no matter how you try. You can reach an advanced stage, but never the top. It is one of the reasons I will be allowing you to train your whole body for the next six months."
She opened the bag and a suit came into view. She picked it up and threw it at Mia who tried to catch it, but the weight soon crushed her down.
"This is a piece of training equipment designed by your mother. It is an armored suit, not a battlesuit. The specialty of this is that it could induce a special field around you, which could increase the effect of gravity, increasing it exponentially. It increases your weight and hence makes it much more resistant to moment."
She then asked Mia to put it on. She did and it was a perfect fit for her. Huntress admired the creation for a bit before grabbing her hands to show a special meter embedded in the guard.
"This is the controller for the whole suit and you can operate all its functionality from here. There are ten levels of weight. Each increase in level doubles your overall weight. You will start at 0, and slowly increase the levels on the suite. I am hoping that you can manoeuvre perfectly at level 3 by the end of the six months."
"What is the level you were able to reach?"
"I could operate the suit at level 7 and so could your mother. In her case, she was quite close to case 8. We haven't experienced anyone manoeuvring it at level 8 and above."
"So my aim is level 8."
"No. I have higher hopes for you. I hope you can reach the maximum level. Only then could you be said to have reached the pinnacle of body-type hunters." Huntress riled up Mia and the two began to train together once again.
