Misty, Cole, and Alex

We were out bowling for our Saturday night fun night l. We cherished our Saturday nights because of the fact it gave us time to be with each other as well as giving us time to just enjoy ourselves. We decided to order some pretzel bites and sprite. The person who delivered it was Misty. A short girl with massive curls, blue eyes, skinny waist, and way too much makeup. After high school, I never thought I'd see her again.

Misty was Aston's ex-girlfriend. They dated from about halfway through freshman year to the beginning of junior year in high school. They broke up because Ashton had found out she was cheating on him with the most popular guy in school. After they broke up Misty tried everything to repair their relationship. Eventually, Ashton caved and agreed to be friends but warned her they would be nothing more. I personally couldn't stand her, but I was friendly towards her because she was one of Ashton's friends.

"Hay Misty I didn't know you worked here" the words came out of my mouth in that high pitched peppy fake voice

Misty looked at me and in that same fake voice told us the reason we didn't see her is that she owned the bowling alley and she usually had other people to do all the work for her. She then suggested we hung out together and she gave Ashton her new number. Next thing I knew we were set to have dinner with the monster.

So we went to dinner. Misty was actually enjoyable to be around. She was friendly for once. Well, at least to me she was. At one point during the dinner, I had to use the restroom. When I came back I looked over at Ashton. Ashton was always a happy person but at this moment his smile had disappeared. I didn't think much of it at the time. Looking back now I know she probably wasn't as pleasant when I left the table.

Misty started hanging out with us more and we started becoming best friends. Ashton never seemed thrilled about her presence when she would come over. I guess I should have known something was wrong then. Ashton loved everybody and got excited at just the mention of a guest. I just assumed it was because of the occasional jokes that Misty would have about mistakes he made in the past.

Cole, the hottest guy in our high school, and the biggest a-hole in the United States of America. He had the basic f-boy look and personality. He was also my ex-boyfriend. We started dating February 14th of our 8th-grade year. We broke up the beginning of junior year. If you haven't guessed it by now it was because of Misty. She cheated on Ashton with my then-boyfriend, Cole. After the incident, Cole did apologize but didn't try too hard to make amends.

Until about two months after we got engaged. He tried following me on social media, somehow found my number, tried sending me letters, and I'm pretty sure he was stalking me. I can't prove the last one though. When he couldn't reach me he tried reaching Ashton. It worked. Soon he and Ashton were best buds. I knew at the moment the best thing was to act like I was fine.

I still couldn't stand Cole. It was over a petty thing that happened in high school though. He and Ashton had so much fun together, and I was becoming best friends with Misty. If Ashton could forgive Misty for what she did, I could forgive Cole for what he did. They were both culprits in the same situation. I had forgiven one side so I forgave the other. Even if he was an a-hole.

There was an appointment right next to mine and Ashton's apartment that had been vacant from the moment we moved in. It wasn't until February 14th that Ashton and I noticed a familiar face move in. Cole. I had moved on from the situation but his presence still made my blood boil. I could handle some of his presence, but this was too much.

He was also the worst neighbor. He was loud, stayed up late, and came over whenever he pleased. His actions even irritated Ashton a little. On March 14th things got even worse. Cole got a roommate. His roommate was Alex. Alex was Ashton's older brother. We saw Alex moving in on our way back from dinner.

"Out of all the people, why Alex" Ashton shouted as we were going to bed that night. I reminded hem he was right next door he quieted down a little but went on to say " it's like he's haunting me. You know he constantly reminds me of all the times I've failed or screwed up. He's always been better than me at everything. I'm tired of hearing about it from him and my parents. When he went to college I thought I finally got rid of him, but here he is". As he was saying this I saw a tear start to form in his eye.

I put my hand on his shoulder, looked him in the eyes, and told him " you're perfect and you don't need the words of your pompous brother to know your worth". After that, he let out a little giggle. We went on to our nightly conversation, and then went to sleep.
