From the book [Basics of Cultivation] Zhao Yun had learnt a lot. According to the book there were many anomalies in the cultivation world.
In the mortal world, there were many geniuses who were considered as the sons and daughters of heaven. They were born with certain perks that were the reason of envy for others. Some were born with innate strength, where without any cultivation they had the power on par with body refiners. Some were born with extraordinary soul. Some were born with heaven defying perception. Among these geniuses there were kings who were born with heaven defying physiques. Under certain circumstances, natural elements of Fire, water, earth, metal, wood, wind, thunder and lightning, ice, light, darkness and yin and yang graced certain geniuses and gave them a natural affinity to the respective elements. These geniuses if practised with right cultivation techniques and right environment, would have tremendous improvement.
There were natural born physiques and also cultivated ones. Five elemental chaotic body was one of them.
The geniuses with these bodies cultivated at a fast pace and also after Xiantian, the speed of them comprehending laws and regulations was insanely high. These geniuses were highly sought after by big figures.
This was the reason Zhao Yun was extremely surprised when he found that Lingzhi had top grade fire physique.
Physiques were not easy to get. Many factors were included.
Natural born physiques were extremely rare. They laid dormant with a miniscule chance of them activating. While acquired physiques were slightly weaker than the natural ones, they were comparitively easier to activate at an early stage.
From the looks of it, Lingzhi was one of those few natural born physiques.
The activation of these physiques would be extremely dangerous. Only experts would be able to contain the elemental outburst of the physique.
'She has the highest grade physique. If the elemental outburst of its activation is not controlled, it would burn everything in a mile radius.'
Zhao Yun's back was drenched in cold sweat. He could see that Lingzhi was losing control. He only have two option, either to kill the girl to save everyone, or to help her activate her physique.
Zhao Yun wanted to save the girl. He knew that he needed helpers in his quest and not everyone would be able to keep up with his pace. The girl in front of him was among the few who can. If possible he didn't want to lose her.
He pondered for quite a while.
He was frantically searching for ways to help her activate her physique. But all he could gather from all those books he read were some rare treasures which were obviously impossible to find in the current situation. Helplessness washed over him. He had thought that with all those knowledge he had, all these problems would become minor to him. Only now did he knew that in front of the forces of heavens, everything is akin to dust. He was unwilling but helpless.
"Have you thought about it?" Ling Yun's voice sounded in his mind, jerking him out from his thoughts.
"About what?" He asked back in confusion.
"After all the knowledge you gained from those experts, after the strength you gained from your inheritance, after you solved all the crisis your clan was facing with just few moves, you grew complacent." As Ling Yun spoke up to here, he saw the boy shiver.
He had to say those words to remind that lad. Although he never showed it, his confidence had long since evolved into arrogance. He started treating things as dust. He acted humble and wise but deep in his bones the arrogance to disdain even the heavens was being bread. All because of the mighty inheritance he gained.
Zhao Yun's back was drenched in sweat.
He remembered how he used to be. A young lad cultivating diligently and striving for smallest increase in strength. He knew nothing about the world, nothing about the cultivation but he still gained satisfaction from the smallest of breakthroughs. Now after getting the strength which was the result of hard work of countless seniors, the concept of satisfaction and diligence had somehow been burried deep inside. Even after he became a hegemon level existence in these kingdoms that once used to be akin to God to him, he never felt the same feelings he felt from the breakthroughs he made before.
He had never killed even a chicken before gaining the legacy but after it, many lives had been taken away but he didn't feel anything.
He knew that this mindset would eventually come when one advances in his journey of cultivation but his was just starting. Treating life as grass was something the current him cannot do.
These changes within himself surprised him. Fortunately Ling Yun was with him, otherwise he dare not imagine what the consequences of these changes would be.
Mindset was something that cannot be measured but was one of the most important talent for cultivation. With the correct mindset, people with weak talent could go far into their cultivation journey but with a weak mindset even geniuses would face countless difficulties.
His previous mindset was both correct yet incorrect. What he had was the best mindset for a warrior. Many strong ones would have similar mindset. Problem was that it was not his. It was something he gained from the inheritance. Something countless seniors sacrificed their life for. But unfortunately it was the only thing he can't inherit. The reason was simple. It has to be cultivated on his own. He had to go through obstacles, friends, enemies, love and hate. Only after experiencing the joys and sorrows of life would he be able to cultivate the mindset that was his own. Something that would shape his character and journey.
Unfortunately, he gained something that the current him who was just starting his cultivation journey could not bear. Instead of gradual broadening of horizons, his was forcibly stretched to match the legacy. He couldn't help but look at these incidents which should be earth shaking for him, from the perspective of someone who stood at the top of the world. His situation and strength doesn't match up to his knowledge thus giving him lots of trouble.
Now he had to forcibly suppress his mind and think from the perspective of the current him and cultivate his own mindset. Unfortunately whatever he do, his path would be influenced by the legacy so all he could do now was to shape his character according to his own ideals and not what the legacy decrees. Afterall what's the point of standing at the top of the world when he would not remain himself
Calming himself he decided to take a step at a time to slowly build his foundation.
For now there was something more pressing in front of him. The heat from the girl was constantly increasing. Even without any prior experience he could tell that the explosion was near. Unwilling to let a talent die, he asked Ling Yun for help.
"Senior, is there anything to help her?" He asked in his mind.
There was a period of silence before the old man spoke, "come to the scroll world."
Zhao Yun did what he was told and sent his consciousness into the scroll world.
As soon as he entered, the old man threw a scroll at him.
"Make sure to remember it properly. This is the only chance she has. Make it quick." He said before disappearing from site.
Zhao Yun quickly opened the scroll to find three Big words giving an intense heat.
"Fire God Art"
The name alone was something but when he read through the content, he was stupefied.
Fire God Art was a cultivation technique extremely similar to his own cultivation technique.
His Divine Sovereign Ascension Art focussed on attaining perfection in each level of all the three cultivation schools of Body, Qi and Soul and then fusing them together to reach a new peak.
Fire God Art was similar.
The practitioner of this art needs to cultivate to perfection in all three schools too.
The difference was that the fusion would not occur at every level. Instead all these energies would fuse together to form a fire seed when the practitioner advances to Xiantian realm.
Only people with fire type Physique could cultivate this art as one would need tremendous amount of fire element natural energy, to start the cultivation and only these people have this source.
Keeping away the awe and shock he felt, Zhao Yun quickly memorised the chant and pathways required for the art. After he completed all this he left the scroll world as he knew what to do and also the time was running out.
Outside, Ignis was worried sick as the energy around his sister was increasing by the second and the newly accepted master of his was standing there while his eyes were closed.
Soon the energy had reached a terrifying level. He gritted his teeth and decided to wake Zhao Yun up so that atleast he can escape even if he can't cure his sister.
He was a honest young man. He didn't want an unrelated person to die just for the sake of himself and his sister.
Unknown to him the moment he signed the slave contract, the destiny of the siblings who were bound to die today had changed for something so great that the current him, not even Zhao Yun himself were able to imagine.
Just before he raised his hand to wake up Zhao Yun who was in silent meditation, the latter opened his eyes scaring him.
Seeing the guy's scared expression, Zhao Yun chuckled dryly.
He then said, " Go out and make sure no one comes in to disturb us."
Though confused, Ignis decided to trust his master and together with the guards and Zhao San he stepped out.
The moment he stepped out, the girl who appeared to be in a coma just moments ago, opened her eyes surprising Zhao Yun.
"So you were awake all along." He chuckled.
"Who are you?" Lingzhi asked softly.
Her voice was quivering, clearly in pain.
"Ignis' master." He gave a short reply.
Limgzhi's expression changed a little but soon some comprehension came to her and her face returned to normal.
"Is it for me?" She asked in a voice filled with pain and sorrow.
Zhao Yun nodded.
She sighed. "I beg you, please take care of him." She said in a pleading tone.
"I refuse." Zhao Yun replied decisively. Lingzhi's face turned. Before she could say anything, Zhao Yun continued, "I don't have the time to become someone's nanny. It's better for you to take care of him. Furthermore he's my slave so technically I don't have any obligation to take care of him."
Lingzhi's face was pale. Either from anger, sorrow or pain no one knows but she still said, " You think I don't want to take care of him?" She snarled, "I'm already dying. How can I look after him now? From the heavens? Are you serious?"
Her outburst surprised Zhao Yun but soon he understood. The poor girl was dying. Just before her death she knows that her only kin had become slave to someone just to save her and the person in question even after failing to save her refused to treat her brother properly. Anyone would have an outburst. He should be lucky that the girl decided not to burn him. Well maybe because of the contract she didn't harm him fearing that he would harm her brother.
Thinking upto here he chuckled before shaking his head.
He observed the elemental outburst for a while. The current him was incapable of approaching the girl so how would he transfer the art to her?
"Use your genesis energy. It encompasses all energy thus nothing can corrode it." Ling Yun's timely reminder solved his problem yet again.
He smiled bitterly and prepared himself.
He covered his body with the genesis energy. The incredible hot temperature became dull to him. He walked towards the girl and under her stunned gaze tapped her forehead transmitting the Fire God Art to her in the process.
His soul was tempered to perfection thus it was easy for him to transfer small amount of information through soul transfer. After the information was transferred, he quickly explained the details of the Art to her and said,"Cultivate it and you would not only survive but would be able to stand your ground in this world. I truly look forward to the wonders of the unique physique."
After doing all that, he turned and left the courtyard leaving the shocked girl behind.
His voice reverberated in her ears shortly, " I won't take care of him because I want you to do that for me. Practise this Art and you will live. How much you will grow would depend on yourself."
After doing all that he left the courtyard and arrived outside. Seeing the restless Ignis, he smiled and said, "Don't worry, your sister will be fine."
Ignis relaxed visibly and stood a little distance away still peering in the courtyard's direction with worry in his eyes.
Zhao Yun shook his head helplessly. It would take time for the lad to trust him.
"Old man, what's this Fire God Art.?"
Fire God Art was similar to the Divine Sovereign Ascension Art. This increased his curiosity towards it. He somehow felt that this Fire God Art was related to him in some ways.
Ling Yun smiled. He said, "One of the seniors who took part in the formation of your art, was the one who created this art eons before it.
Fire God Art is not a complete art but part of a more profound technique developed by him. This technique is the base of your Art."
"What!!" Zhao Yun exclaimed.
He felt that this art alone was strong enough. Who would have thought that it was part was another one. Not only that it was the base of his own Art.
"No wonder I felt close to it." He whispered.
"What's the name of the technique old man?" He asked Ling Yun. He wanted to know more about the technique he uses.
Ling Yun thought for a while arranging his knowledge that he recently gained.
"That senior was the first disciple of Daofather. He was a mortal born in one of the mortal realms in the Dao plane. The Art he created was called Five Elements Divine Art."
