24

I woke up the next morning, the sun was already out. I was still in Coreys arms and my head was on his chest, my body was warm. It was also sore. I remember everything from last night, as I started to move Coreys grip on me get stronger. I let out a soft growl and his grip got softer, he started to rub his fingers back and forth going down to my hip and up to the top of my rib cage. I nuzzled my head on his chest, then looked up at him. His eyes were closed.

He opened his eyes as he stopped moving his hand. I cocked my head at him because I don't understand why he stopped now. It felt good when he was running his fingers lightly along my body.

"Why are you naked Megs?"

I moved my body so my top half was on top of him and looked down at him trying to read his face. I let out a low growl.

"Megan!" His entire body stiffened, and I frowned.

"Your dragon must of taken over last night. I think you have suppressed it for to long and it happily came out without you even realizing it. That's probably why you don't remember last night, because we didn't drink at all."

Corey truly looked confused. I got up out of bed and stretched. I felt Coreys eyes on me scanning me. I also noticed the bit marks and hickies left from the night.

"Did I do that?"

"Yes love, last night. I'll fill you in short story is we had sex and your eyes glow red. You also knew how to respond when my dragon came out. Dragons go off sounds and movements, you not only understood and read it but responded."

"I don't know what you mean, I'm not a dragon."

"My father was a hybrid as I'm sure your mother was, but I've been getting a weird sense from your dad. He doesn't have a normal hybrid smell and I think he's a dragon. I know that's a lot to take in because it means you and your sibling are all very likely the same as I am, meaning you have the ability to transform, and you have a lot stronger magic then what your currently using."

"Megs, you know that's not possible."

"Why is it not possible. You said it yourself. You has no clue dragons could take human form, which I'm sure nobody in your tribe is aware of either. Your father is also normally gone and he's gone by himself for months at a time, but yet always seems to know exactly where to find all of you even though he left during breeding season which means he would have to guess where to heard would move and where we would set up. He left early breading season as well, he was only there for what maybe a week? Don't you wonder why and how, it's been over a month since we left the breading grounds and moved here. That means he's been gone for about three and a half months, I don't know a single human or hybrid that can survive alone for that long."

"We would know. My mom she would of know wouldn't she?"

"Maybe, I mean the red eyes are a pretty big give away. You know that I can transform and it hasn't changed how you feel about me, so who's to say she was the same."

"She would of told me if my father was a dragon."

"Corey your mom died when you were young, from what I've gotten from you all I don't think you were more than 5 when she passed away, but your memory's don't fully form until then which is why you don't remember much from being a baby or a toddler. If she would of told you about it you wouldn't remember, and you were a kid I don't think you would of understood what it meant. Honestly where you live it was probably safest to never even tell you at all because then you wouldn't ever transform or risk someone else finding out because even yourself didn't know."

"I don't think your right."

"Ok, I'll drop it. When you decide what I'm saying is possible and your ready we can talk about it again. Then we can help teach you how to use your abilities."

"I don't have any abilities to learn how to us."

"Ok, I think I'm going to go on a fly with my brother and cousins today to patrol some area and see if we can find any good hunting grounds near by. We can bring the Gaur to your dad when I get back if that works for you."

"Yeah, I'm gonna get cleaned up but I'll see you when you get back love." He spoke and I could see he was uncertain and although denying it he was thinking about what I said. I got out of bed and walked over to me. He pulled me into his arms. My hands feel on his chest, I looked up at him.

"I don't know why I don't remember but last but I'm jealous of the part of me that does."

I smiled at him as he brought his head down and kissed me.

"Be safe on your flight, and make sure your brother knows I'm holding him accountable for bringing you back in one piece." He said and smiled at me.

I loved that he didn't care that we both believed different things, I was still the same in his eyes. No matter what I had ever said or shown him, he never once judged me or let it change how he felt and how he saw me. I'm not sure I would of been able to do the same if it was the other way around. I mean the way I felt with him, that might of been enough for me to over look everything. I hadn't ever felt this way before so I'm really not sure where my limit would be.

All I had on was a cloak my cousins had given me. It is made out of a dark grey silk, I put the hood of the cloak over head, the cloak has 6 buttons, they go down to my hips, and it has sleeves as well. They gave me three of these cloaks, I have one that's white, dark grey, and black. It allows me to have one for night, along with two potentially for the day depending on the weather. When we transform it would destroy any clothes you are wearing which is why we only wear cloaks. We take the cloak off before we transform, it's easy to take off and put on after we are back in human form.

I hadn't ever flown with my brother before, I had grown up in the cave, I knew how to fly since I was little I could fly in the cave. I hadn't really flown out in an open area, before I was just practicing my transformation so it was so painful and I'd be able to do it more quickly.

I was going with a group so that way we could test my abilities when I comes to flying. Most dragons fight in the sky not on the ground, if I can't fly very well I'll won't be able to fight and fly at the same time which puts me at a disadvantage. A dragon that can't fly is basically just a big lizard. They can still fight to an extent but then they are more vulnerable to attacks since they can be attacked more easily from the ground and then also can't defend from attacks from the sky very easily.

They planned on teaching me today while we were flying. It'll kill two birds with one stone. I will begin to learn to be more of a dragon and fight like I'm one them, I'll have to learn how to fight in human and dragon form. Dragons fight more wars then hybrids because we are constantly battling. Always fighting with the surrounding dragon clans, along with human and hybrids. We also fight with bigger predators since we do become humans and try and save our food and not eat it all at once so we don't have to hunt as often, but it also attracts predators. Every time dragons leave there home it's a risk, as it leaves it open for predators or young to be attacked and allows potential for an ambush or leading other enemies there.

It's how our lives work. Although I am a hybrid I'm living with dragons and I'm able to transform so I'm just as at risk as they are. I'm not as strong as all of the other dragons, the only real advantage I have is white fire which will burn any dragon that doesn't have it. I'm stronger than the small hybrids, but not when they attack as a tribe. I'm at a spot where I don't fit in with dragon or hybrids but my brother tries to change that and my family is trying to protect me, and help me and I can help them as well.

I meant them at the barn. We all got on our horses, we had the same colors on and we road about 30 minutes out. Ian, Nick, and Maddy followed me to a forested areas where we can tie the horses off and change without people being around. I knew where the other tribes hunt since I had been here for a little and heard all about it from others who talked when I was helping with the garden in the village and Corey talked about it some times when he came back from hunting or was helping plan a hunt or sending a party to see where the best areas were.

We all put some space between us and transformed. Maddie is light grey with icy blue eyes, while Nick is silver grey with icy blue eyes. Ian is Lava grey which is darker than all of us and he has electric blue eyes like me and my mother. I'm a white dragons so I'm the lightest colored and I have electric blue eyes as well.

I fly above the trees very easily. It felt good to be flying again. I was the last one to finish my transformation so the others were waiting for me already a little past the small forest. I flew over to them. Knowing I could fly Maddie came over to me to play. It would be the first test if I could ruff house with them playing in the air I would most likely be able to fight as well. I meant her with the same energy, I wasn't as strong as her though. When she started to get too ruff then I dodged her and let out a small growl to let her know it was enough and she needed to calm down. She understood and stopped. It was nice to fly, we went higher up so people wouldn't notice us as quickly. We were high enough not to spook anything but still see them. We found another big heard of Gaur, but we also found some antelope, addax, pronghorn, oryx, ostrich, and zebra. They were all close together and the herds mixed, animals tend to do that as it is safer in numbers because if one animal sees a predators it can warn all of the animals. Knowing where the are is the first step for us to be able to hunt, we observe the way they walk and if the ground is solid enough to ride our horses on. We all dove down to push them closer to where we came from. The would obviously run the other direction once they saw us. We couldn't get them all the way over but it's a start for our next hunt and watching them run shows how hard the ground is and where there's kids so we know good places to push once we are on horse back. The sun was past center sky by the time we started heading back.

It was easy to transform into a human form. Then we put on our cloaks, and got onto our horses and started our ride back.

We noticed there was another set of horse prints that weren't our so we slowed down and stopped to look and track them. We noticed paw prints as well. We decided it was best for us to go back to get the others. We found four sets of paws that we could clearly identify as different and 8 different horse prints. The four of us might be able to handle it but not without knowing what exactly we are dealing with so we need the other. Going into unfamiliar without knowing how many are actually there and what there purposes is then we would be being reckless. We will get the others and then go as a clan.

Dragons are stronger warriors than even hybrids. Fight a dragon as a tribe is the hardest thing hybrids or humans could ever do. Fighting a clan of dragon normally is only done if you have multiple tribes all going together because of how dangerous it is, sometimes a tribe will try to fight a clan if it's a small clan but I have never be told about any being successful because it won't ever happen dragons are to strong and when we are together we work as a unit and most dragons were military before this happened so they have been taught to work as one unit and they have passed those traits onto their children and others within the clan.
