Now I am Alpha

I really do not think they would have accepted me if it had not been for Nyx. They know her. She grew up here in a sense. Yes I have been here 10 years but I have stuck to myself. I felt the packs hesitation towards me. But Kostas really did help when he metioned her growing up here.

"Where the hell is all your food?" Nyx says with annoyance.

"I was gone for two weeks I didn't want anything to go bad. How about we go into town and get some food. I tend to do everything my self. I do not have any employees besides the house keeper who is here once a month." I say.

"Sounds good. Sorry I get cranky when I am hungry." Nyx says with a smile.

"I noticed. How did you make it 8 years in the marines?" I ask as I lead her out the door.

"My dad sent me food all the time. I kept snacks in every pocket I had."

"Is walking okay with you? I hardly drive anywhere." I ask.

"Thats fine. I am used to going for a 20 or more mile run everyday." She says.

We walk hand in hand for the 3 miles it takes to get down to the market. Once there I can tell she is right at home. She is also fluent in Greek, but that then again she grew up here. I have only been here 10 years.

"Can we eat at that cafe there? If I am right Kostas' mother owns it." She ask

"Yes, and yes she does. best place to eat here on the island." I say.

"Nyx, is that you?" Cora Barbas comes running out of her cafe to greet us.

"Γεια σου Κόρα, μου έλειψες" Nyx responds as she hugs her.

"Please use english. If I remeber correctly Alpha is not as fluent in Greek as you are." Cora says as she pats my arm.

"That is true but I do understand enough that she said Hi Cora I missed you" I say to her. She hugs me tight and smiles. She is a short women and she looks to be in her 40's with long curly blonde hair. Much like Kostas but she has brown eyes not blue. She is tan and you can tell she spends her days out in the sun. She has a kind face and I can tell she loves Nyx as if she was her own child.

"Your lunch is on me Alpha and Luna and you cannot change my mind. You eat here everyday and always tip double or more so please let me treat you on your first day as Alpha." she says sternly

"Fine but you cannot stop me from tipping." I say.

She smiles and goes to cook our food. I can't help but admire Nyx. Her strawberry blonde hair looks more red in the bright sun. She is wearing a sundress that is white with blue roses all over it. It makes her eyes stand out alot more. I really wish she would let them stay purple instead of keeping them blue or green.

"Alpha" Kostas comes up to us.

"Beta Kostas, What can I do for you" I say as I stand in greeting and motion for him to sit.

"Sorry to interupt but I just wanted you to know that I am avalible any time you need me. I have only been a Beta for a few months so I am new to this." He says as he sits next to Nyx, who is directly across from me.

"Thank you, I do plan on keeping you as the Beta. You showed great dedication to this pack and I really do feel that you are the reason everyone accepted us this morning." I explain

"I doubt that, They all know Nyx. She grew up here and even though her grandmother was a vampire she was the Elder here. Her death was very tragic and we wish we knew who did it. I never belived it was Tatiana." He says

"It wasn't my mother, and the vampire who killed her was put to death yesterday." Nyx explains.

"You found out who did it?" a voice from behind us says. I realize that it is Fino, The Vampire Elder for this area. He is 6'6" and like me he has black hair, but his eyes are black. He is solid muscle and he looks like he could snap a tree in half.

I stand to greet him. " Yes, I am surprised they didn't call you Serafino, Lucy called most the Elders to the meeting."

"I was called but I couldn't make it in the time they requested. I can see why the made it such a quick turn around. Who was it?"

"Marcus, he was behind all of it. He used his powers to control my mother and make her want to kill me. Long story short is he wanted to keep Xander and I apart." Nyx explains. Fino takes a seat next to me.

"That does not surprise me. I can see why it would scare him you both are very powerful." Fino says

"I planned on bringing Nyx to see you tomorrow. I hope that we have not upset you by her being here. But she is my mate and I am now the Alpha so I am not leaving." I say looking him in the eye.

"Nyx has been welcome here all her life. That would not change now. I can say I really do approve of this. I think we need the union of the vampires and the werewolfs to be stonger." Fino explains.

"I have a question." Nyx says

"Yes, Nyx what is it?" Fino says. I can see hesitation in his eyes. He is trying to read her mind but she is blocking him.

"You do realize bigger isn't always better right? You look like with one hip thrust you would split a women in half. You should really cut back on leg day." Nyx says with the most wicked smile I have ever seen. I can tell she spent 8 years in the military. She doesn't have much of a filter.

"Your mother didn't seem to mind being torn in half by me. If I remember correctly she was screaming my name and begging for more." Fino says with a smile that is just as wicked as hers.

Kostas is beat red

"Better watch your self big boy your dick is gonna get you in trouble. Much like it did 6 years ago." Nyx says.

"The way you look at Xander tells me you can't wait for him to rip you in half with just one hip thrust." Fino says a huge smile on his face.

"Watch yourself Fino, Alpha may rip you in half just for speaking to her that way." Kostas says.

I admire his protectiveness over her. "She can take care of herself. She did start it too." I say.

"True I did, Kostas he has known me all my life. He taught me every dirty joke I know." She says as she pats Kostas' sholder.

"I seem to remember you had that same attitude as a kid. You really have not changed to much have you?" Kostas says. I can see his affection for her in his eyes.

"I need to get going. There is no need to meet with me tomorrow. I am actually flying to Oklahoma tomorrow to meet with Lucy and Dixie. Welcome home Nyx." Fino says as he gets up and leaves.

"You really need to watch yourself Nyx. I am really suprised your mouth has not gotten you killed by now." Kostas says with a deep frown as he looks at her.

"I have had a few close calls. My father almost killed me the day before. Wanna know why?" She ask with a big smile as she batts her long eyelashes at him.

"Sure, Nyx tell me what you did that mad the big Bad Theron want to kill his youngest child." Kostas say. I can see why he was promoted to beta so young. He has balls. Nyx thumps his nose and says "Bad dog"

Kostas eyes turn red for just a second and then he laughs. "You realy have not changed. I will never understand why you do that. It always pisses who ever you do that too."

"I like to get unders peoples skin. It makes me happy." she says.

Kostas stands to leave and says. "I will meet with you tomorrow Alpha, and keep an eye on her. She really is crazy."

"We will meet everyday at 11:00 A.M. sharp. And don't worry I am crazy as well." I say.

We finish eating in silence and get the rest of the food we need at the market. Nyx also bought a few more clothes. It is almost three by the time we get back to my home.

"What do you want to do?" I ask

"You." she says as she walks up to me and wraps her arms around me.

"A nap does sound nice." I say leading her to our room.
