As Michael walked ever forward, he saw in his peripherals the other were in position to strike. Holding a little tighter to his sword and shield, he watched as the wolfish goblins took notice of his being. He felt his heart beat rapidly increasing, but so did the excitement of a battle with an actual fantasy type of creature.
What must have been the leader of the group of creatures roared out a command to its fellow companions. Each of the goblins at the behest of their leader rushed forward at the prospect of human flesh.
"Now everyone!" Michael yelled out as he started to jog towards his newfound enemies, which quickly became an all-out run. Arrows passed by him quickly and efficiently, culling six goblins, which effectively made the ones behind those unfortunate souls stumble. Not wanting to let the moment go away, Michael quickly brought his sword up in a manner to chop diagonally down onto one of the stumbling creatures' necks.
Blood quickly sprayed out from the space where goblins head used to be connected. Michael had to quickly sidestep and parry away a strike to his right side while simultaneously blocking another two strikes with his shield. Pressure on the shield quickly lessened as he looked over top and saw three arrows each in the two goblins' chests as they fell to the ground quickly.
The people Michael brought with him clearly trying to keep their new lord safe from being overwhelmed. Not wanting to feel ungrateful for the somewhat of a save, he uses a pirouette like move and bashes, then quickly kills the goblin he had parried with moments before.
The goblin group leader was quickly angered watching as a third of its group was cut down so quickly. Pulling on a small horn instrument and blowing onto it.
BRRROOOOO BRRROOOOO
Michael quickly hears the horn call and decides to retreat tactfully since he has no idea what else or even how many more enemies were now coming to the battle. "Quickly blend in with the forest and retreat back to the village." The others quickly nod and take off faster than the goblins can catch up with. Michael quickly leaves the area and starts to follow but stops just outside of the goblins vision range and goes higher up into the tops of the trees and silently waits for what exactly it was that the wolfish goblin and called forth by blowing that horn.
From a little bit deeper in the forest to the northeastern side of the goblins came forth a wolfish hobgoblin riding upon a creature that closely resembles a warg. Behind this creature and its mount was an additional twenty hobgoblins equipped with an iron sword in each hand with shields set upon their backs.
'Its good thing I told them to retreat, or else we would've been slaughtered like cattle.'
Michael watches as the hobgoblin questions the goblin in charge for why it blew the horn, but it apparently hadn't been a good enough excuse since the next moment the warg ripped the goblin apart and started to feast. He watched as it gestured and spoke towards one of the other goblins as it shook in its place and nodded fervently towards the hobgoblin leader. Slowly, the frightened and now newly promoted goblin leader quickly gathered the other goblins together along with their fallen comrades equipment and started marching back they way they came. The other leader now looked upon the corpses that were left behind and motioned forth its beast to feed while speaking to its subordinates.
Quickly, the other hobgoblins nodded and slowly spread apart in a circle and started searching for any sign of tracks that they could easily follow. As they got closer and closer, Michael slowly brought his bow forth and nocked an arrow towards the furthest one away and let it loose. As soon as the arrow was set free, he quickly turned and dashed further south, then slowly worked his way around in a u-shaped path back to his village.
