It took Michael about two hours to get back to his little village using his pathway, and upon finding his once little hovel of a village now with a [Governor's House] in the center and a [Wooden Palisade] with a good sizable area between the first building/house and the palisade wall. The [Wooden Palisade] might not have been the best looking, but it was definitely impressive enough to maybe shock others from wanting to try and knock it down.
As he came upon the opening in the palisade, he got the notification saying that the [Governor's House] and [Wooden Palisade] was finished. Claudia came rushing up to Michael with Gnaeus and Decimus following close behind. Others from the troop that he took with them were also coming up to him but at a more sedated pace that wasn't quite rushing forward but still hurrying after the three.
As Michael slowly stops before the others, he checks to make sure all ten of them are alright. 'They look to be healthy still and not as if they were ambushed on the way back, which is a plus.'
"Legatus!" The ten villagers yell and salute with their right fist to their heart. Michael smiles at the uniformity that the villagers had even at this point and time.
"My people, although we were only able to bring back a few of the deer we hunted." Michael tries to stand proudly and not at all winded after basically tree running/hopping all the way there. "We at least know that we have enemies out there who are nearby, so what we need to do right now is to start training ourselves up from just peasantry to be true Romans."
"Yes, Legatus!" The now fifty or so villagers in front of him who came near after hearing their Lord starting to speak.
"Let's get going then. Claudia, Gnaeus, and Decimus stay here. I need to speak with you three." As the others besides the three mentioned continue on with getting the meat separated and divided along with pairing up and sparring with one another along with one overseeing the rest. The three move a little bit closer to Michael as he waves them over.
"Alright, now I need you, Claudia, to ask the villagers that we have here who are female to gather together since I have a little project for you all."
"Yes, Legatus."
"Gnaeus, I need you to gather the most promising fighters who are male since I already need all the females for one of my projects. Now, what I want you to do is take them out into the surrounding forest and scout and fight all the enemies that you can without too many injuries and come back by sundown."
"Yes, Legatus."
"Now Decimus, I know you're more of a fighter, but I need you to round up a good percentage of the rest of the people and find a good location we can set up for farming."
"Yes, Legatus."
"Alright, you three, dismissed."
Michael watches as the threesome go off to start their tasks. He walks toward his new household, which wasn't too much of a sight to see, but it looked good enough to him. As he reaches the building, he sees that the wooden tablet wasn't there anymore, but in its place was a stone tablet. 'Well, that's cool, I guess, but I kinda preferred the wooden tablet.' Michael sighs a little as he picks up the now stone tablet.
[Barracks] [Trader] [Land Clearance] [Roads] [Shrine to Ceres] [Shrine to Jupiter] [Shrine to Bacchus] [Shrine to Juno] [Shrine to Mercury] [Shrine to Mars] [Shrine to Vulcan] [Shrine to Saturn] [Shrine to Neptune]
'Well, that's a lot of buildings to be made.' Michael thinks about which ones he needs to build first along with building placement. 'Definitely need [Roads] which can help with building placement as well, but we need a [Barracks] first then [Land Clearance] since it looks like that would be for farming.'
As Michael runs his fingertips along the word [Barracks], the words changed with [Barracks] up top with a small image of what the finished product would look like. Underneath the image, it shows what troops would be able to be trained from the building, and after that, it said a description of the building.
[Barracks]
Enables training of [Town Watch]
Barracks provides the basics for training a local force for defense. The barracks can be upgraded as the city grows to produce better troops. Barracks are often not exactly salubrious, but then they don't have to be - the men aren't here for a rest cure, but to be toughened up and to learn enough drill to be useful in defending Rome's territory.
'Well, I wish I had known about this feature, but at least I'm finding out about it now and not even later on. Well, we need the [Barracks] and [Land Clearance] before everything else.' Michael taps onto both buildings to start being built.
[Error] [Insufficient Resources]
"What in the hell is going on... I didn't need to use any resources before?"
[Ding]
[Would you like to see how many resources your buildings need?]
[Yes] [No]
"What kind of bullshit is this... why the fuck wouldn't I want to see how much resources I need." Michael presses the yes button with a bit of irritation.
[Ding]
[You may now see how many resources you have now and need for each building]
'Yeah whatever you stupid system.'
As Michael was continually cursing the system out he notices numbers along with pictures in what he could guess was a HUD or Heads-up Display. With each picture standing for each type of resource that could be available for him and his people. Next to most of these pictures was a solid zero indicating he didn't have any of that resource. The only resources he had any amount of so far seemed to be wood, stone, grain, and meat.
>Wood<- 300
>Stone<- 200
>Grain<- 500
>Meat<- 40
'Well thats convenient I guess. Now I just need to see how much those two buildings need.'
[Barracks]
>Wood<- 200
>Stone<- 250
[Land Clearance]
>Wood<- 400
>Stone<- 100
'I guess that is the reason why I can't build either one. Whatever I guess I can allocate some people over to gathering wood and stone tomorrow.'
