~Kayleigh/Chara's PoV~
Flashback to twelve years ago...
I was just waking up from my nap when I sensed something strange. I bolted upright and looked around. There was a black and red envelope on the floor near my bedroom door. I climbed out of bed and walked over to the strange envelope. As soon as I touched it, my entire body was filled with magic power as well as a voice.
"Happy birthday, my black jewel. I'm sure you've noticed the many dark and evil spirits lurking behind every wall in the kingdom. Those spirits are your friends as well as your ancestors, they are the demons of your past, of the past of your kingdom. I will see you on your sixteenth birthday in person but we will meet many different times before then. Check your bookshelf, there should be a book there that wasn't there before. Open it to page six hundred and sixty six. There will be a spell to summon me. Remember this my black jewel, and don't forget it, because you will have even more experience than your siblings with your own magic. Good luck." The voice said before fading. The envelope was gone but I could feel my magic bubbling beneath the surface of my skin.
I grinned and looked in my mirror, my eyes were red for only a minute before returning to their normal blue color. "I will do everything in my power to become stronger this time Father." I said, grabbing the book and reading each and every spell inside.
An hour or so later, I reached the page my father had mentioned. I smiled, bookmarked the page, closed the book and put it under my bed as it was time for dinner. I ran out of my room and into the dinning room. I was hoping for something different but the chef's spaghetti was always good, plus he made homemade garlic bread, so I was happy with what we had. I didn't mention to anyone what had happened to me as I felt the urge to keep it a secret.
My mother and the visiting adults from around the country continued to talk while my siblings and the other kids left. I followed, although I wasn't going to be following for very long as I had magic to go practice using, just then one of the other kids turned around and looked at me. "So, Kayleigh, what exactly have you been up to? We haven't seen you all day." the boy says with a strange grin on his face as he walks closer to me.
I narrowed my eyes and focused my thoughts, I pulled out the pocket knife I had and cut open my wrists, quickly casting the silent spell to summon Lucifer. "Father? I need your help, there's this boy that's too close to my face. What should I do?" I asked through thoughts when an emerald eyed black panther appeared in the shadows.
"Let him taste a small amount of your magic. I'm sure they're confused as to what you just did when you summoned me. Let them know not to mess with you." Lucifer tells me, his voice filling my mind. I then cast a small spell that would cause the boy just enough pain to know where and who it was coming from, forcing him to back away from me. That was when my eyes turned red for just long enough for the boy to know what I am.
The boy screamed, "DEMON!" His mother and father came running in. My eyes were back to their normal blue. My pocket knife was in his hands and there was a cut along my cheek from it. My mother ran over and looked at me.
"What happened? Why did he hurt you?" Mom asked, brushing my hair out of the way. I hugged her, sobbing, putting on an act of pure innocence, of course, neither one of my siblings saw what had happened so they all believed it as well.
"Mama he- he tried to cut my hair and- and- he-..." I stuttered, still sobbing, it was all a lie of course but they didn't know that. My mother understood and stood up, looking at the boy's mother.
Mom said sternly to the other lady, "Teach your son to keep his hands to himself or you will not be welcomed here again." She looks at the boy and adds, "I do believe that pocket knife belongs to my daughter." Then the flashback ends.
