Training For A New Future

A boy in only his pants stood right under the waterfall with a katana carved purely out of wood in his hands. Even though his skin was red from the impact he endured it and kept repeating the basic moves. It took half an hour for him to finally slip and jump away from the waterfall.

It seemed as if steam was rising from his body once he walked onto dry land. If anyone that knew him from his past saw him now they would definitely think that he was slightly leaner then he was before and more built. This was Naruto and after two weeks of constant training, he even seemed to have matured a little by the look on his face and his eyes.

This was due to the reality of everything that happened to him finally sinking in and meditating on each of the fights that he has had when he was in his world. It seemed as if he was extremely lucky and there was always someone to save him when things got dire in a fight.

He lost important people in some of those fights and this fueled his determination to be better then he was before. He promised himself that he will not lose someone dear to him again and this can only be achieved by getting stronger.

He also had some scars to show for the recent fights with these creatures called Grimm. He learned it from the people once he was able to understand them slightly by spying on conversations since he sneaked into the village every other day. Naruto was also able to speak some broken words and make the person he was talking to understand him but until now he did not talk to anyone since he was still hiding from everyone.

What he hated the most was he could not find ramen in the entire village. It broke his heart but all he could do was cry and hope that some other place had ramen. Otherwise, he would have to learn how to cook his own ramen from the recipe he remembered and that meant he will need to learn everything about cooking. In his entire life, Naruto only knew how to make instant ramen since according to Sakura cooking fishes and small animals on a campfire did not count as cooking which was a complete lie.

Other than that Naruto was busy training by using stones as weights, swimming, running and even climbing the waterfall again and again to increase his speed, stamina, and strength. The results were showing because he used trees as training posts since they were very hard and many trees had fist-sized marks on them around the area. He honed his senses more and even used his negative emotion-sensing ability everywhere to try and specify each emotion but he could only sense anger for now.

Next, he robbed some more street thugs that sometimes tried to bully people and stole their money. Since he had decided that once he had enough he will go to the weapon shop to buy a nodachi and some other stuff like throwing knives for ranged option. Secondly, the dagger he stole also transformed when he was messing with it and a good thing he didn't mess with it more because he learned that it is called a gun that shoots high-speed projectiles which can easily damage Grimm.

What he hated about his situation was he was still not able to feel any kind of chakra flowing in his system or else he would make a few clones to help him learn and train. He remembered that chakra increases when one trains and learns; the mind and body according to Ma and Pa this creates yin and yang chakra respectively and once they both join to create the normal balanced chakra that everyone had. He wanted to try sage mode but he did not want to risk getting turned into stone if he really was able to use nature chakra or energy.

Overall, his rate of improvement was great if he overlooked the learning part since any shinobi worth his salt could easily learn the language in just a week because they learned secret codes on the fly by only reading them once. Still, he knew he was no genius like Sasuke and Neji but a hard worker like Lee.

....

It was noon when Naruto walked down the road with calm steps. His attire consisted of black pants and a black full-sleeved henley shirt, brown gloves and ninja shoes with the dagger hidden away from sight. It had been a month since he arrived in this world and now he could easily speak, read and write. He can also easily enter the village without catching the attention of everyone he bumped into.

Without even saying a word he entered the village for the first time and headed directly towards the library. His plan was to stay in the village until he had completely gotten all the information about this world and then move on since he had heard from travelers and traders that this was a small and minor village. Only in a city will he be able to get his weapons made since materials were limited in small villages.

Entering the library Naruto started from the section which introduced the world which is named Remnant which has four continents and four kingdoms. He kept reading each and everything in that section of the small library for hours until it was evening and time for the library to close. Silently he left the library and traveled towards the Inn he knew of.

Since he had learned that the currency and language were the same everywhere despite the culture being different, naruto was at ease but another problem cropped up and that was identification. In the books, he read that it can be either on the card or scroll. Good thing he never took those scrolls from the street thugs he left unconscious and naked in the alleys since they could be tracked.

Entering the Inn he saw a counter as well as a small bar with many chairs and tables placed around in a neat fashion. By the design, it looked like a small hotel but Naruto was now used to this since the technology was quite advanced in this world.

"I want a room for one week." he said to the man behind the counter while handing him the money. The man simply nodded with a professional smile while handing him a card with 108 on it. It took all that his mind and maturity he had achieved in the month to not ask what the card was and how to use it.

"Your room is on the second floor.", said the man and Naruto thanked him before taking the stairs.

While standing in front of the door to his room Naruto inspected it the lock for the card to go in somewhere but just as he brought the card near it the door unlocked. Silently he entered the room while locking the door behind him with a gentle push of his leg and inspected it for any cameras or devices. The room had a single bed and bathroom with everything like soap and shampoo and other necessary things that were disposable.

Once he was sure about spying devices Naruto looked at the bed with such gentleness and longing, it seemed as if he was meeting a long lost lover. Kicking off his shoes Naruto fell onto the bed and snuggled close with eyes closed. He let a long breath out and his muscles finally loosened up after a month of being on constant vigilance.

Even though following his perverted godfather's advice on being on guard when on enemy territory was helpful to survive in this new world Naruto almost went insane. He remembered how he was ready to attack when some leaves rustled in the forest just because of wind. He knew his body language showed it too and he had to actively suppress himself or some experienced hunters might be able to catch onto him.

'From the information I gathered, I need to go to a school if I want to carry a weapon in the open and become a hunter.' a depressing aura surrounded him, 'I hate school and I am sure I can become a professional hunter without going to school.'

Although his reasoning was sound but Naruto still had an entire library to go through and he was betting on something that might give him a pass through another four years of academy and headache. Besides, he was sure that there were geniuses like Itachi in this world too and even though he was not one he had the experience of fighting worse things than Grimm.

'If I want to find a way to get back home I need to travel and find something that could either help me use my chakra or directly teleport me back.' Nodding to himself on a well-thought plan Naruto decided to forgo showering since he was always training under the waterfall and go to sleep without keeping his guard up. Soon he was lightly snoring and for the first time looked at peace.

...

Naruto woke up early in the morning because it was becoming a habit to wake up early for training. After a warm shower, he looked in the mirror and stared at his reflection. He seemed a bit taller and certainly more developed, his hair was also falling right in front of his eyes and less spikey since they were too long. Sweeping them back, he observed his whisker marks were fading a little.

'It seems like without Kurama's chakra they will fade after some time.' He thought as he stretched his cheeks all the while making funny faces.

Finally, he got ready to go train outside the village even though it was still quite dark, Naruto just informed the guards that he was training to become a huntsman and they happily pointed him towards a clearing near the village wall perfect for training.

After three hours of continuous rigorous training Naruto was sweating from head to toe. Some boys and girls were staring at him with their mouth agape since they thought his training was more of a kind of torture rather than training but this is where his Uzumaki blood came in handy and helped him recover. Besides Naruto had enough stamina to go for days even without his chakra and training helped him in not being hyperactive all the time.

After a shower and a big breakfast he headed towards the library once again to research further since last time he had read almost everything about the world. Now he needed to study the technology of this world and plan a route which can take him all over the world in his search.

His focus was soon brought to weapons, computers, dust, aura and semblance. The more he read the more intriguing it sounded to him since semblances were a lot like bloodlines tailor made for people themselves. Some could be inherited while others were unique to each individual but aura was still more like chakra to him. According to the books it came from the soul so that means he could probably unlock it too if he just find out how? but, the book didn't had a method written on it and he would need aura to become a huntsman.

Instead of jutsu he needed to use dust for elemental attacks in shape of bullets or other things. He was glad however that shinobi didn't have such technology because if everyone had flying ships and bombs than wars would destroyed everything.

He also learned that computers and scrolls could help him learn more because everything there was up to date and he could also hack into the system to make an identification for himself. The barrier that he faced was learning about hacking but he had no other choice other than to learn it.

This time he had a proper dinner delivered to his room and continued his research on computer about the myths and legends of Remnant.

'No way am I going not to get blind sided after meeting Sage of Six Paths and finding out that I am related him' he thought with sweat dripping down his forehead.
