FIORE ARC

Lucia Dragneel's Point of View

My eyes fell on the quiet guildhall. The atmosphere feels as if the same event before the lacrima hunt began and the only difference was that even the rain was being as woeful as the people inside the building, the black clouds covering the rays of the sun accords to the black clothing that everyone is wearing.

"I wonder if somewhere out there Oceane is also mourning for some news she had gone unheard." Archive started from my side shaking a glass of wine he had for the third time today.

"Or if Oceane is even safe out there." Stella retort from inside the bar counter who was part of our conversation to begin with.

"The news is pretty big for some of us to take huh." December, beside Stella who was doing her best in shaping the candy she has in her gloved hands stated her focus not leaving on the candy in front of her.

"I..." I trailed off looking down at the teacup I'm clutching with my two hands warming me up from the cold that the rain gives. Noticing the three of them quiet down to listen, I decided to continue. "I was expecting this outcome. It was a possibility afterall."

Tears from my eyes dropped on my hands. "But I didn't know it would really hurt like this?"

My quiet crying turn into a series of sobs the drops of the tears not stopping. I can hear December dropping her task to envelop me into a tight hug with Stella and Archive tapping in both my shoulders to calm me down.

"I didn't want this. For my prediction to be certain. For Oath-san to..."

I couldn't continue what I want to say, I was choking on my own sobs that I had held for a long time. From the vanishing of my friends, my cousins, my sister. And now, we had lost someone that could never return. Oath-san was a time mage. And Tyrant-san proved my words true, Queen Charlotte and Oath-san was our savior by combining the universe one the minute the lost aegis is activated, and for that Oath-san's life is the price.

We undergo a series of denials and outburst especially from my brother but we cannot do anything about it anymore. And just today, Tyrant took us to Oath-san's grave that he requested himself, at the center of Magnolia's forest, the place where he used to go fishing with his grand daughter.

"I don't know how to face Yumeko-chan one day." I said to myself, my grip on the teacup tightening.

"I feel you Lucia." Stella said rubbing my back in a soothing manner. "But I feel more ashamed if I go and face Yumeko-san in a state like yours."

I paused, looking up to face my brother's lover. She's usually timid and quiet and its quite rare to see her this serious looking.

"I will cherish the life that Oath-san gave me. So that I can stay by Yumeko-san's side and she won't feel lonely about the loss of her grandfather."

"That is a good idea." Archive stated going back to his playful flirty mode. He stood up slamming his hands on the bar counter causing everyone to look at him. "This is enough! If we mope around like this we'll get nowhere. Oath-san's death will be useless."

He pat my shoulder giving me a thumbs up a cheeky grin plastered all over his face before he strutted to leave making his way to the second floor where a smirking Kiara sits, putting his right hand on his pocket as his left hand waved in a bored manner. "I'll be on the library, Lucia follow in suit later okay?" And with that his figure dissappeared with Kiara following closely after him the sound of the library's for closing.

"By the way, Kiara seems calm about it don't you think?" December started her eyes gluing to the door where Archive and Kiara entered. Her hug loosening. "She's very strong."

"Not just physically." I mumbled wiping the tears off of my face. "Her strength also made me feel a bit better."

The three of us look at each other before bursting out in a fits of giggles. "Thank you guys. I feel a lot better now." I said leaving my seat to head to the library. "I'm gonna go help the two up. I'll leave my brother to your hands."

And with that, I left the two at the bar counter seeing their waving form before my view was covered by the very image of books.

A strand of Caramel coloured hair fluttering beside me.

"Are you feeling better now Kitsune-san?" I asked the girl standing beside a pile of books wearing a Yukata.

The girl smiled at me, the glasses she wore couldn't hide the relief and happiness she had. "I'm feeling a lot better now." She replied tucking some stands of her hair behind her ear revealing a white markings on her right forehead.

"I'm sure glad Blue Pegasus has another member on their side." I looked at the other side of where we both stand seeing Archive in one of the tables with Kiara, the two of them surrounded by stacks of papers and the bags around their eyes already darker than yesterday's.

"Well, seeing their current state makes me want to cherish the second life I received." The two of us briefly laughed that was halted when a loud gasp erupted from Kiara and Archive.

"There it is!"

"We found it!"

The two exclaimed in unison. Causing us to hastily make way towards them.

"Found what?" I asked.

The two looked at each other again before their gaze shifted to me and Kitsune.

"An opening!"

----

"So basically, what you guys are saying is that since Dragon slayers are immune to the lacrima effect there's a huge chance of them just around Earthland and is safe?"

The two nod, Kiara holding a cup of milk that was sent by her ever loving boyfriend and some cookies that was from her brothers' loyal general, Aka Poison.

"And what does this opening have something to do with the opening you two are talking about."

Archive shook his head, a chuckle escaping his mouth. "And I thought you were smarter than that Lucia-chan." He pouted.

"The opening here is that, If the dragon slayers knows about this advantage, they might have a bigger chance of finding a solution to our decreasing population." Kiara answered in Archive's state.

"Then what about the barrier?"

"That is exactly why... We'll switch operations?" Archive stated enthusiastically looking from us to his open magic.

"From operation, lacrima hunting."

"To operation Dragon Hunting?" I questioned finally getting a gist of the situation.

"So instead of making a big move by going one lacrima after another. We're going by team to search for one dragon slayer after another putting a mark on every lacrima in the area."

"I get it!" I exclaimed taking a stand from my seat my fist clutched tightly in excitement. But soon died down after a following question I didn't mean to ask out.

"Then if we leave the lacrima at that wouldn't it eat all the magic and would become a weaponp? What if the enemy would found out about it?"

The two placed a hand on each of my shoulders. "That's not possible Lucia. The lacrima istself is the magic, if it eats out any magic the lacrima would only grow."

I sigh in relief. "But, we'll put your words into consideration. Who knows what else the lacrima can do."

I nod my head and slowly walked towards the door turning the knob and slowly leave. But before leaving I looked back and smile.

"Let's have a break?"

The three looked at each other before following me and as we go out the door we were soon greeted by the chaotic state of the guild.

"These guys recover fast." I sweat dropped looking at my brother that was doing some silly dance with Merry. I heard a chuckle from behind and a hand on my shoulder.

"Well, at least with this. We won't need to worry about their comfort." Kiara said with a smile that soon disappeared when a pie landed on top of her head causing the three of us to flinch. "They need discipline though."

She grunted slowly walking up through them.

"Well, that settles it." I mumbled still looking at the guild with a smile.
