The scene fades to Cobedra laying on his back on a rocky bed. We then see Cobedra laying down sideways. He sighs sadly.
Andy
What's wrong, Cobedra?
Cobedra
Andy, I think you already know what's going on.
Andy
No, I don't, but okay.
(brings a water bowl to Cobedra)
Awww. Are you tired? That's okay. You need to hydrate. Drink some water, you know.
Cobedra
No. it's just-
(gets up)
It's just I don't think I can change.
(looks at the broken mirror)
I mean, I'm nothing like everyone else in this trench.
Andy
Yeah, I know.
(gets a little piece of fruit)
You're not a knight in shining armor, just a pleasant cobra. But you're not as mean as your other friends.
(crawls to Cobedra)
The point is… you're just special. Besides, you're actually a lot different from the others. I mean, you've got glasses on, and you're wearing a hat.
Cobedra
Well, yeah, because I found these lost in the desert.
Andy
And why do you still wear glasses anyways?
Cobedra
Because I have very sensitive eyes. Plus, I found the glasses and the hat abandoned in the desert, and I love these glasses.
Andy
See? You know that you're special as well. You even admitted it, and you even drew you and your parents with this broken crayon you found under the sand from some kid.
Andy shows Cobedra the drawing he made of him, his father Keon, and his long-lost mother.
Andy
Awwww! So cute! I know you have what it takes. I believe in you.
Cobedra
Thanks, Andy. But still.
(eats some fruit and drinks some water)
It's, uh, more like a "disgrace" kind of special. I mean, who's gonna like me? I look like a nerd.
(looks out the window)
Andy starts to look down and sighs as he tries everything to cheer up Cobedra, but it doesn't seem to work. Then, he gets back to eating a piece of watermelon. Meanwhile, outside, four snakes are on a carriage playing drums.
Royal Snake
Make way! Make way for the Princess of the Salahamid Dynasty!
Andy
Hmm? What's going on, Cobedra?
Snakes see the carriage come in and then stop as it shows Eva coming out of the carriage and slithers down and keeps slithering as many snakes start to get her attention.
Snakes
(whistling)
Hey! Look at the princess. Hehehehe! I wanna smash that tail!
Cobedra
(sees Eva slithering and begins to get her attention and smiles)
Whoa! She looks beautiful.
Eva suddenly turns her head and looks at Cobedra.
Cobedra
AHHHH!!!
(hides)
Andy
What's wrong?
Cobedra
Nothing. Nothing at all.
Andy
(looks out the window and sees Eva)
Oh, you have a crush, eh?
Cobedra
What?! Pffft! No.
Andy
Well, I think you must have a girlfriend. You love the princess.
Cobedra
Andy, she's a girl. You know I get shy towards female snakes.
Andy
Yeah, right. I'll be in my room.
(walks back to his little hole)
Cobedra
Alright. Phew!
(looks back at the window)
Cobedra's Voice
And that's how I met Eva, the prettiest snake I ever saw. Before knowing her.
Then, Cobedra looks at the sunset. Cobedra climbs up to the roof and looks at the sunset.
Cobedra
(sighs)
What am I gonna do?
Eva looks at a sad and poor Cobedra up on the roof. Meanwhile, Keon and the advisor are chatting.
Advisor snake
Keon, leader of the trench. Here's princess Eva. She's ready to meet your prince.
Keon
Oh, of course. How lovely. Cobedra would definitely love to meet her.
Eva
(looks at Cobedra up on the top)
Poor cobra, always alone.
(thinking she should meet him since she's alone)
I'll be right back. I need to talk to your prince. He seems sad.
The scene cuts to Cobedra feeling a little sad on the roof. Eva climbs up there without him knowing and slithers next to him.
Eva
Hi.
Cobedra looks at Eva and gasps.
Eva
Oh no! I'm sorry I didn't mean to startle you.
Cobedra
It's okay.
Cobedra feels shy while Eva stays silent.
Cobedra
Hi. I'm Cobedra. What's your name?
Eva
Eva.
Cobedra
That's a good name.
(smiles a bit)
Eva
Thanks.
(smiles)
Cobedra
I know this is awkward, but… I think we can chat for a bit.
Eva
Of course.
(smiles)
