6.Medicinal Drugstore

The sun was high in the sky, there was no cloud blocking its power causing dehydrated to old and young people. Most people prefer to stay indoor, some townfolks were walking on the street using umbrella. It was already pass lunch, an elderly man sitting on a stool, opposite to the counter ,showing boring expression. Then a youth with tall, tanned skin, clear brown eyes and a straight naturally trimed eyebrows, walking into the store. His clothes was neat but not fancy, showing of his firm chest, the shirt was swaying even by the little air blowing, clearly hidden his well define muscle underneath his cloth.

The shop was somehow small but well decorated with fairly made furnitures, the counter was made by fine wood, its interior with various cases to store herbs classified by the names and numbers. There were abacus, iron scaling on the table, some books for recordings. The shop name's plat hung firmy above the entrance, golden word were written on this plat as Cloud Mistedicinal Store.

Cloud Mist Medicinal Store had a long history and some fame through out generations, selling medicinal herbs, unfortunately on its later generations it became declining.

Liu Fan walked in to the shop, turned his eyes sight to the old man then politely said " Shopkeeper, do you buy these herbs?" then he took off his herbs from his backpacks and put them on the counter. These herbs were common herbs found in the village. Gray Thorny Grass were use to grind in to powder after it was dried in the sun, the powder was use to reshape into incent stick. When burn it casue relaxing calm effect to mind, it also use to treat chronic insomnia and prevent common cold. The other herb is Insect Repelling Grass, as its name refer to, this herbs also need to be grind then can be mix with water to spray the floor, plants, or use to shape as incent stick when burning it repell flies and mosquitoes away. Further more it does no harm to human.

Old man Yang look at the items displayed on the table. These herbs were common, easily found on the foot of mountaint, however to find top qualities were rare except planting with good care. The herbs were top qualities, its textures were firm even after they were dried, their smell were strong which represent the best cares were provided including best fertilizers, water and fertiles field.

"My shop had long history with good fame providing reasonable price and selling quality herbs. These herbs are all good products, i will buy it 1kilo each 10copper coins." The price was reasonable according to market price. "How much do you want to sell?".

Liu Fan already knew the market price before hand. Planting these herb in his space required little effort but great output both in quality and quantity. He have been planting them and had them dried at home for quite sometime. He at least had hundred bags of these herbs. Each bag weigted at 60kg each. At first his father was wonder ,where did he found so many grass herbs. Liu Fan just said that he found a good place in the mountain and havest all of them. His father even advised him not to havest everything, he should left some of them to manifest for later havest. Of course Liu Fan pretended to agree.

After transaction are completed Liu Fan earn 10 silver tales and haft. Before Liu Fan leave the shop he wanted to buy new fresh medicinal herbs to plant new batches in his space. He asked "I need some medicinal herbs, but I will only buy if I can recognize their usefullness, so does this grandpa can show me some guides". The old man was stunned but he complied to the request.

As the previous herb bought in, the store will surely earn profits after grinding them to powder and incent sticks, because rich family will buy them daily or in bulk. The consumption of this Calming smoke and Insect repelling are high, even importing are needed.

When Liu Fan just about to leave the shop there were a group of four people dragging a bruise swelling face young man in blue schoolar attire in to the shop. The leading person was wearing white robe with green bambo pattern, using fan while walking expressing his schoolar aura, but his speech lets us take back our previous comments.The other three people were his guards.

"Old man yang, last night your grandson went to the brothel declaring that he would pay for all the expense of the night, then this morning he went to gamble at Dark Sky Casino and lost lots of money. Later he borrowed the money from us 1 gold tale and he tried to harrass our young Miss Sun in public".The white robe man talked while knocking his middle finger on the counter, then took out the I Owe You contracts from his sleeve and continue " Today we demand the money he owed us, including interests from the past it was 4 gold tales. If you dont pay up, we will bring your grandson to find justice at the court, and we can not guaranteed that his fingers are intact later ".

The old man look at his tattered clothed grandson causing the later to tremble abit but look back to him wth petty eyes. The old man sight then siad "I will pay the price, but who will be responsible for my grandson injury? You can come for money if he owe you but why beating him to this state?"

"How can you say that, if he only owe us money we don not need to beat him, but he tried to touch our young miss, so how can we bear not to beat him" The schoolar man retorted.

Old man Yang already knew that his grandson had a feeling for young miss Sun Sumei for long time. But he could not understand that his cowardly grandson could do something like harrasement in public. His drug store was declining since his son and daughter in law got into accident 10years ago while they delivered the herbs to capital. Not only the herbs were stolen, they were reported dead. Leaving only this unfial grandson with him. Because of the grief, he spent most of the time to stabilize the store, neglacting his grandson. Later his grandson grew distant and caused various problem from time to time. May be this is fate, the long standing shop came to its end.

This amount of depts was great enough to bankrupt the store.

Then the old man went inside the room bring back a small ivory wooden box, inside there were 5 gold tales, then he took out 4 of them and gave it to the white robed man.

"Give me the I Owe You contracts then leave!" the old man siad enduring his rage. The white robed man received the money, then instructed his underlings to untie young master Yang down and then they left the shop with a "ha ha... "laughing sound.

The old man then bend down to support his grandson who just fainted from the drop, struggling go inside the shop. Liu Fan who stayed silent the whole time went to carry young master Yang on his back then siad "Old master Yang lets me carry him inside, you lead the way please" Liu Fan easily carried young master Yang on his back and walk straight following old man yang to his grandson room. After apply medication and some firstaide young master Yang sleep soundly on his bed.

"This old man thank you for your help and will remember this deeds" Yang Gu sincerely said.

"Who are thoses people? Why are they so wicked to your family? Liu Fan curiously asked.

Yang Gu sight again and replied "They are from Sun famlily, one of the top 4 family in the Red River Town and the stand above all other family, they control dark business such as brothel, auction house, casino and black market. They also had deep connection to the officials, otherwise they wouldn't so brave to comit in these line of busineses. The leading man named Tang Yu, he was the nepew of Su clan's patriach, and cousin of young miss Sun. He was talented in literature and vile in execute comand from above, so the Su clan head allow him to be responsible in many business. He had been courting young miss Sun since young, and consider her as his wife. So whoever have feeling for miss Su, he will beat them up or bullied themor even scheming against them. On the other hand, Su family alway want to buy my shop to extend gambling dent, so how can i allow my ancestor shop to become gambling dent?"
