The sounds of many feet running through the snow closed in fast all around Ada. This reminded her of when she was running from the rogues after Kyle singled her out. A few months and she was back where she started. Hunted by the rogues that had shaped her into the wolf that she was.

Ada came to a stop in a small clearing. She planted her feet firmly and turned to face the wolves as they charged her. To her surprise, she could smell Mary closing in fast. She should have kicked out both of her knees.

She bent her knees as Mary charged her. The other female seemed confident in her abilities, even with a broken leg. As Mary got close and lunged for her, Ada lifted her hands and caught the wolf by her open jaws. Ada fell back and landed on her back in the snow, Mary's claws digging into her shoulders and chest as she held the teeth at bay.

The other wolves that had come with Mary ran around the batteling females, barking, growling and howling as the two struggled on the ground.

Ada did her best to ignore the sharp claws digging at her cold skin and she held fast to Mary's jaw. Dispute being weak and injured, Ada still had a surprising amount of strength left. She was not sure if it was from her personal resolve or from the strength she got from being bonded with her mate. Either way, she shifted her hands on the jaw of the other female and began to pull.

At first Mary didn't seem to notice. The female was still pushing forward, trying to bite down on Ada's face. She stopped trying when Ada began to pull. Her bottom jaw was going down and her top jaw was going up. Tje pain was setting in and it took too long for Mary to realize what was happening.

There was a pop and the screaming whine from Mary was nearly deafening. Ada let her go and she fell back, yelping loudly in pain as she scrambled away.

With Mary too injured to continue, the others circled in closer toward Ada. She snarled at them, raising to her feet as best she could. She would die there, but she was going to go down fighting

As they drew closer, two of them barked and darted toward her. One went low, to take her off her feet while the other dove at her face.

While Ada braced for the impact and was already planning on how to kill these two before more joined, something red streaked passed her and slammed into the grey wolf that had leapt at her face. Her and the wolf going for her legs were both shocked, but Ada recovered quicker.

She kicked the wolf in the head and as she turned, she saw a wave of wolves crash over those circled around her. She stood there for a few moments before she sunk down to her knees. It was the pack wolves. The ones from her new pack and the other two packs. They were there. They had all come for her.

A large wolf came to a stop beside her and she already knew it was Vincent. She said nothing as she closed her eyes and burried her face into his fur. She heard him growl and could feel his worry. She knew she had to look terrible, it she was just glad he was there. She was glad they were all there.

All around them were the sounds of fighting. Yelps of pain and the sounds of ripping flesh filled the air, but Ada focused on only Vincent. He had lay down and wrapped himself around her, lending her his warmth, and his strength.

The snow was red with blood, most of the wolves that had come to kill her having been killed. The rest were being ruthlessly hunted through the forest.

The rest of those that had come were making a camp. Some had hung back and brought supplies. Emily was among them, going to tend to Ada right away. She was patched up and given food and water. Once a good sized tent was put up, Ada and Vincent went inside. Ada would keep most of her fingers and toes, but the cold had done some damage.

Ada was wrapped in a warm blanket as she sat on the cot in the tent. She was holding a bowl of hot soup, sipping it slowly as Vincent sat in a chair across from her staring at her. She didn't meet his eye at first, just sipping at the soup. She relished in the nourishing heat.

"I'm taking you back." He said to Ada, who simply shook her head before finally bringing her dark eyes up from her soup to meet his hard gaze.

"No. I have to see this through. We are going to wipe them out. If we dont, they will just come back and try this again. Rogues respond only to strength. If we can show them that messing with these packs is too much of a risk, they will think twice about attacking larger packs." She pointed out to him.

"I'm hurt but I'm not down and I'm not out. I can see this through. I'm not backing down." She said to him. He looked at her for a few moments before he sighed and rubbed his hands over his face.

"Ada, you're hurt." He pointed out. She nodded.

"I know. I'll heal." She replied.

"You look like you almost died!" He roared suddenly as he jumped to his feet. Ada sipped the soup and didn't respond.

"You dont honestly think that I'm going to let you go back in there being this hurt do you?" He asked loudly.

"You are not going to stop me. I will go back there alone if I have to. They went after the pack. I'm not standing down. I will make sure they are never a threat again. No one, not even you as my own mate, will keep me from wiping these mongrels out." She growled at him. He glared at her for a few long silent moments. She could see that she had won.

"You wont be going alone. You have three packs behind you." He said before he stormed out of the tent. Ada knew he was mad, but she could not just back down. This was still her fight. They had gone after her new family. She had lost one family already, and she was not about to go through that again. She was strong enough to do something about it this time. She was not going to just sit back and wait.

A few hours of sleep and more soup and Ada was in better shape. Two of her toes were gone and she still had sutures in her chest and face, but the swelling was gone and the bruising was mostly healed. With the raising of the sun, the packs gathered and they broke camp. They set out for the rogue camp, knowing they would be ready for them.

Ada was glad they were ready. The soldiers that were left would still be on high alert. They would have worked in shifts and some would be asleep. The leaders would be close to breaking. Even if Vincent's parents had been killed, they were going to get them back. They were going to crush this rogue army and prove why the pack wolves were not to be messed with.

She understood that the way she thought was close to that of the rogues. However, she was working toward helping the whole pack and not just herself. She was not a self serving creature with no allies who would end up dead and left to rot. She had something to fight for. Something to protect.

The pack army marched toward the rogue camp. Most of them were in wolf form, with only four of them in their human forms. Ada, Vincent, Zack, and Jessie. They walked at the front of the pack and lead the way to the rogue camp. Though still injured, Ada walked with her head held high and a strong determination radiating from her. Her willingness to fight even while injured and after the things she had gone through seemed to inspire the other wolves.

They followed her and Vincent as if they were their alpha and Luna. The Alphas of the other two packs included. Their Lunas had remained behind to help protect the children of all three packs with fifty other wolves. This ensured that the future generations were safe, and they had orders to flee south to the next closest friendly pack should they not return in two days.

It was a war party that swept across the land, burning with a thirst for blood that ran deep. The rogues had attacked their home. They had attacked other packs, taken their children, abused their families. The rage they all felt was channeled into this one event. This one fight. This last battle. They were going to take back their lands. They were going to drive the rogues out, or slaughter each and every one of them.
