Class Time

Matt comes to suddenly, shooting up in his bed. Drenched in cold sweat and panting hard, he takes a minute to gather his surroundings.

"Are you okay? You look like you had a nightmare."-Mrs. Simmons says with concern

"Am I back then? Hey can you tell me more about Dad?"-Matt asks

"Did you have a dream about him? He died when you were still a baby and we never got any pictures together. You shouldn't even have any memories of him."-Mrs. Simmons

"It's fine if you don't want to say anything, it was just a bit of curiosity because of my dream."-Matt

"It's been so long, I don't even know where to start. Well he was very charming."-Mrs. Simmons

Matt winced a bit at that particular description.

"He was fairly tall, you seem to have gotten your height from him. He did have dark hair and eyes that seemed to suck you in. He was very mysterious. We only knew each other for a few years before you were born. Looking back, it seems strange but I never asked him about his family or past. Unfortunately, I can't tell you anything about your ancestry on his side."-Mrs. Simmons

"It's fine Mom, I'm sorry if it was hard for you to talk about. Let's get checked out and go home."-Matt

After going home and having lunch, Matt starts to leave the house.

"Where are you going after just getting released from the hospital?"-Mrs. Simmons says with a glare.

"I was just going for a ru... the library, I wanted to grab a few books while I rested."-Matt says sheepishly

"Oh that's fine, why don't I give you a ride?"-Mrs. Simmons says strongly

"Sure that would be great."-Matt

With no other choice, Matt and his mother go to the library. Matt grabs a book at random with the intention of pleasing his mom when he notices something strange.

*Ding* Would you like to learn this skill?(Y/N)

Yes, Matt thinks and suddenly he feels like he can cook at a similar level to his own mother. This wouldn't be too strange but he has never tried cooking in his life. He looks down to see a cookbook for idiots in his hand. That wouldn't have fooled his mom, so he puts the book back and looks for something that will help him and convince his mom he actually wanted a book. He grabs a book about archery, some books about martial arts and a few books about a topic that has interested him even before he went to the hospital. A book written by a man long ago named Hattori Hanzo, translated into English of course. There were also a couple of books about languages. Finally there was one book about ancient religions. Matt confirmed that each of the books gave him a prompt but he decided to take them home before learning what is inside them. He sits in a chair in a quiet corner of the library and opens a book, pretending to read it.

"What classes can I choose system?"-Matt

"You currently have one class recommendation, would you like to see that first or view all?"-System

"View all, I don't want to miss out on something good."-Matt

Pick your class:

-Samurai

-Ninja

-Shadowblade

-Mage

-Pugilist

-Thief

-Warrior

"And what is my recommended class?"-Matt

"Shadowblade, with ninja being the second recommendation. The recommendation is based on an analysis of skills and fighting history."-System

"What is a shadowblade then? I think I can understand a ninja is a stealth class specializing towards assassinations."-Matt

"Shadowblade is very similar to ninja. Whereas ninjas are largely limited to physical weapons and tools, a shadowblade forsakes those tools for magical replacements. They both are stealth classes specialized in damage being dealt undetected. Ninjas are better at antipersonnel combat and shadowblades have more versatility but need a high mana for prolonged fights rather than carrying an arsenal."-System

"I'll take shadowblade then. What happens when I pick a class specifically?"-Matt

"You will gain a boost to certain stats and learn abilities related to your class more easily. This does not mean you can't learn the abilities of other classes, but it will have a higher degree of difficulty."-System

"Since you now have the shadowblade class, you will receive an extra 5 points into your strength and agility every time you level up. You will also receive 20 points to your max MP and .2 to your MP regen every level. I would also check your abilities to see what skills your class starts with."-System
