The Last Night

After class the group of boys went back hunting. "Are we almost done yet?" asked Lu Piao. "We've been hunting few 2 weeks straight, without much rest...How can you and Jin do this with barely breaking a sweat!"

Jin and Nie Li looked each other and smiled.....These boys won't ever beable to understand. One was trained for years on the run, and the other was sent back in time, so they couldn't be consider weak in anyway except in cultivation, but that wouldn't last long.

"Yes this will be our last night doing this, as we will move onto phase 2 of the plan." said Nie Li. And they continue hunting late into the night.

"Man I need some rest." said Lu Piao and Du Ze. "Y'all can rest now. Just find a tree or something to sleep in, incase a wild beast wanders here." said Nie Li.

Quickly after he said that they both fell alseep, ignoring the last part of what he said.

"Hey Nie Li, I'm going to check over here as I sense something is off, so you might wanna check the surrounding area as well." replied Jin. "Okay, I'll do that, just be careful." said Nie Li

Jin took of to the east, and Nie Li went west, to check the surrounding area for anything suspicious.

Meanwhile somewhere in the training grounds, there was a open area, and within this place sat a girl bathing in moonlight. She had a painful look on her face, and a couple of spots on her body that were bruised. This was Xiao Ning'er of the Winged-Dragon Family.

Jin was following the traces of soul force that were lingering around here body. Although he didn't think anyone would be pratising at this time of night, he thought is was some sort of beast or treasure. He had heard about these things, as some beast loved to practice under a full moon, as it enhanced their bloodline, especially if it was a night creature, or descendants of the moon beast or moon spirits. So he was seeing if he could catch one, and make it his pet. Since they were good beast worth raising and if done properly they had no limit, and weren't bound by the same rules as regular beasts.

As Jin got closer to the light he hid in a nearby bush, but what he saw shocked him. It wasn't a beast or spirit, but a human girl, and someone from his class, Xiao Ning'er. He was about to leave when she noticed someone watching her. "Who's there!!" yelled Xiao Ning'er, and she jumped up and withdraled a knife for her bag.

Jin slowly walked out of the bush, and said "It's just me."

"Why are you out here?" asked Xiao Ning'er. "Ummmm, no reason just taking a walk that's all." replied Jin. "There's no need to hid the truth, as I know that you and your group are the reason why the horned sheep are being killed off." said Xiao Ning'er.

Oh so she already knew about this, but didn't come to say hi, thought Jin. "What about you? What are you doing." asked Jin. Xiao Ning'er took a step back not knowing what Jin would do, but as she did she felt immense pain and fell to the ground. Jin quickly reacted and caught her. He then put her gently on the ground and sat across from her. He made sure to put some distance between them, so that she wouldn't think he's trying take advantage of her.

Xiao Ning'er was shocked at how fast he moved, it was like he was there and then vanished behind her and caught her in the next second. She has never seen anyone move that fast before, but what surprised her more was that after he caught her and put her down he sat away from her. Her opinion about him were slightly higher than before, because of this.

"You have the Arctic Disease. When night falls both of your legs feel as if they are being burned by fire. Also, every night at midnight it would feel as if it was hailing on your body it would be terribly painful. Even training your soul force wouldn't be possible would it?" said Jin

"How did you know?.....and what is this Arctic Disease you talk about, as I haven't seen it in any records?" asked Xiao Ning'er.

"I know about this, because before I came to Glory City, the last place I was at this disease was common among the younger generation." said Jin

"Wait you weren't born here? And what do you mean your last place before this, are there more places like Glory City?" asked Xiao Ning'er excitedly and curious.

"Well, of course there are othe places like Glory City, but most of them have been destroyed. And to answer you question......No I wasn't born here, but I am still from the Nie Family, please don't ask about this as I am not in the mood to talk about it, and we did sorta just met, and I don't know why I'm even telling you about my previous settlement..." said Jin. Why would he just say something so personal to this strange girl he just met, this wasn't like him.

"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pry into your background.." quickly said Xiao Ning'er as she could tell that his story must have been tragic and hard to talk about, but she also couldn't help but wonder more about his life and she wanted to know more about him. Then she remember what had happen today in class. "Jin you have to be carefull. Although you are may not consider the Sacred Family a threat, they can be very dangerous." she felt like she had to tell him this as she had a feeling that he would do something else to provoke them in the future.

"Thanks for the warning, but I simply don't like the Sacred family, and they are a disgrace to Glory City, and should be wiped out immediately" said Jin with a hint of angry in his voice.

"I do agree with you as they should be dealt with, but are you sure you want to be in the line of fire, as they might try to deal with you first." said Xiao Ning'er.

"Oh you don't have to worry about me. If they tried anything now people will be watching, especially now since they were exposed. So right now is a good time to mess with them, and if I'm right they won't see me as a threat until it's to late. I am not the only one who wants to see them dealt with. I can tell that you have some hatred with them, if you don't mind me asking what's your problem with them. And if I can I'll fix it for you." said Jin. I'm sooooooooo stupid, why would I say something like that!!!! I don't even know her, I mean yeah sure she's a nice girl and all but I don't owe her anything so why am I trying to help her!! thought Jin

Xiao Ning'er couldn't but blush slightly, but since Jin was to busy in his thoughts he didn't notice. If he did he would be totally speechless. Although they were only 13 years old Xiao Ning'er was very developed for her age and she was still growing so she would turn out more beautifull than she is now which was hard to believe.

Xiao Ning'er moved closer just a bit, not knowing why she did but she felt like it was theright thing to do. "The Sacred Family has been suppressing my family, and the only way they will stop is if I marry Shen Feng." said Xiao Ning'er with intense angry in her eyes. Jin suddenly felt something that he hasn't felt in a long time, True Hatred, he hated the Sacred Family even more now, but what what more important was that when she said that he felt his heart pain a little bit.

Xiao Ning'er saw his expression, and couldn't help but feel sorry and worry for him. "Please don't do anything rash. You don't know the Sacred Family like I do." said Xiao Ning'er as she felt like Jin would do something incredibly stupid that would indanger him, and she didn't want that.

"Don't worry.....I won't do anything that crazy" said Jin with a evil smirk.

"Jin you mention that this disease was common where you are from, so do you perhaps know if there is a method to treat it?" asked Xiao Ning'er.

After some thinking, Jin finally smiled really big and started to cheer up a bit. "Yes there is indeed a cure, but it requires physical contact with the injuried area." said Jin.

"Physical contact....." mumble Xiao Ning'er. "Ummmm, do...you.....know...." said Xiao Ning'er while blushing as she hasn't been touch by another man other than beiing held by her father, but even that wasn't very often.

"Whoa Whoa...Although I do indeed know how to cure you using the Daoyin Technique. I think it would improper for me to do so....." quickly said Jin.

"I wouldn't mind you doing it, as you have already helped me a lot...So can you please do it for me?" pleaded Xiao Ning'er.

"Fine, I'll do it, because you asked me to." said Jin

And so she came really close to Jin and asked "What do you have to do?". "Well where do you have a bruised, that was casue by this." asked Jin

Xiao Ning'er blushed even more as she had a few. "Ummmmmm, I have one on my foot, and another one on my chest and side."

"Okay, I'll begin." said Jin "It will hurt at first, but eventually it'll feel better."

After about an hour of using the Daoyin Technique, Jin stopped, and he was exhaughted as he had used a lot of soul force and since he wasn't even 1 star bronze rank it was very tiring.

"I wonder if I may look at your cultivation technique" asked Jin. Out of curiosity Xiao Ning'er asked while bringing out her cultivation technique that was wrapped in a old parchment paper. "Why, do you think that there might be a problem with it."

"I do have my suspicion, butI just wanna make sure." replied Jin. As he reached out to grab the technique his hand slightly touched Xiao Ning'er.

"Ummmmmmm, this is a trashy technique. Why would a family like yours practices something like this." ask Jin. Xiao Ning'er didn't respond as this technique was consider a top tier technique within the family. "This cultivation technique is too poor. It'll damaged the Meridian as one practices it. This is the reason behind your Arctic disease can be attributed to this cultivation technique change this part from "psychic mind" to "Heavenly psychic" and change this to "Soul and Spirit merge"."

Xiao Ning'er recited this in her mind and saw how profound this new technique was. It was completely a different technique from before. "Can you say that one more time?" asked Xiao Ning'er.

And so Jin recited it again, but slower so she could remember it better, and she also wrote it down.

"You should start practising it now, I'll watch over you for a bit." said Jin. "Okay thanks!!" exclaimed Xiao Ning'er as she was ecited to cultivate this new technique.

After a few hours they finally stopped. "I should probably head back to my group before that start to wake up and wonder where I'm at." said Jin. "Oh okay." said Xiao Ning'er she felt sad knowing the fact that he was going to head off somewhere.

As Jin got up he walked back from where he came, but he stopped and looked back at Xiao Ning'er. "Whenver you have the time you should come by the library. That's where we will be from now on. And every 3 days I'll have to do the Daoyin technique, and I'll give you a prescription to go along with it. You need to drink it everyday for about 2 months or until the bruised areas goes away." with that he tossed a ring that were full of the medicine that she should take. After that he walked off, and left no trace that he was ever there.

Somewhere in the trees, were someone hiding, watching the whole thing go down, from beginning to end. This figured also quickly vanished into thin air, as if he wasn't there at all.
