Chapter 6-Lunacy

Callum was amused by the little s**t's antics, but also angry that he was going to attack Stardust. Filip came over, hearing the little s**t shout as he hit the ground.

"I'm checking camera footage." He announced before turning to the security guard. "Make sure none of them run. We'll get to the bottom of this."

Callum pointed to the switchblade next to the guard's foot.

The guard put on a rubber glove and picked it up. Holding it, he waited for Filip to get back.

Filip returned triumphant. He finally had a reason to ban the little s**t from his store.

"You tried to attack Callum's emotional support animal?" He said the question like a statement. "I'm afraid that I'm going to have to blacklist you." He said afraid like one would say 'I love you.'

He turned to Callum. "I'm shocked that your pet can understand that he was going to attack."

"Stardust is incredibly intelligent." Callum said.

"Smart enough to understand speech?" Filip asked incredulously. "In the feed you said something to your pet, and he turned to check. He acted with his own independent judgement after you said that. What did you say?"

"I have taught him check commands." Callum thought up a lie faster than lightning. "Anything that falls in that direction is to be treated as a threat. I told him to watch his six."

"How long did that take you?" Filip said, astounded.

"About a week." Callum replied, making sure he was in line with the adoption date.

"Impressive." Filip remarked.

The three of the of them watched as the security guard led the little s**t out and returned his switchblade.

"Why did he target your cat?" Filip asked after a pause.

"Because I threw him out if a different store." Callum replied. "He was insulting me and calling me names because I had Stardust with me. I talked to Jack and he gave me the green light to do so. He also blacklisted that little s**t."

"At this rate, he won't have any stores left in all of Seattle to shop in." Filip remarked happily. "I have to thank you. He's been causing problems around this area but I haven't had the legal grounds to evict him until he attempted assault."

"I didn't really do much aside from say 'watch your six." Callum replied.

Stardust looked behind him, falling in line with what Callum had said.

Filip, seeing this, had his doubts washed away.

"By the way," Filip asked a question that had been burning his tongue. "What do you feed him?"

"Souls." Callum replied, with a deadpan expression. "With a side of human flesh."

"Alright then. Keep your secrets." Filip dropped the subject. He knew that if Callum wasn't going to tell him something, he wouldn't be able to extract it.

....

Callum and Stardust were walking home when a certain little s**t confronted them.

"What do you want now?" Callum sighed.

"I want your cat's death."He said, leaping towards Stardust.

Callum was unconcerned. He could probably get him without getting injured. To his surprise, Stardust didn't move. Instead, a set of stars shaped like a tower shield lit up on his fur and projected out into a shield that stopped the little s**t dead in his tracks and broke the knife.

"Care for a meal?" Callum asked Stardust, hiding his surprise.

Stardust merely placed a paw on the little s**t and looked at Callum.

"I should kill him?" Callum asked Stardust.

Seeing him nod, Callum took a piece of the shattered switchblade and began embedding them in a manner in which it looked like the knife had exploded and killed him. The first two knife piece severed his carotid arteries. Callum placed a few others to make it more realistic and was about to leave, when he saw something familiar above the body.
