I Live Next Door

"I originally called you over to eat instant noodles but I cannot believe this ended up being a treat for you." Chu Xiao Xi heard the door closing and walked over. She eyed Chu Yi Chen and teased.

Chu Yi Chen wore a suit, obviously just returning from work. He took off his jacket and casually left it on the couch. Then, he loosened his tie and looked over to Gu Xiao Xiao.

He wore a light blue dress shirt that looked like it was tailored just for him. Men in suits always look good, let alone a man with a model's figure.

Gu Xiao Xiao stumbled back two steps and stood in the corner speechlessly. His condo was also here. Last time, they left this place to go to city hall to get their marriage certificate… that little red booklet was still at the bottom of her box. She was terrified anyone would find it.

The three arrived at the dining table. Staring at the cooked meal, the atmosphere was a little strange.

"Um, I haven't cooked in a long time so it may not taste good. Please don't mind it," Gu Xiao Xiao nervously said after seeing how silent those two were.

"There's nothing to mind. He came here to eat for free anyway. Am I right bro?" Chu Xiao Xi looked over to Chu Yi Chen and began to pick at the fish before her.

"Woah, it's delicious!" The moment food entered her mouth, Chu Xiao Xi's expression drastically changed. "Gu Xiao Xiao, where did you learn how to cook? Who did you learn it from? Did you learn yourself?"

"I learned from my grandma. But I have only scratched the surface."

"You learned enough! The surface is enough! I now have a guarantee over my three meals a day!" Chu Xiao Xi was extremely satisfied. "If I knew of your cooking skills, I would've made you move out of school a long time ago."

Chu Yi Chen didn't speak but his expression seemed like he was happy with Gu Xiao Xiao's cooking skills as well.

"I will go back first," Chu Yi Chen finished his meal and looked at his watch, "I have a conference call at eight."

"That late?" Chu Xiao Xi asked casually.

"It's with the subsidiary. There's a time difference." Chu Yi Chen went to get his coat and walked to the door. He turned around to Chu Xiao Xi and Gu Xiao Xiao and said slowly, "Right, I live next door. In the future, prepare a portion of dinner for me as well."

Gu Xiao Xiao's face was petrified the moment that statement was made. She remembered how he asked her last time about whether or not she planned on moving out. Gu Xiao Xiao strangely felt like she has been played.

"Roger, boss. Just remember to pay us for the food." Chu Xiao Xi slowly waved her hand at him and indulged in Gu Xiao Xiao's interesting expression. "He left. What are you staring at?"

"Did he find out a while ago that we were going to move here?" Gu Xiao Xiao asked seriously.

"He knew a while ago." Chu Xiao Xi smiled mysteriously. "I called him before moving. He organized people to clean up this place."

Dragging Gu Xiao Xiao to the couch, Chu Xiao Xi bit her lips and checked Gu Xiao Xiao out up and down. Gu Xiao Xiao felt uncertain about this.

"Gu Xiao Xiao, how come I get the sense that… my brother… is interested in you?"

"How's that possible." Gu Xiao Xiao responded with guilt, "Don't make fun of me."

"I'm serious. Who's joking with you." She remembered how Gu Xiao Xiao had married herself off last time and Chu Xiao Xi felt a little bitter. "Gu Xiao Xiao, the person you married still hasn't shown himself? Should I ask my brother to help you find that guy?"
