The Truth and Information (Part 2)

I continued my information search on the forums, looking for information on both the class and race system, because I knew very little about both systems currently.

While searching, I finally found a post that peaked my interest

[POST] The Ultimate Guide to Races!

"To new players, races may be confusing, and that's understandable. Although at first glance, they're quite simple, they get more complex as you look more into them, so I'll try to explain this as simply as possible.

In the world of Live Universe (Xyandria), many races exist. So many, that many remain unfound, and untouched. From Humans to Demons, Half-Breeds and Angels, there are an impossible amount of choices when it comes to your race.

You're probably wondering to yourself, 'but there was only 6 races when I was creating my character.' and you would be correct in that statement, however, there are more ways to gain/change your race than just character creation.

In Live Universe, there are 3 main ways to get a new race.

1.Evolving your current race by doing Race Quests, getting special items required evolution, or going through a specific event

2.Gaining a race through quests, events, or dungeons

3.Finding hidden areas and items

Every race has an evolution tree, and grows stronger as it evolves. For instance, Goblins, after doing the "Goblin Village" quest, Evolve to Hobgoblins, and so on and so forth. As a Race evolves, it gets stronger, gains more racial abilities, and in some cases may also become more respected in their Race's culture. This is especially true for Races that are hierarchical in nature, such as Goblins, Undead/Vampires, and Demons.

Races don't just affect your stats and build, though. They also affect how you interact with NPCs and certain towns, along with specific Events. Some races have race specific quests and events which can give you an edge over other players.

That's all you need to know about races, I hope this helped all you new players out there!"

Rai15kin: "Woah, amazing post! god bless the OP of this post"

Und@tedIrregular: "Great Post, keep it up OP!"

TheMythic28: "Awesome post, but please remember that evolving your race is extremely hard to do, and doesn't happen often. A good example of this is the Goblin Village quest, which is notoriously hard for both new and old players alike. anyways, good job OP, keep making these posts!"

The post abruptly ended with their goodbye, and I felt somewhat empty with the Poster's somewhat shallow explanation of how races worked, but it was fine, as it had served the purpose of educating myself. That name also appeared again, I wonder who exactly they were.

After that enlightening post, I decided to look at info on the class system, because like most systems in the game, they were not explained at all. One thing the game was known for was it's almost deadly lack of a tutorial. Unless you looked up info beforehand, you were pretty screwed as a new player. It took almost 1 week for most of the Beta testers to figure out how even the most basic mechanics worked.

After searching for a few minutes, I found a good beginner guide on classes and how they work.

[POST] Super Basic Guide to Classes!

"Hi there! If you're reading this, you probably have no clue how classes work in Live Universe, so I'm here to explain it to newbies who have no clue how the mechanics work!

In Live Universe, Classes, or in some cases "Jobs" are the main deciding factor into what skills you get as a player. Each class has a set of skills that you get as you level it up. These skills can be leveled up as well, into more advanced versions (which I may dive into in a different post). Classes range from levels 1-100, and 'advance' after 100 levels have been gained with them. So, if you are a Ranger and you reach level 100, depending on certain factors, your class will advance into something more, such as a Wood Stalker, or Dark Archer. Those classes will then advance again after another 100 levels.

In many cases, players will hold off on advancing their classes in order to get their base skills evolved, since after advancement, skills from your previous class cannot be evolved.

Many classes in game are not obtainable through advancement or at character creation, and must be gotten. Some become available through advancement from skill requirements being reached. Some titles may give exclusive classes to go with them, and some quests and events give special classes. Be wary though, it is possible to get stuck with a very poor class, and you may have to just abandon your account entirely, so be careful to watch what class you pick up.

Anyways, that's all I have for this post, I hope this helped all of you newbies out, peace!~"

Jul3Satin: "Great post, thanks again for all your help! really looking forward to hitting lvl 100!"

MoaningPhilips: "Really helped me out. many thanks!"

TheMythic28: "Awesome post, but I think you forgot about some things, such as the fact that there isn't a level cap, and possibly infinite evolutions for your class... not to mention how long it takes to level up to 100. that's at least 80 hours of work. overall good post, but could've used some more detail. good job!"

Again, I saw his name. I had no Idea who "TheMythic28" was, but to know this much about the game... he must be important.

And with that, my research session had ended. With all my info gathered, I went to bed excited for what was to come tomorrow.
