The Truth and Information (part 1)

"W-well… my luck is currently…" I stared at my stat sheet, and responded, " It's currently 209…"

The party stared in awe, confusion, and befuddlement. It was almost unbelievable what their comrade had just told them.

"This can't be real! There's absolutely no way you have 209 luck… that's insane!" cried Ranger, in complete shock from my statement.

"It's true, I promise you. How else would we have gotten so much loot?" I replied, trying to convince them of my innocence.

"Well, I guess that would make sense… but even so, doesn't the game take the party's average luck?" Cleric piped up.

"Ah, well you see I have this passive ability which makes dungeon and raid loot go off only my luck." I answered, trying to keep up with their questions.

"Ooh, that makes sense," Cleric said in awe. With everything said and done, we walked back to town, happy with the loot we had gotten. All of us logged off for the day, and I went onto my computer to do some more research, specifically on the luck system.

I pulled up the forum and a post immediately caught my eye.

[ADMIN ANNOUNCEMENT] PLAYERS! NEW STARTER EVENT IN THE COMING DAYS!

"Greetings, Travelers! We at the Live Universe studio have an important announcement. Three days after this post has been made, we will be having a very special Starter Raid event! Very special items and titles will be available for grabs during this raid event, and there are guaranteed drops for anyone who participates! We hope to see you there, and continue enjoying the game, Travellers! - Live Universe Team."

With such exciting news of events in the near future, I was excited to get back into the game soon, but I knew I should research a bit more before I go back into playing, especially with so many variables on my character.

First I looked up a more in-depth post on luck.

"Luck, and how it ACTUALLY works"

Luck is a hidden stat in-game that can be seen by enabling "Developer Stats". Luck decides many factors, such as special proc chance, item drops, and Casino/Gambling results. On Character Creation, a character gets between 1-20 starting luck. Drop Rate bonus is 1/10 of your Luck stat.

Luck can be gained in many ways. The main way is from rare drops, and the rarity of the drop changes how much luck you get from it. You can find a chart below

Common Drop = 0 luck

Uncommon Drop = 0 luck

Rare Drop = 1 luck

Epic Drop = 2 luck

Unique Drop = 3 luck

Legendary Drop = 5 luck

Mythic Drop = 10 luck

Luck may also be gotten from Quests, Titles, and in some very rare cases, Classes and Races. However, none of the base classes or races have this.

Luck also has its own set of available skills (seen from a large data-mine in early beta.) however, it seems that the devs "locked" these skills away by making them only possible to unlock the tree at level 1. This was due to the skills being extremely powerful, and the Devs being too lazy to nerf/rework them.

CollDud2021: "great post! really helped me with understanding LUK. looking forward to other forum posts you may make in the future!"

HyperInflation22: "Super helpful, thanks!"

TheMythic28: "This is a great post, but you completely forgot about TLUK, or that drops get rarer the farther you get into the game. Besides that, great post!"

The last comment caught my eye. I could've sworn I'd seen that name before, but I wasn't sure where. The comment did add a good little necessary bit of information, though.

"Well, that was an educational post, for sure" I said to myself, backing out of the forum post in content with what I had found. "Next I should look up info on my class and race, just to make sure I know what I'm getting into." I continued, searching up more information to absorb.
