Intermission: A Gods' Eye View

We are the Gods. We are many, yet we are all one being. That is all we will ever be.

We dislike a boring narrative, so we must put in our views to show another side to this tale.

We are also fond of messing around, for we are quite a playful entity. That is why we use the worlds of Terraria to entertain ourselves for as long as we exist.

We have gotten bored of the world staying the same and being so peaceful and boring, so we began introducing many factors, such as heroes and false gods. Although the mortals do not perceive them as false.

Our first heroes were only entertaining for a short while due to their incompetence, but we decided that we should give them some minor boons.

We had granted each world a 'teacher', but that teacher was unable to make the heroes succeed in the end. We chose to give him another hero to work with. This repeated several times. Even now it repeats.

It is entertaining to see the world change due to the heroes and gods we introduced, but we were beginning to notice that the world was stagnating once again.

We introduced some more threats: The Crimson and the Corruption.

They worked a little too well and ruined several worlds that were given rather unskilled heroes. We were disappointed in the failures that those worlds were, so we decided to create a counterforce to these poisons: The Dryads.

They worked like a charm, keeping the blights at bay. And we were satisfied with our new creations since they were developing quickly and reclaiming nature.

The world had stagnated once again, so we introduced our favorite addition: The Terrarians.

They thrived on the world, adapting with surprising speed. We were able to see the world develop into a completely new existence, filled with new sights and creations that we had never seen before.

The world had become peaceful and vibrant, and we found it boring.

We decided to make the world more challenging, and we introduced many new creatures into the land and even added a less cancerous blight to the world: The Hallow.

It was something e had never expected, and it was a byproduct of the world seeing that it had become too imbalanced. We never expected the world to grow itself minor sentience.

We were thrilled to see that the world had become so fun to watch, but we began to realize something unexpected: The world had become too dangerous for sentient life to survive in.

We had to make a drastic change before all of our work was reset to the beginning, so we decided on an ultimatum: We must seal the dangers away into a creature created from the beings slain during this time of chaos, and we must place it in a place that should be reachable by only the strongest.

The vessel worked too well, and it had sealed all of the strongest creatures, but we decided that we should make it so that someone must actively seek out the seal to the dark ages of the Terrarians.

We made the seal only respond to the sacrifice of a close friend, and only then will it appear.

We had achieved what we wanted by creating a world where people must struggle to survive, but we did not see enough people working to survive, so we added new threats.

We created a being known as Cthulhu, which was able to make the world realize that everything was not safe and that the world will always have dangers hidden in the dark.

We were surprised to see the entire race of the dryads sacrifice the majority of their race for the survival of the Terrarians, but the dryads were not fast enough to respond, so the world had once more returned to being filled with monsters. The world had been filled with ruins, and the Terrarians were scattered to the ends of the world.

We were satisfied to see the world struggle to rebuild itself once again, so we waited a few centuries, and summoned another hero from an alternate world.

While he seemed to see the world as something akin to a game, he was able to adapt to the world rather quickly.

We did not like the ease of his progress, so we began interfering with his progress in the world, starting with a blood moon.

We were expecting to have a large number of zombies, but we were not prepared for the bad luck of the one named Talon.

He had alerted the horde, and he had attracted a large army of zombies instead.

We could only advise the latest iteration of the 'teacher' to run from the horde.

We had felt a small amount of remorse for the two, so we decided to send them a new companion: The displaced merchant.

They were able to bond quickly through the tribulation of escaping a zombie horde.

Our next interference was introducing the slime rain with what we believed to be comedic timing.

They did not seem to share our sentiments; since they were less than amused to see it raining slimes.

The journey of Talon had been 'progressing smoothly' in our eyes, so we consulted another group of Gods that ruled over a different plane of existence.

We decided that we should merge our planes for some time to entertain ourselves for a good amount of time.

We believed that this decision was our best idea since the creation of the Terrarians since it was able to add quite a bit of new entertainment to our 'boring' worlds.

We watched as our hero fought a dried-up sea worm that was too hungry to drink water, and decided to get a little more intimate with them after they decided to head into the jungle for some better armor.

We were able to enjoy their annoyance for a good period due to our 'fun' personality.

And informing the 'bird's claw' about what they could make, we decided to let the world do its thing.

That didn't mean that we weren't going to stay out of the journey though; since we aren't the only observers of the unlucky hero.

We look forward to the journeys of our entertainment.

And we are quite happy to see that the journey is just as fun as we expected it to be.
