New Loot (And a A new 'Quest')

I was excited to see what the colossal eye had dropped, so I went straight for the bag. I had completely ignored the grotesque eye mask that was sitting next to it.

I immediately opened the bag and pulled the first thing out without waiting, and it was a reddish-purple scarf.

(9 second duration)]

'Thit is both cool looking AND useful. Awesome.'

{I did not expect to see a scarf of all things...}

'You didn't know what it drops?'

{We were not the ones who created that item.}

'Huh... I guess some other gods made that then.'

{The correct term is Gods.}

'That's what I said...'

{You did not capitalize the title.}

'How can you see my words if I am speaking them?'

{Godlike skills.}

'Alright then...'

I decided to push the thought of other gods and gods having weird abilities to the back of my head, instead, I focused on digging through the items in the bag once more.

This time I got a sword that looked like they just fused an eyeball to the handle of a stone sword.

[Teardrop Cleaver

Average knockback

(Makes your enemies cry)

Debuff(s): Temporal sadness (You are crying)

Effect: Target's damage is reduced by 15 and movement speed is cut in half. (1 second)]

"I... Uh... What?'

I was genuinely confused with this weapon.

'What is the point of making something cry? And why is it so effective?'

{I see that the weapon's effect has caught your eye.}

'That was a terrible joke and you know it.'

{Eye see that you do not enjoy our humor.}

'Stop.'

{You are going to make us cry. Insert crying sounds here.}

'Did- Did you just say 'insert crying sounds here'?'

{We may be childish, but we have enough decency to not fake cry in someone else's mind.}

'Oh. Ok.'

{Your understanding brings a tear to our eye.}

'That's it. You're getting ignored for the rest of this 'unboxing session'.'

{But what about the viewers? They need comic relief!}

'What? Are you broadcasting this?'

{Where did you get that idea?}

'You mentioning viewers.'

{We are not broadcasting this. And we never will.}

'Good, since I am not a fan of getting doxxed in front of an entire universe.'

{We would never!}

I have never doubted the gods more than when they denied my claim.

'That is the most sarcastic tone of voice I have ever heard from you. And you are the most sarcastic being I have met so far.'

{Us? Sarcastic? We wouldn't dare to be around someone who has no leverage against us!}

'Alright, that's it. I'm done dealing with you for now.'

{Wai-}

The voice of the gods seemed to suddenly cut out mid word.

'Did I somehow just kick them out of my head?'

{No.}

'You just love to dash my hopes, don't you.'

{We aim to please. Anyways' can you get back to the unpacking? We've spent enough time insulting us.}

I perked up in excitement after I was reminded, but I spoke with the flattest tone of voice I could muster.

'Oh yeah. I forgot about that due to you constantly distracting me.'

{I'm detecting sass.}

'Correct, and I am going to ignore you now.'

And so I reached back into the bag and pulled out a shield that seemed a little too similar to the second stage of the Eye.

[Shield of Cthulhu

'Cool. I could totally make this work with my item set so far.'

There were some voices in the back of my head, but I had deemed them insignificant, so I ignored them.

And so, I reached back into the bag to grab something else and ended up pulling out a bunch of purple ore.

[Demonite Ore

Crafting material]

'Ooh, I don't like the name of that.'

The annoying voice in the back of my head spoke up again, but it was still too unimportant to have any attention paid to it.

I reached in a few more times and pulled out a few miscellaneous items, such as binoculars, victory shards, and purple seeds.

'Wait... Purple?'

[Corrupt seeds]

I decided that glaring at them was the best course of action.

'I am going to just throw those into the nearest pit of lava so that they never grow.'

The voice seemed to agree, but I was too busy ignoring it to notice that affirmation.

The bag disappeared, and everything was back to the normal schedule.

Besides the giant disintegrating corpse of an eye.

I headed back home in hopes of finding somewhere to rest after everything that happened today.

-The next afternoon-

I woke up later than usual, but I had not noticed it until Isaac approached me and asked about it.

"Hey, boy, you slept in until the afternoon. The hell were you doing that ended up with you waking up this late?"

I only responded with an entirely relaxed tone of voice.

"Oh, normal activities. Journeyed into a giant underground jungle, discovered a giant beehive and fought some crazy hornets. Then I went home, made some armor, stayed up until midnight and fought an eyeball about half as large as this house. I ended up killing it, looted the corpse, dissed some gods, and then passed out when I got back.

Isaac just looked at me with a face torn between amusement and shock.

"You have some f***** up ideas of a normal day."

"Welcome to my life."

"anyways, I also wanted to ask about some materials I wanted to get."

I looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

"What material?"

"Mushrooms. They are a catalyst used to upgrade the lesser health and mana potions to a normal grade. I ran out of them, so I need you to look for some wild ones. Not the normal ones though, since they are only used for lesser variants."

"And where would I find these 'special mushrooms'?"

"Their natural habitat would be in the underground caves. You will know when you find them. They tend to be a bit obvious."

"alright... I guess I could go for another delve into the caverns again. What do the mushrooms look like?"

Isaac just grinned at me and said one word:

"Blue."
