A Little Out of Hand

The javelin-throwers were at least 8 feet tall, easily towering over the smaller goblins by a good 4 feet.

'Damn, those guys are massive.'

I decided that avoiding them was the best choice for the near future, and I was able to avoid them for about a minute before one noticed me.

I was only able to notice the attack because I was facing the direction they attacked. I would have taken a spear through me otherwise.

I immediately changed the direction I was heading, avoiding the path of the incoming javelin.

As soon as I avoided the javelin, I noticed that the area it landed had a large dust cloud appear.

'Jesus, those things must pack a punch. I am not going anywhere near those spears.'

Too bad I knew that there was no avoiding a fight with them.

I continued my massacre of the 'cannon fodder' goblins, all the while I was being noticed by more and more of the javelin-throwers.

I only took notice of that fact after I avoided three successive javelins, each one making a small crater where they landed.

I also noticed that the spears seemed to dissolve into a purple light that quickly returned to the thrower, reforming into a spear in their large hands.

'Now that's just not fair.'

I was worried about how I was going to avoid getting skewered by a javelin until I remembered how the throwers disregarded what thy hit as long as it wasn't me.

'Maybe I could use the javelin throwers to kill more goblins...'

I decided to test the idea out, hoping that it would work out in my favor.

I ran towards a large gathering of goblins, as the ones near me were more sparsely populated.

It only took me a few seconds to notice the javelins flying towards me, giving me hope that my plan may work.

I weaved through the group of feral goblins, dodging their attacks as much as I can.

As soon as I reached the center, I whistled loudly, enough to echo across the arena.

I looked around the arena and noticed that all of the goblins and javelin throwers were looking at me.

That was when I realized what I had just done.

I imagined that there was a small black text box with a hazmat symbol saying "You've alerted the horde".

'I've really done it this time, haven't I?'

And then the arena became a scene of chaos, with bombs and javelins flying towards my location.

I began running away from my location, killing any goblins in my path.

Too bad I was stopped in my tracks because of a javelin thrower.

'Oh f***.'

I knew that the fight with one would be inevitable, but I never wanted it to happen anytime soon.

I accepted my fate and began my offense against the javelin thrower, immediately beginning with the mycelial claws.

I jumped up and attempted to slash at the eyes if the lumbering figure, only to come short and tear into their nose and mouth.

It roared at me, enraged, and began to pull back its javelin in an attempt to spear me through.

I wasn't going to allow myself to get speared, though.

I immediately aimed myself at the arm wielding the polearm, prepared to slash at the elbow of the monster in hopes of disabling the arm from there down.

My slash succeeded, and I immediately began my onslaught once more.

I switched my weapon to the light's bane, and stabbed the large creature in the stomach, tearing into the vitals of the creature.

I was going to continue, but there was a loud explosion nearer than I would have liked.

I decided to leave the thrower to die slowly, and ran away from the area as fast as I could.

As soon as I got to a distance I considered safe, I paused for a moment to catch my breath, and the announcer felt that I should never be able to.

=Well there you have it folks! Our challenger managed to piss off an entire army of goblins and javelin throwers! Now that our challenger reached a calm point, we can up the challenge to the second to last level! Let us begin wave 4!=

'Oh you have got to be kidding me.'

I looked towards the nearest portal, noting that it has become an even darker shade of purple.

'This is f****** bullshit.'

-Somewhere undefined-

An unknown figure spoke up, seemingly annoyed at something.

"How come we only censor f*** now? We used to censor more!"

Another spoke up, seemingly tired of the complaints from the other figure.

"We gave up on censoring the other stuff, and we might as well give up on censoring the rest as well."

The first figure was seemingly elated at that news, immediately shouting in excitement.

"Fuck yeah!"

The second figure just sighed.

-Back to Talon-

I watched the portal release my newest foe, a purple winged draconic thing that I am unable to describe with words. (I gave up.)

'The fuck is that thing? It looks like someone beat a wyvern over the head with a rock and ripped all its limbs off except for the wings and legs.'

It was an ugly creature, and I hated every bit of it.

'Well at least I get to use my gun...'

I watched as the creature flew around the arena searching for me.

It only took it a few seconds to find me, though.

It swooped down to try and dive bomb me, with is maw wide open in hopes of getting a good taste of me.

It was approaching, and it was approaching fast.

'Oh HELL nah. I am not letting that thing anywhere near me.'

I sidestepped out of the assumed flight path of the thing, only to see that it turned towards where I stepped to.

'Oh and it homes in. What a fucking treat.'

I immediately shot at the incoming creature, the bullets going straight into the maw of the beast before they split.

By the time I was done firing at it, the whole creature had become an entirely different color scheme.

'Okay, I think it's dead.'

I then remembered that I was currently fighting an army, and looked up to the skies.

There were even more in the skies.

'I fucking hate this challenge.'
