Chapter 6 - Spirit Awakening

In an orphanage, in one of the rooms one boy of six years opens his eyes just as the sun rises. He looks outside the window to see the city. As he does so a faint smile comes on his cold features.

'Today is the day. Today everything starts. It is time for my plans to start.' Daniel thinks to himself. Yes it is Daniel and today is the spirit awakening for him and several others. Daniel has not been idle as he rises up from his bed and just as he does so the door is slammed open by a very cute child of 4 years of age.

"Big brother! Wake up. Today is your spirit awakening ceremony." The girl says so with a very excited voice. Upon seeing that her brother is already up and just standing there she runs and jumps at him, prompting him to catch her.

"Big brother, are you also as excited as me? You must be, after all today is the day your spirit will awaken." Ning'er said one after another.

"With how excited you are it would seem like it's not my spirit awakening but yours." Daniel says so with a slight smile on his face from watching her antics. No matter how hard he tried the little devil was still able to take a place in his heart as a beloved younger sister. The matron was not sure whether she should be happy that her plan worked or sad that Daniel has only opened up to the little girl and was still cold, bordering on indifferent to other people.

Daniel thinks that the reason the little devil was able to take a place in his heart because both Kiritsugu and Tatsuya had a little girl figure that meant a lot to them and Shiki was inherently kinder than them. For Kiritsugu it was his daughter Ilya and the situation also was reminiscent of his assistant and for Tatsuya it was Miyuki, the only one he was able to feel anything for. Not that it matters now, Ning'er has been able to find a place in his heart and now he would die before he forces her out.

She acts like a conscious for Daniel and also the reason he had changed his future plans slightly from absolute domination to being a pioneer of a new era. And it all starts today. The board has been set, pieces are in position, now the only thing left is to take action.

"Alright you little imp. Go out and get ready if you want to come with me for my spirit awakening." Daniel says so while trying to set Ning'er down. She was a little reluctant to leave but did so after a promise to treat her after the spirit awakening ceremony. It is not only Daniel who is attached to Ning'er, she is also very attached to him. Her parents died less than 3 months after her being born, thus she attached herself to Daniel as a family figure. And why won't she do that, after all wasn't it her big brother Daniel that took care of her since she was young, told her stories so that she can go to sleep, played with her while other children were not willing to, taught her fun games (she thinks of the techniques that Daniel taught her as games to play when bored). He also taught her everything she knew, so why wouldn't she attach herself to Daniel as a big brother figure.

After Ning'er left the room, Daniel started to get ready for the spirit awakening. The thing about spirit awakening is that instead of ceremonies with multiple children of varying ages around 6 awakening their spirits together as we were shown in the novel Douluo Dalu, anybody who has already reached the age of six or higher is allowed to undergo the spirit awakening at their leisure such that they only requirement to awaken your spirit is that you need to live in the city and have reached the age of six. Then anyone can go to the local spirit hall branch and get their spirit awakened.

After getting ready to go out, Daniel looks at the mirror in his room and was met with a child that looks quite cute and shows all the signs of becoming a handsome man in his future. The most striking feature of the child has to be the ice cold blue eyes that looks as if they will freeze you with a single glance or more likely the eyes that are able to see through all of you and able to plan your demise with just a passing glance. Overall with midnight black hair and cold death like blue eyes of his Daniel makes a striking figure. He looks more like a noble than an orphan.

After he gets out and waits for Ning'er to come. He is in no hurry to get his spirit awakened and as he already knows what spirit he will awaken he is ready for it. After just waiting for near about 10 minutes Ning'er comes out. She is dressed in a dress that Daniel purchased for her. With her dark black hair and striking green eyes and beautiful features that have been enhanced due to practicing the Nature's Essence Destruction and Rebirth technique Ning'er is guaranteed to become a nation toppling beauty in the future. Together when they are walking nobody would dare assume them to be orphans living in an orphanage and would rather thing they are a pair of noble siblings going out for a walk.

"Brother how am I looking now? Am I looking good in this dress." Ning'er asked nervously to her brother.

"Lovely, now lets go. You don't want to miss my spirit awakening now do you?" Daniel replied while taking Ning'ers hand so that she does not gets lost and moving out.

"Absolutely not, brother." Ning'er says excitedly.
