What is Wrong?

Alexia thinks for a moment, "Hey John. I always wondered, why do you come over here when you are feeling depressed?"

" Honestly, I don't know. It could be because the light of the sunset reflecting off the lake looks beautiful. All the warm colors shining off the lake's surface make me feel at peace. Remember, I am a very visual person."

"Yes, I remember John. But what does that have to do with coming over here?"

"Well, I can look at something & admire all the details of it. That includes the sunset."

Alexia thinks for a moment, "Was there supposed to be some hidden meaning behind what you said?"

"Oh, no. I was trying to explain what I see. You know how bad I am at explaining stuff."

"Oh, I remember how bad your memory can be. I was making sure I didn't miss some hidden message or meaning that you were trying to say."

John looks back at Alexia, "You know that I don't like hidden meanings behind stuff like there are in books or movies."

"Yeah, I know. Again, I was making sure. I hate that shit too," Alexia looks at John's back & notices that he doesn't have his small backpack on him. "I guess you went home & dropped off your backpack before you walked over here."

John replies, "Yeah. I went home, walked into my room, & dropped off my backpack. Then immediately walked out & came over here. I bet you know how mad my mom got when I ignored her."

"Yeah, I kinda figured she would be mad. Was she drunk when you came home?"

John sighs, "Of course she was. When is she not drunk?"

Alexia shrugs, "True. When she is at work, but other than that, she is almost always drunk."

"True. I stopped caring at this point," John looks back at the lake. "Well, I am going to lay down here tonight & watch the stars. It is Friday, so I don't have to worry about school. Want to join me?"

Alexia looks at him & shrugs, "Sure, why not. I have nothing better to do tonight."
